Was there a press conference?
Not much of one.
The bottom line is ... unclear.
I think Sark may have figured out that while he isn't necessarily on a hot seat, he is in a position where he needs a W. Close but no cigar won't be close enough.

Court Jester was pretty funny, and a couple of good-looking women in Glynis Johns and Angela Lansbury (yeah, she was younger once). Personally, I laughed at Danny Kaye in several movies, and The Inspector General was a lot funnier. The "pocketa-pocketa-pocketa" in Secret Life of Waler Mitty was straight outta the book - I still hear it anytime Danny shows up on a screen...

whoa... a two tight end set
Judging from the expressions, I'd think there might be a Wide Receiver in the mix.

Elizabeth Barrett Browning couldn’t do any better. 🫡 🤘🏻
Hmmmm... probably true, but I think the situation calls more for John Moses Browning.

I'm pulling this out my ass, but I'm pretty sure head coaches and been suspended or re-assigned without being fired before, within an athletic department, while essentially being fired later. That was awhile back, so maybe contract language has changed/mitigated that, over time.
I've not encountered it anywhere, so I figured it doesn't happen. But, damn, it seems like a pretty obvious method of getting into a situation where a school can ditch a coach and put him into a position of being amenable to a negotiated exit.
-
I've asked, but never seen an answer, whether coaching contracts do or might contain language allowing the school to assign the head coach to another position (keeping the salary, of course) and/or to assign another person to a position of authority over the head coach?
I mean, you know, like like like, you know, not "you're fired" but like "you aren't running the team any more, asswipe, go stand over there and keep your mouth shut."
Somewhere in the Contracts there are clauses relating to insubordinate behavior...no? Probably within a page or two of the Morality clauses?'

Orgeron won because he caught lightning in a bottle with Burrow as QB and Brady as OC.
Kelly couldn't catch a bottle full of lightning if it hit him in the hands.

Would you say that Les Miles and Ed Orgeron are better coaches than Brian Kelly?
Why would you not say that?

Super unlikely that garden-variety birddogging rises to this level, especially if they didn’t invoke it when they canned him. A court won’t look kindly on using the thread of invoking it after the fact to negotiate your buyout down. If he violated the clause, they should have said so and terminated him for that reason.
Be fair: Thread of Invoking is a decent band name, especially in Luzyanna, although probably better used in Voudon contexts.

I've got a bit of optimism. I think we can win, but it'll take errybody playing well, not another one where offense or defense or specials fuck up and the other two carry the load and prevail. If all three play well, we win. Any one of them establishes pooch-screwing, and we likely lose... two eat shit and we definitely take the L.
Bottom line: there are multiple scenarios that end with a W for the Good Guys, and I won't be surprised at either outcome.

So... no Morality Clause in Kelly's contract? Maybe just no proof of violations (yet)...

seems like CBS, Fox, and NBC might have something to say about that.
Something like "awwwww, shit"? It's not what they could say, rather what yje could actually do about it.
That could be the holdup on the purchase. Mouse already basically owns SEC. Would be interesting to see the effect if CBS et al quit carrying SEC games.
Maybe there's some relationship between broadcast and network...
-
Was talking about this whole fuckup, and someone opined that the intent of The Mouse is to keep things shitty untill his purchase of NFL network is approved, which gives him almost complete control of all Football.
WTF?

I have been in the PNW and seen 40's and pouring rain in the summer.
Can confirm. Had a client in Eugene and spent some time there one summer, guys who sold tennis shoes or something. It was cool to coldish and wet, with lots of trees dripping on everything. They claimed there was a sun somewhere on the other side of the trees, but I never saw it.

The real culprit here is Disney, which seems likely to own all of the HD antenna companies. Things won't get back to "normal" until the antennas hit their sales target. Get out there and buy. Now.

... defender is stopping him from running his route.
Yes, he is... well, trying to, any road. Defender is not required to get out of his way. It matters how he got there, but the clip doesn't show that. From what we can see, the defender is back-pedalling and looking back, and the receiver pushes him over backwards.

DB literally playing the man and not the ball.
? First frame DB appears to ve backpedalling and have head turned, looking toward the QB, both have hands on each other. DB has no duty to get out of the way, Receiver shoves DB down.
Should have been OPI, declined. Earlier footage might show DB interfering, but not in the given clip.

Best Huey Long story:
LSU getting ready for big Homecoming weekend. Kingfish notices circus coming to town, calls up Mr Ringling (or whichever circus it was), tells him "Hey, we having a Big Parade on Saturday, floats, Fightin' Tagger Band, and all. Folks gonna follow along to Tagger Stadium for the Game. We gonna need a couple of your taggers right out front, leadin' the way."
Mr Ringling says, "Well, our private train be comin' in from Houston, and we'll be there, all right. But we have a policy and we don't loan out our animals, no sir."
Huey says, "We'd really appreciate it if you could make an exception here."
Mr Ringling says "Senator, I wish we could help, but no can do. Sorrry."
Kingfish says "No problem, Mr Ringling... say, that train of yours, it's got the tents, the clowns, all the livestock, all the people, right?"
Mr Ringling says "Yessir, but our animals aren't livestock, properly speaking."
Kingfish says "Well, according to the laws of the State of Louisiana, live animals comin' into the state gotta be inspected for diseases and whatnot. Well, and they gotta be dipped for parasites and all. Gonna be a problem, dippin' them lions and taggers, not to mention elephants. You know, we could waive the livestock inspections if them taggers was gonna be in the parade..."
Mr Ringling says "What time does the parade start?"
