  1. ... BADLY out-coached. NOTE: Sorry, too late to edit.
  2. Translation: ... the Agency will not comment until all facts are known and the reviews have been completed, and we have found ourselves blameless.
  3. when you play the first half of your game even-phteven, and then lose the second half 24-zip... you've been out-coached.
  4. 'Bout enough of that shit. Now... is it safe?

    Getting old sucks

My grandma got to the vicinity of that point, and one of my uncles built a "mother-in-law house" for her at his place. They had a good year or two, but she eventually needed basically full-time supervision. Uncle, my mom, other siblings decided that the only thing they could do was to get her in "assisted living". They explained to grandma what was going to happen and what a great place they found for her. She said she wasn't going to go. They were upset she took it badly. But she was right: two days before she was to go to her new place, she didn't wake up when they took her morning coffee.
  8. Are those available without the bullshit "At Austin"? People ask me "Where'd you go to school?" My answer does not have the words "At Austin" in it. There were - and are - two answers: either "Texas" or "The University".
  9. If you had been offered to have the Georgia game be one score behind at the start of the fourth quarter... would you take it? Would. The problem was that we had just scored after the Bottle Deluge, kicked off and pinned UGa on their own 10... had them 3rd and 10, but then given up two consecutive passes for 60+ yards. Bad time for the D to fail - although we almost pulled off a massive goal line stand. All things considered, neither team looked all that great. They weren't that good, and we weren't that bad. They played better in Q4 and won. Play 'em again, with a healthy QB and something at least resembling a run game, I don't see any reason to fear another loss.
  10. Bama loses one more game, it'll be their worst season in 15 years.
  11. I was at a client's site. Owner's daughter had her 5-year-old there. Noisy little shit, screaming and hollering, running in and out. I was walking down the hall to talk to owner, 5-year-old running up the hall, punched me, right in one of my favorite testicles. Hurt like motherfucker. I gave him a nougie with middle finger middle knuckle, and he ran screeching into Grampa's office, holding his wounded head... no blood, just a little red mark. Told grampa, "That man hit me on my head." Grampa asked him "What did you do to him?" Kid just sniffled and sobbed. I said, "Punched me in the nuts, Dave - sorry, just a reaction, gave him a knot on his head." Grampa picked him up, and told him... "Joey, look at me. Joey, when you hit some people, some people hit back. Go play outside." He did. We laughed.
  12. Why do you hate juvenile humor? Did you never go trick-or-treating and fire up a couple of flaming bags of dog shit as tricks?
  13. Pretty sure all recruits - QBs and other positions - come into our program with high expectations, some higher than others, true. So, we have Great Quarterbacks and busts. Great QBs get drafted to NFL, become starters, make All Pro, win a Super Bowl or a few. Busts are errybody else. Busts are caused by lack of physical talent, lack of effort, lack of mental ability, or unfortunate injuries. Got it.
  14. Ash was pretty decent, in his two healthy years. Definitely not a bust, other than healthwise. One thing I wanted him to do was punt. He was the 5A (or however many A's they had then) All State punter in HS. Just the threat with your QB in the game on fourth down means the D can't go to Special Team personnel without having serious preparation. You don't even need to line up in punt formation - just shotgun/dropback lets you do plenty of things whether you kick it away or not. Woulda been more fun than pregame jet packs, anyway...
  15. Tell me you've never lived through a tornado, without telling me you've never lived through a tornado.
  16. Listen to this man, he speaks the language of experienced truth.
  17. Be fair, though. Jet pack pre-game would be much more impressive in the basketball arena.
  18. Yah, I get it. I shower before bed, maybe shower in morning depending on overnight activities. What I don't do is shower before workouts. All-in-all I think rage-a-holic got it right.
  19. Depends. Do you shower before going outside to do a few hours of yard work?

    Cart Narcs

Depends on whether that front wheel is wobbling around.
  21. You must be thinking of Kyle Field.
  22. Yeah, but didn't like that one-footed backwards hop. Looked like he was favoring the right leg.
  23. Regarding the Holding calls... A few years back a Longhorn NFL veteran (I think it was Blake Brockermeyer) was being interviewed and mentioned that one of his teammates was almost never called for holds despite the fact that he held on damn nearly every snap. He asked the guy how he got away with it, and the answer was that he always wore gloves the same color as the opponents' jerseys, so his hands didn't stand out to the refs' views. Makes sense to me...
