  1. Fuck Mack Brown. "Fuck" is not profane. At worst, you may consider it to be vulgar, which is "common", i.e. of the common folk. While a high proportion of Surlies consider us to be above and beyond common, there is a certain amount of Truth revealed in our language and convictions.
  2. Non-pedophile here. Team Meteorite.
  3. Talking head #1: Yogi, it says here you hold the all-time baseball record with 25 RBI in one day. Talking head #2: Yes, but it was two games. Yogi: You're both wrong, it was a double-header.
  4. Power company handed out covers featuring Reddy Kilowatt, who promised that if we let them build Nuclear Power plants, electricity would be so cheap they wouldn't even bother with putting meters on your house.
  5. Yogi also pointed out that the game is 90% mental and the other half is physical.
  6. His Mom and Dad loved his brother, Watson, and barely even liked Mack. He has life-long issues from that, and will never change.

    Bert!

Too lazy to see if mentioned yet, but the last few games I've rewatched, it looks like he's rushing his first step and slowing the next, leading to a jerky motion. Maybe the holder is doing something different... just a thought, for the kickers here; I was a punter but definitely not a place kicker.
  8. Meanwhile, back at trivial things that make you surly... Posters who are already in the running for Bad Opinions Nobility but will also defend shitty opinions with repetitive responses, to the point of making threads unreadable, even when reasonably astute, even somewhat courteous, Surly folks point out the abject stupidity of their statements. I have been guilty of this on multiple occasions, but not multiple times per day on a daily basis, day after day after day.
  9. I went through a lot of Volvos (couple of 1xx and bunch of 2xx), as well as VWs. Mainly for the kids as they started driving... wanted them in a bulletproof vehicle, and it worked. Always wanted a P1800, but one never appeared at the right time.
  10. Back then I had a neighbor who went and got a Karmann Ghia convertible, and we built a 1600cc+ with Porsche-quality Brasilian parts. Also did same with running gear, and that sumbitch was a fucking blast to drive - run 100mph easy peasy.
  11. You're right about a lot of things. This is not one of those.
  12. Well, technically you do all four cylinders, but #3 runs the hottest because of the fan's air flow design. Solid lifters, gotta keep 'em adjusted. All you need are a 19mm box, 10mm box, flathead screwdriver, and a feeler gauge. When you first start, it's a once-a-week at least a little bit of adjustment on all four. After a month, every other week, and then once a month or so. Park it Friday night where you can slide under on Saturday morning, leave it stone cold, ten or fifteen minutes tops. Haven't looked in years, but last time I did, there were still some manufacturers in Brasil making parts. Bet still plenty here and there.
  13. Tree fiddy FTMFW
  14. ... aaand my second thought (because I actually still carry a Swiss Army pocketknife, and have used it to open a can in the last year...).
  15. Exactly. My first thought when the electric can opener wasn't able to handle it.
  16. They work fine, if the moron who loads the napkins puts in 20 of them, like the boss told him or her, instead of cramming 113 into it, which results in that 50 or nothing.
  17. Could be wunna them cow-calf deals, too.
  18. The Key here is the Big Burnt Orange Blob in Will Howard's mind. We get to him a few times - hits, sacks, INTs, whtever - and he will collapse in a puddle of choke snail vomit. The Front Line has to get by the tOSU blockers, and get to him. I think it's more likely than not that they do. Hook'em
  19. SIAP, but Slug Vomit may be the best band name of the post season.
  20. Where can we get a prop on tOSU -41 being negative?
  21. I have to admit I was okay with losing to Kansas if that's what it took to quit whining about racism and fire the incompetent motherfucker. Cheer for it? No. Upset at losing? Not very much, other than not having lost to them since beore aggy's last Number 1 year.
  22. According to Paul Bryant, "winning isn't everything, but it's way the hell ahead of whatever's in second place."
