  1. Sark thinks we didn't play well on either side of the LOS.
  2. But at least they're playing Texas Fight every few seconds...
  3. Does any of the gang that visited The Swamp recall seeing Connor Stalions standing near Sun Bely Billy on the sideline?
  4. Which was lost because Mack had only one backup QB, a freshman with poor eyesight, who had taken fairly few snaps, only in garbage time, who was your Sunday Newspaper Parade Magazine High School Football Player of the Year, and on basically about the same level as Arch at the same age. Unfortuately your Shoulda-had-the-Heisman QB - a Mister McCoy - got speared in the shoulder by a 500-pound Bammer DL, allowed by refs to try a few throws to see if he could play, and couldn't. Texas had to take an official time out to do the testing and allow QB2 to find his helmet, which wound up taking long enough that the refs threatened to charge another time out. The Kid finally found his helmet, got in the game and converted a couple TD opportunities into field goals. Although Texas came close, Bama scored two more TDs in desperation/garbage time of the last couple of minutes and made it look like a three score blowout. After the game, Mack announced that he was going to follow the example of the other team's Head Coach, Saban, and create a running team. He didn't mention that he allegedly had told his Defensive Coordinator, Will Muschamp, that he was going to retire after the game and Coach Muschamp, whose official title included the words "Head Coach In Waiting" would be the new Head Coach. Mack allegedly excused himself by claiming he never said he was going to retire, but that he was planning to retire... but had simply changed his plans. You can imagine how happy Muschamp was. That, mind you, was at the end of the 2009 season. Me? I put the start of the Wildeness Wandering right there.
  5. Hmmm... if we can find some large, athletic humans for the team, should we keep Flood or nah? I mean, other than evaluation, is he the guy?
  6. Big humans - check No athleticism - check Hmmmm... maybe the man got a point there...
  7. Last time Sark was an HC, his OC drove him to drink, and he got fired. For cause, no buyout and the OC got his job. Would you ever hire another OC?
  8. No Wife. No Horse. No Mustache.
  9. Miz Long (Criminal Defense Lawyer) espouses this view. She sees Mack Brown as the guy who shit all over the house on his way out the door, and being allowed back in later. She thinks he's probably shitting in the closets and the pantry right now.
  10. I hope they do, but they almost certainly won't.
  11. It has been difficult to believe that any sort of practice involving first team OL versus first, even second, team DL could leave a single coach, player, or casual observer with the impression that the OL is fully functional. The OL coach is also the co-OC for Run Game. There may be some correspondences to be drawn.
  12. Not unless they want to be banned. On the other hand, if I were a journo, I might plan on getting banned and build a PR $9.95 campaign for post-banning... Seven-win Steve Sarkisian bans Tough Question Surly
  13. TIL Gnarly is narly is nearly.
  14. If I were bankrolling a team, I'd want information in return, and it would have to be information that Vegas didn't get.
  15. Is UT paying Mack Brown?
  16. No. 9-3 means no CCG, and we're not in with that record. At 10-3 with CCG game, win or lose, we might get in. Def in with a CCG win, even at 10-3.
  17. For you non-rugger types... Rugby scores five for a try that succesfully is touched down. The conversion kick scores two. Penalty and dropkicks score three. A try and a conversion gets you seven, just like American Football. Conversions are harder in Rugby, because the ball is placed perpendicular to where the touchdown is accomplished, so a TD near the corner means you're kicking from near the sideline, thus 5 is not at all unusual score.
  18. Rent fucking FREE... and you have no idea what's about to happen to you when those horns go down...
  19. Count me in on being pleased - and not surprised - at seeing Niblett looking like a football player coming out of the backfield. Been waiting to see him there. Hope it stays on track.
  20. Story I heard was that Mack saw him as a DB and told him so. He wasn't interested, and there was no offer.
  21. FUPM (allegedly) telling Manziel and Griffin that they were going to be DB or WR and not offering a solid shot at QB was definitely vintage Mack.
  22. Squints didn't have uncles with Super Bowl wins, but his dad held - and I believe still holds - the record for Super Bowl Futility, i.e. FIVE Super Bowl Second Place rings, albeit only carrying s clipboard. Be fair, though, his dad was the Cal QB who kinda sorta beat John Elway when the Stanford band marched onto the field while the game was still live and let Cal's rugby kick return score the winning TD.
  23. Aussie Rules, or footy, puts a huge premium on accurate punting, both distance and direction. Dickson was - and is - masterful at those. In footy, the ball is moved best by punting to your own team. A ball caught before it hits the ground is the target, and Dickson regularly put the ball inside the ten yard line where the return man would let it go, hoping for a touchback, but a Longhorn would be there to down it. PM Banks and Bouwmeester.
