  1. And we ended up with a top 5 class. If we don't win 10 and make the B12 'ship game I think we'll struggle to make the top 10 this year and next. Double edged sword for those who want staff changes. If we win like most expect this year, I don't think we'll see any major changes. For those changes to happen likely means we had a subpar season. Interesting question: Would you rather have another 10 win season, make the B12 'ship game and no staff changes? Or, end up around 8 wins with Giles/Warehime/Drayton out the door?
  2. I'd much rather see him at OU than A&M. I'm all for OU being a top 10 team every year... better for the conference and better for us as well. A&M needs to continue to wallow in mediocrity for a million reasons.
  3. Agreed. In the end, I doubt TH would hold them accountable for all the negative comments. I certainly would.
  4. We got in on him later than A&M. Lots of time left in this one.
  5. On a positive note, if we project this class on out with Dorbah, CTJ, and Lindberg along with some other likely candidates from within the state we should end up with an overall composite of ~270. If a few higher profile recruitments end up going our way (i.e. Johnny Wilson, flip McClellan, etc.) we could end up close to 290. In any normal year that's a borderline top 10 class with potential for top 5. Bottom line: A blinding glimpse of the obvious, but this season is going to be critical to our long term progression. We need to win 10 and make the B12 game at a minimum. Win the B12 and the sky is the limit. Achieve neither and TH is going to have to make several changes.
  6. I'm still waiting for the DFW --> ATX movement to get started in earnest.
  7. I think this is how it's sorting out at the moment. If so, that would give us 10-11 of the top 35 in the state. Not bad, but should be a good bit better. We're going to have to hit on a number of OOS prospects again if things don't change. Dorbah - Trending Texas CTJ - Trending Texas Lindberg - Trending Texas Collins - Trending Texas Q. Johnson - Who knows? Rogers - Trending UF Washington - Trending OU Robinson - Trending tOSU Ransom - Trending tOSU Ringo - Trending UGA Cooper - Trending tOSU Broughton - Trending A&M Alford - Trending Bama Umanmielen - Trending A&M Achane - Trending A&M
  8. Pretty consistent with most reports lately. Let's hope we get a few pleasant surprises.
  9. July 18th. tOSU, ND and Texas his final three.
  10. 247 with an update on Ransom and commitment date. Anyone have it?
  11. Spot on. This season is going to be make/break for some of the coaches.
  12. Agreed. But we do need some guys going higher in the draft as well. A bit of a negative surprise on Omenihu's draft position. Not good from a perception standpoint and I'm sure that's being used against us as well.
  13. More focused on the #Mommashooked part of the tweet. We'll see.

  15. Trying to figure out how to embed the tweet...
  16. Broughton's momma sure seems to be leaning our direction based on her latest tweet.
  17. We really need some of the heavy leans like Lindberg, Dorbah and Thompson to go ahead and pull the trigger to get a little mo going again. Looking at the 247 composite for Texas players we're likely to get ~12-15 of the top 50, which is quite good, but it sure feels like we've stalled out at the moment.
  18. Really, really odd recruitment. He was effusive with praise about Texas for a long, long time. So much so that he convinced Marcus Washington to give us a look and ended up signing with us. WTH happened between then and now? Just weird.
  19. There's more than one way to build a championship program. Clemson and Bama have gone at it very differently and Herman appears to be taking Clemson's approach. Time will tell if he's got the right coaching staff and support staff in place to pull it off. The trajectory is good at the moment, so let's see if we take the next step this year.
  20. TFB has a note on Jalen Milroe being back on campus
  21. There are several in that category who took visits to Aggy... Lindberg and Broughton come to mind right off the top.
  22. Good chance we won't be with the type of season we all hope to see. Just pointing out even if we don't have that type of season we'll be hard-pressed to finish outside the top 10. This staff isn't perfect and arguments can be made they aren't maximizing recruiting results, but the reality is we haven't been relevant in a decade. Our facilities were outdated, mediocre conference, etc., and this staff has still manufactured top 5 classes in successive years. I suspect this year will be the same or very close to it when it's all said and done.
  23. Messing around with the calculator given the negative trends of late (no Bijan, Ransom, Ringo or Washington) and doing some projecting based on those trends. Worst case scenario looks like a 265-275 overall score and per recruit score in the .9150 range. That's a borderline top 10 class. Basically, unless we completely regress on the field this upcoming season we'll almost assuredly finish in the top 10 with this class one way or the other.
