  1. Rebuilder. B-i-l sells that shit to rebuilders and body shops. Cash only, no credit.

    Getting old sucks

That's the one you use for wiping. Touch anything in the store with it, and you just bought it.
  3. You win that bet. I once helped my brother-in-law load up a Lincoln Town Car - well, half of one - that had been hit from the back by a Semi and destroyed up to the back of the front seat. I mean, folded up and fucking destroyed, nothing left, out on IH 40 west of Amarillo, a few hours before we went after it. He had bought it off the Insurer, sight unseen, for about $4500. I was incredulous, and he explained that it was only a few months old and had under 10K on the odometer. He started naming off the salvage value of the hood, grill, bumper, engine, etc. I stopped him when he got to $9,000 worth. It was a pretty good payback for about three hours worth of work. The McLaren half gonna be worth some bucks, no doubt.
  4. Yah, buncha people saw that. I figured there might be someone's nephew at Candyworld HQ that thought it would be a Good Idea to chocolate-coat their PayDay, so I asked Google, and Google asked AI, and AI said The ingredients in a PayDay bar are: Peanuts Sugar Corn syrup Skim milk Vegetable oil, such as palm, sunflower, shea, palm kernel, or safflower oil 2% or less of the following: whey, salt, lecithin, carrageenan, mono- and diglycerides, vanillin (artificial flavor) Proof positive. No chocolate, or I woulda been told, right? Right?
  5. Trick question. Ain't no chocolate in a PayDay bar.
  6. Elimination Mode ftw. The SEC CCG fiasco kept us out of a decent band name for quite a while. Thanks, Hank.
  7. At this point, I'd be happy to see him deliver that 5-yard run to make it 2nd and 5... and STAY in the fucking game. I'm guessing Sark's plan is to have him throw instead of running, next time... if there is a next time.
  8. I think one of their players said as much after the first game. Something along the lines of "we knew what they were running, on every play." Wasn't sure at the time if they were listening in on the radio, or we were showing some tell, or the talking heads that said Sark had no tendencies are wrong.
  9. Apparently there is some (probably SECSECSEC) rule against throwing water bottles onto the field. But... is there any rule against throwing water bottles at other folks in the stands - you know, like people playing musical instruments?
  10. Well, there is a fine piece of information here. The best way to make errybody completely forget about the coach you just fired is to hire a GOAT, instead of hiring Corch Potatohead. Who knew?
  11. A little off, other than a NIL payday. I love Maalik and what he did for us and with us, and he has always seemed like a great young man. However, I gotta agree with the assessment of his play as "fine" rather than "great". He strikes me as more like Tyrone than like Vince. I don't know that a year at Oregon or wherever would provide a big boost to his draft stock, but take it for what it's worth. Me, I believe I'd rather get another 9-3 year and a Duke diploma. What makes sense to me is that he's been to tamperville and has a guaranteed NIL payday somewhere. I reckon we'll see. Still... I wish him the best possible outcome, and I still appreciate his time at Texas.
  12. After due consideration, it is apparent that the real problem here is that Moore is approximately a foot and a half too short. A 7'6" receiver would easily catch that ball. Concomitantly, the entire argument shows that we can all agree that there are a whole lot of fucking morons on this site, and in this forum, and in this thread. Unfortunately, we don't seem to be able to agree on just who the morons are. That discussion should be carried on in a new thread, and not limited to a thread concerning a specific player, corch, or position. If there is already such a thread, than I stand corrected, and would appreciate it if one of you morons would be so good as to post a link to it.
  13. No problems. The regular season is done. It's playoff time. You've been howling for the backup? Your voices have been heard: it's Arch time. The Legend Begins.
  14. C'mon guys, let's run one of those horizontal passes again... it's bound to work this time. By the way, did we ever hear anything about Gibson?
  15. Well... I suppose that's a relief, isn't it?
  16. Ah. Confirmed. No one is this stupid. ...or so persistent.
  17. This is a bit, right? This is someone's sock, isn't it?
  18. Probably stupid question, if not outright regarded, but... who do we have in the coaching booth?
  19. No. No, I don't. I expect to go to a spot, and I run to that spot. I'd like to be between the dback and the ball, so he has to go through me to get to the ball. Whether that's long or outside, I don't care as long as I'm between the dback and the ball. If I don't have a good chance to catch it, I'd expect to see if I can get the dback to PI me. I did. That was Arch, and was that Cook, before he fired himself? The ball location looked pretty much the same. Cook got there, Moore didn't. Yes, Cook looked inside, but he had better separation. All in all, it looks like Moore just stayed too far inside. If he'd looked the other way, I think he'd have caught it, but I suppose he's beencoached to look inside, although apparently not to run to the spot. I'd have to go back and look again... but I'm not really in the mood to get involved in another dumbass and pointless argument. Maybe it would somehow be more productive to discuss the pros and cons of running yet another horizontal run/pass play for plus or minus a couple of yards. The silver lining here is that we're still on track, and then we'll have a different quarterback to bitch about next season. Hook'em
  20. Several times over the season we have seen QB and receivers not on the same page. This miss in OT looks like more of the same. At a time when there was basically no such term as WR, I was "lonesome end", not in huddle but signaled by QB with a pretty damn simple route tree or just "block". The in/out was dependent on the halfback - I mean "defensive back" - guarding me... he go outside, I go inside or vice versa. Honestly, though, I don't think we threw it more than eight or ten times per game. This was sixty-odd years ago, but I don't believe that part of the pass game has changed so much... if the defender is inside, I expected the ball outside; if he's outside, I expected it inside. All that just to say, I don't think Quinn was wrong to throw it outside. Moore should have been looking for it there. Your mileage may vary. Hook'em
  21. Every Surly is happier with Almost-even Steven at the helm than we were with Corch Potato or MensaTom. There may be some who would dispute that, but they show themselves to be only PseudoSurly by that very ignorance. That said, most of Surly agrees that "almost" is not quite good enough. Where we differ in our shitty opinions is the nature of the next step, the one that takes us over that last hurdle and into the Promised Land. My shitty opinion is that Sark needs to quit being Saban the Goat's super OC and step into Saban's shoes and direct all three of his Coordinators instead of being OC first and HC second on Game Day. As HC, the job is to formulate the strategy and make sure the Coordinators not only know, but DO, what is tactically and operationally necessary. More shitty opinion. Milwee is not ready to become that OC. He can't even coach Ewers out of his widely-criticized flaws, and apparently totally defers to Sarkisian instead of speaking truth. All that said... yeah, Sark is really, really good, and so is the team he's built. Not one of us is happy about the fact that Kirby Smart has proven himself to be the better HC - or at least the luckiest. Like you, I'm more than ready to see that next step taken, and we all need to be aware that we are still on that path, right this very instant. We stumbled, but we're still on the path. Let's take care of Clemson. Hook'em
