  1. The problem was just looking at hospitalizations is it omits the uninsured and underinsured who don't go to the hospital and end up either barely surviving or dying from it on their own.
  2. Almost all of them are already 100 percent full go ahead by now. I've seen very little precautions other than employees wearing surgical masks.

    Ozzy

Saw one of Ozzy's last ever concerts in Dallas in October of 2018. A week or so later he came down with the staph infection and hasn't performed since.
  4. I worded that incorrectly. But let's say there was a 4-6 week lag and I started looking at the numbers on May 29. Flu season was over and kids still hadn't been in school for over a month. Will be interested to see where the numbers go. Again, just going to post the numbers about every 10 days so I'm not going to argue with you or anyone else about it again. Just sayin'
  5. Yeah, that's why I said reporting date June 9. That doesn't mean the numbers are directly up to June 9. This isn't star trek. Besides, cold/flu season ended over a couple of months ago. So we may just be seeing the numbers from the opening in may starting to really hit the data now due to the lag. And I don't care what you think about it. Im keeping a running log from May 29 onward about every 10 days to see what the numbers do. I'll post them for whoever is interested. Just sayin'
  6. Just in case anyone is interested the pneumonia as the primary cause of death numbers for Texas that were at 4976 for the year as of May 29 are now at 5552 as of reporting date June 9. So an increase of 576 deaths where pneumonia is listed as the primary cause in an 11 day span of late May and early June when there's been no school in 3 months and cold/flu is out of season and mostly gone. Just sayin'
  7. I don't know if it's been mentioned much as I haven't read all of this but Camden discarded their police force almost a decade ago and started from scratch with a new model and went from one of the most violent places in the country to cutting violent crime in half. The model is there. If we want less crime, safer cities, and less fear mongering we have a model to follow. Just have to scale up.
  8. Okay this made me laugh. Dude, come on. That was fiction and comedy at that. There's a reason the LA cops, and really cops all over the country, used to drive Jack Webb home instead of arresting him when he was completely blacked out plastered drunk swerving over the roads all the time. His dragnet series was nothing but a huge propaganda tool for the cops to cover for the horrible shit they were doing in reality. Cops have always been this bad. Unless you were Black or Mexican you just didn't know it.
  9. Project number one should be abandoning the war on drugs completely. sink the billions upon billions that at going to that into more effective treatment measures. Then you end the privatized prisons since we'll have no need to send non-violent offenders to prison in large quantities anymore. then without all the cops going around harassing people for dimebags you don't need a huge number on the streets anymore. You can afford to have cops of a higher quality who are better vetted and trained when you don't need so many of them. A lot of the major problems we have here start to get a little clearer once you take that first step of completely abandoning the war on drugs and all the bullshit rhetoric and fear propaganda the Republican party has put into it over the last 40 years. Dismantling the systems of fear and injustice is the only way to begin to heal the wounds they have caused.
  10. I didn't need an army of militarized police going around the streets harassing and attacking minorities to get that done. Lesser numbers on call for emergencies would have done just fine. And I didn't get broken into again because the second time I had a alarm system setup so they fled as soon as they broke the door. Again, didn't need police roaming the streets harassing people to get that done either.
  11. We fucking don't. Welcome to the club. We meet on Tuesdays. Bring beer. He's a lawyer. He owes us something more expensive.
  12. About 10 years ago I had my house burglarized 2 times. The only help the police were was writing a simple 2 minute police report for me to give to my insurance to get a payout. That's literally it. They did nothing else. Never caught anyone and never got a single item back even though I had a serial numbers list I think outsideof divisions like homicide they pretty much see themselves as only a money-making venture at this point. Rack up those tickets and busts to get forfeitures.
  13. Just saw this was here. Been playing multiplayer since early december. Shoot house, shipment, vacant, rust, and crash are my favorites. The new small maps outside of aniyah incursion are frustrating but solid. The one in the shanty town I can't think of the name of now is good too. The others I don't like. How does warzone work? Is it like a fortnite ripoff? I don't usually have much time to play so I normally just fire up the multiplayer and get in a few matches
  14. The literal definition of fascism is far right authoritarian ultra-nationalism. Saying a left-wing fascist is like saying somebody's a Caucasian black person. It's a pure contradiction that cannot exist. this is why Stalin was also fascist. He wasn't fighting Hitler because he was anti-fascism, he was fighting Hitler because he was anti getting invaded by Nazis And looking back at that definition: far-right authoritarian ultra-nationalist. That describes the Republican party and Trump to an exact mark. People who support the Republican party and Trump are by definition fascist.
  15. Good God this is fucking horrible. Absolute trash. Country should never cover good rock. Johnny Cash is the only one who ever did it right and he's dead.
  16. Just realized today is D-Day. 76 years ago today many of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers from multiple countries landed on the beaches into a hail of artillery barrage and gunfire to liberate Europe from fascism. Today 76 years later millions of Americans are taking to the streets to liberate the White House, Congress, and police forces from fascism. The war wasn't over on D-Day, but just like our forefathers we have to have the patience to keep fighting and not let up. The enemy today is American and wears a red hat and/or blue uniform but fascist all the same.
  17. All that's left is a BLM anti police brutality protest outside the Koffee Kup Kafe in Hico. If that happens it might start snowing tomorrow.
  18. I've never been more proud of Philadelphia. Well, it's actually the first time I have been. 2020 the bizzaro year.
  19. This definitely needs to fully morph into anti police brutality and demanding legislation for police reform and oversight
  20. The Trump tattoo with the heart really ties it together.
  21. Exactly. This needs to keep up as long as it takes. Then when November hits flood the ballots. I wonder if there's a way to organize buses to take people from minority neighborhoods over to the nearest voting places since the republicans have shut down voting near their neighborhoods to suppress them. If Trump loses Texas he's 100 percent toast.
  22. Good. Let them stay home without pay. Keep the pressure on the govt for police reform bills to come through and become law.
  23. The only thing I've ever likes there is the fried pickle spears. Those are far superior to the pickle chips. The last 4-5 times I've had to go there because the group I'm with wanted it I got a basket of pickle spears and some blue moon. Their chicken and sauces suck. Also, about 3-4 years ago they had a promotion for a while where on every full moon night the large mugs of blue moon were $4. That got me there at the bar during a game a few times.
  24. Actually, in America if you want change the way to get it to to attack the corporate masters of the politicians. Now some local Texas chicken wing guy isn't exactly the head of the snake, but start attacking the head of larger donor corporations, attacking their supply chain, etc. and consistent disruption of their revenue. Make the heads of corporate America feel fear for their lives and business and they'll start listening. Worked for coal miners almost 100 years ago and many other groups throughout American history.
  25. You know what else is getting old? The country burning because of stupid greedy racist fucks!!!!!! Had to do it.
