  1. Because LSU was unable to impose their will in the run game against an inferior opponent, relying on superior skill position players for the win. And that’s a formula that only works well against inferior opponents. LSU won’t be facing one of those on Saturday. You are that dense. Noted.
  2. Because they’re the only data point for your new fangled offense. Are you really this dense?
  3. Let me put it another way. Beating a scrub team by what looks impressive on the scoreboard without being able to impose your will in the run game will eventually lead to your getting exposed against good teams. Ask around here and see if anyone disagrees.
  4. That wasn’t the actual question, though. Oddly enough, I think it still answers the question. You just don’t like the answer.
  5. Start with this: Do you consider 3.7 YPC against Georgia Southern to be dominating?
  6. As someone who’s watched guys in burnt orange run new systems for which they weren’t recruited and in which they didn’t have much experience, I can tell you that it can be pretty brutal even if, in a vacuum, the players are talented and motivated. Running a new offensive system against a DC and players who are very familiar with the concepts, on the road, in a less than friendly venue, for the first time against P5 talent isn’t a gimme. And that’s why I think this matchup is what determines the game. Well, I hope it does.
  7. But “new scheme.” You can’t have it both ways. Is the offense new, exciting, and threatening, in which case they didn’t run it against UGA or anyone else last year or is it the same ol’, same ol’? I think Orlando takes advantage of the situation and forces LSU into a handful of really bad plays that are the difference between a couple of pretty good teams.
  8. How are they in true road games over the last couple of years?
  9. Everybody has a plan... If the LSU OL wasn’t sandbagging last week, their offense is going to struggle mightily, new scheme or not.
  10. I’m sure Texas has seen nothing like the offense LSU will bring to town, which should be a huge advantage for the Tigers in their first game running it against a P5 team.
  11. I’d always pick OU. If they win, duh. If they lose, they underachieved.
  12. That game was the closest I’ve ever been to leaving a Texas game early. Medical hauled at least three people out from within a couple of rows of me and I stopped counting the people wobbling toward the tunnel to get out of the sun.
  13. If that steaming pile of shit called KU’s offense can score 40 on OU, we might score 50. I don’t know that that’s how it works.
  14. You gotta man up and play it. If OU is a playoff team, Texas with a fair deal from the zebras can give Georgia at least as much as they want.
  15. It would be, well, glorious. What have you seen in any game this year that indicates that’s a likelihood, though? The Texas defense probably benefits from the different playstyle. I’m not so convinced that the offense does, but maybe there will be enough time for Ehlinger’s shoulder to be less of an issue.
  16. Anyone have a screen capture of the non-PI?
  17. No. Fuck OU and the manipulation that got them into the 2008 championship game. They can get screwed by the system until the sun burns out and it won’t be enough.
  18. Sterns tried to interfere and fail. Sooner just dropped it.
