  1. My young friend, Armybrat, was incorrect in his assessment, I believe. However, while I agree with your apparent disdain for his attitude, I must point out that you are incorrect in his (and my) generational designation. Neither of us is a "boomer". We are, in fact, War Babies. I hope you will take this information to heart, and use the preferred nomenclature from now on.
  2. After the Trey Owens Should Starts thread.
  3. The oblique injury lingering explains the shitty throws. Going back to bailing out of the pocket instead of stepping up, is just strange... maybe the pain just puts him on autopilot and it's got the old, wrong flight plan. It's hard to believe that same stuff - especially the throwing problems - doesn't show up in practice. Sark has to be aware, Milwee has to be aware. The argument about Arch not having the experience or familiarity with the playbook is meaningless when Quinn can't make the plays in the first place. As said before, I think Quinn is still hurting, and he simply is not able to "play through the pain." Maybe we just need to get him some dirt to rub on it.
  4. Dear Mr. Sec: Please be advised that we have received your communication levying a fine of $250,000 against us and requiring an investigation and report identifying as many of the approximately 15,000 persons believed to be guilty of the alleged manual projection of objects and potentially causing serious bodily injury to referees whose incredibly incompetent game management appears to have initiated the incident. We have already commenced the investigation, and it is abundantly apparent that it will be extremely time-consuming and will need quite a few investigators. Fortunately, it appears that we will be able to create a NIL component to pay substantial amounts to several dozen student-athletes to assist with Public Service Appearances needed to carry out the needed work. While we have no accurate assessment of the time and dollar amounts the entire effort will need, you should rest assured that we will spare no effort or expense to complete it at the earliest possible date. No doubt you will understand that we will not be able to forward the $250,000 fine until the reports detailing the results of our investigation have been completed to both our and your satisfaction. In the meantime, you may wish to examine the implications of Sovereign Immunity as relating to the public educational institutions of the State of Texas. Sincerely yours, [REDACTED]
  5. Saban won seven(?) NCs, but only two were undefeated teams. We're not out of contention.
  6. On the bright side, if this doesn't push Sark off the wagon, it's all good.
  7. Quinn plays like he's (already) hurt. The "oblique" injury looks to be lingering, resulting in trying to avoid any contact. Seems like he's started bailing backwards again instead of stepping up. Thought we were done with that, but...
  8. How does it go? Lies, Damned Lies, and something something...
  9. Best thing in this thread for the last several pages... Follow the Pocket is a damned good band name.
  10. As are most of us. The heavyweights I'm looking for are Clay and Liston.
  11. The script is already written. It's really more of an outline than a script, in that the outcomes are dependent on each other, but it's done. There will be three meetings of Georgia and Texas this season. In this first one, it is anticipated that Texas will prevail, but the Dawgs might win if their QB has a stellar day against our DBs. Either way, it likely will be reffed to a one-possession final margin. The second meeting, of course, will be in the CCG. In it, the loser of the first game will win. The preferred, although not required, is that Georgia wins the CCG, simply because the members are quite adamant about not having Texas walk into the conference and snatch the trophy. This, of course, means that we win the first game, but if we don't, we will be rewarded with the conference crown instead. Both teams will be in the playoffs - the CCG winner of course being in the top four, and the loser in the other eight. It makes things more comfortable if two-loss Georgia is the top four team, as a one-loss Texas is inarguably included in the playoffs. This makes me think the refs either allow or assist us in the first game. The third meeting is in the playoffs. Ideally in the Grand Finale, but the politicking required to insure that may be beyond Commissioner Stankey's reach. We shall see. Hook'em
  12. I don't care what the score is, we win, and most likely cover the Vegas line. SEC head office recognizes we are going to be the cash cow for the next few years, and there is no way they will let the refs do anything to let UGA win. Bank it.
  13. I wanted Straight Arrow, but Cool Arrow is what I got.
  14. Half the time there isn't enough time. New aggy motte toe?
  15. Thanks for saying what goes without saying. Although, we'll have to overlook your capitalization faux pas of referencing a&m as A&M. 's OK, this time, but don't make a habit of it.
  16. aggy got best loss in cfb and t-sips got no loss at all.
  17. I dunno if Mack has the mindset to be able to hang 'em up, smile, wave, and bask in whatever good will is left. Reminds me of one of Ron White's lines: "They told me I had the right to remain silent, but I didn't have the ability." Mack knows that the "right thing" is to admit that being a football Head Coach is beyond the faculties he still has, at his age, and urge the 'Heels to start a youth movement. He does know this, but I suspect his ego will get the better of him, and despite pleas and good intentions from everyone around him, he'll make them fire him. I kinda wish he'll go on his own, dignity intact. I kinda feel like I could forgive him for the way he left here. Kinda, but... no. Fuck Mack
  18. Yah. It went straight to the coffee can with the other 497 keys and 53 key rings. Sweater gawd I'm gonna make a lamp shade outta that shit someday.
  19. The same words I used when Miz Long asked what I thought about the game. "Well, babe, Quinn was not what he's been in the first few games, so maybe a C for the offense, but 0U was so bad we won handily..." That said, we need Quinn to be back to Meatchicken form. We get that, we win. We don't get that, it gets dicey, but I think the strong D comes through for us. Hook'em
  20. Fortunately for him, there are people even stupider, who apparently believe that hiring him to write stupid shit is a good way to keep newspapers relevant.

    QUINTREVION

Been really liking his effort and intensity for a couple of seasons now. This is what Coach means when he tells you "All I want is all you have."
