  1. One score down going into the 4th quarter is room for doubt in the outcome. You're right, Beck was not particularly good. Fact.
  2. Nah. Doesn't have to be vastly so... just ummmm better. Okay, a lot better, just not vast, and particularly if accompanied by somebody stepping up in the RB room.
  3. This needs to be the illustration in the Urban Dictionary next to the definition of "ass-and-a-half".

True dat. Still... doesn't hurt to have a couple of Aces in one boot and a .22 loaded with Velocitors in the other.
  5. All things considered, we did actually win the second half, 15-7. If we and they take care of business, we can play them again, this season. And it's even possible we play them twice... this season.
  6. Minister of Culture needs to go back to his flat circle.
  7. This is my feeling as well. We know he can do it right, we've seen it. The throwing motion, nothing but arm, seems like it's residual pain and/or simple fear of re-injury. The footwork and pocket presence problems pretty much have to be fear of getting hit - I don't see him just forgetting what to do, and I don't see Sark/Milwee letting it slide. If he's still hurt, let him rest and heal. If he just can't handle the fear... move forward. I agree with what appears to be consensus - if he's physically okay, give him a few series at Vandy, and if he can't perform... move forward.
  8. On the other hand, every college QB is young enough to be my grandson, so there's that.
  9. Being ranked 230 means either means 100 FCS teams' QBs are better, or most of the CFP schools have backups better. Not a Good Look.
  10. Be fair, he could do it, but he'd need to lay off the hookers jewelers and blow.
  11. Josh Pate addressed the reffing problem. He had already done this a few weeks back, when SEC refs basically fucked South Carolina against LSU, and the horrendous DPI call favoring Georgia was more of the same. Two things: (1) lack of continuity between conferences, and (2) lack of accountability. His proposed solution is to have straight NCAA refs and for them to be paid, full-time professionals. The NCAA has become increasingly irrelevant for a number of years, and I think it's a bad idea to give it any leverage at all. I'd like to see SEC and B1G get together and hire a group, and if ACC and XII have any sense, join that. Any game played by a member would have those refs, period. Any accountability at all would be a hell of a lot more than there is now.
  12. Son, if you aren't the real Derka, you're doing a damned good job of pretending, and I salute you.

I think the first "thing" cut off my face/head was around 1972, when I was 29. It was a basal cell carcinoma. Last one was ummmm about six weeks ago. In between, probably a couple of times a year. They've almost all been basal cell with a few squamous cell (and a few that were benign), and the last five years or so, every six months the Dermo's PA looks, takes samples, and we get the result in a week or two. Sounds huge, but I have only a couple of noticeable scars. Bottom line, to your question, no news is not necessarily "good", but if it were really bad, you'd probably already have heard. They'd already have ID'd a melanoma, and the other two cancers are not super dangerous, just take care of reasonably quickly. NOTE: Not medical Doc, just speaking from extensive experience.
  14. Did we not just find that out? Cue "outlier" comments.
  15. "Coach, right there on your podium... is that one of the bottles from Saturday night? Or at least, the same brand?"
  16. Damn, two band names in four words. Hayseeds Flyover Country
  17. aggy no longer has the best loss. UGa lost to 'Bama, ND lost to (checks notes) Directional Illinois. Prediction: aggy points out ND was so badly beaten up from their trip to Collie Station that they couldn't handle their next game, claims advantage. Caveat: every cloud has a silver lining aggy advantage.
  18. Are you under the impression that the world in general considers Texas - the University or the State - as being "classy"?
  19. I believe you refer to the conflict known more precisely as the War of Northern Aggression, do you not? In which case, the correct response likely would be "Pour quoi non les deux?" or perhaps "Warum nicht beides?" if you prefer more brutal language.
  20. My young friend, Armybrat, was incorrect in his assessment, I believe. However, while I agree with your apparent disdain for his attitude, I must point out that you are incorrect in his (and my) generational designation. Neither of us is a "boomer". We are, in fact, War Babies. I hope you will take this information to heart, and use the preferred nomenclature from now on.
  21. After the Trey Owens Should Starts thread.
  22. The oblique injury lingering explains the shitty throws. Going back to bailing out of the pocket instead of stepping up, is just strange... maybe the pain just puts him on autopilot and it's got the old, wrong flight plan. It's hard to believe that same stuff - especially the throwing problems - doesn't show up in practice. Sark has to be aware, Milwee has to be aware. The argument about Arch not having the experience or familiarity with the playbook is meaningless when Quinn can't make the plays in the first place. As said before, I think Quinn is still hurting, and he simply is not able to "play through the pain." Maybe we just need to get him some dirt to rub on it.
