  1. I think you are correct. I suspect, too, that Arch will not just have, but use, more freedom to change the call.
  2. Strongly believe we'll be back in the Final Four again. Last season was a little anomalous, with other three of the previous four losing their coaches. This season starts with a big ol' bang. I'd like for us to win that opener, but I think either outcome, it'll set the tone for the whole thing. Buckeyes got a lot of talent, but we do as well. Barring injuries in the wrong positions, we should be back, again. We will all devoutly pray that Sark has seen the light in the Red Zone.
  3. My younger daze, klobasniki were sausage (AKA Pigs-in-a-blanket), kolaches were fruit. Definitely distinct. Where there were Polacks insteada Czechs, that pork sausage was kielbasa, but they still had a version rolled up in bread. Still... yum for breakfast, sausages and fruit.
  4. Woke up horny this morning. Wife's visiting her sisters for a few days, so I just called my favorite "phone sex worker". Turned out she's on vacation. Her voicemail message said "I'm out of town for a few days. Sorry, you can't come to the phone right now."
  5. I would think so, but I haven't had to actually see any in action... yet. ... although, I will say I've heard some strenuous typing.
  6. Is it wrong to hope we get to play No'th Ca'lina in the CFP?
  7. Where's the Nazis in Uruguay/Paraguay thread?
  8. I've never bought an umbrella, although I did try, once. I had found myself on a plaza in a small town in Spain. There was not a cloud in the sky, it was noon, and I felt like I was in danger of ignition. I found a shop with men's wear on display, and in my not merely broken but compoundedly fractured attempt at Spanish, I tried to come up with some description of an umbrella. The young man trying to help me with my desired purchase finally gave up, motioned for me to bide a while, went next door and returned with an older gentleman who spoke a bit of English. They jabbered at each other for a few minutes. The older man turned to me and asked "My young friend wishes to know why you want a parachute with which to whip your horse? The store did not have any such thing, and I resorted to going to the nearby hotel, and alternately shower and loll in the bed until shadows crept across that plaza. I have bought wooden clothespins, though. They are nearly always in use in my kitchen, holding closed various sacks and bags of bread, chips, chocolates and whatnot, far better than any plastic pieces of chinese clipcrap I've ever seen.
  9. Miz Long has become a CFB fan the last year or two. Last night, she went off on a rant about NIL, apparently caused by some story about Arch turning down an offer from 'Bama of eleven million dollars to transfer to T-town. I've not seen any reference to such an offer, so I'm assuming she ran across this in some thread in one of her lawyer forums. Without screwing around searching for the possible source, have any Surlies run across such a story?
  10. When did the spelling of "whoa" change to "woah" - noticed it as an alternate for years, but now it seems to be the only one.
  11. How many times did we watch Garrett Gilbert squinting at the sideline, trying to figure out how many fingers coach was holding up?

    Getting old sucks

Not until my birthday... You've spelt "chronometer" incorrectly.
  15. 1. She files a T&L Advance request, gets a company check, deposits it. 2. Goes on trip, pays for all expenses with company credit card including any necessary purchases such "replacement laptops" and "tailoring"; keeps all receipts. 3. Files Expense Reimbursement report using all expenses' receipts, gets company check, deposits it. Profit. If she's not following the plan, you need to mansplain it to her.
  16. we Awesome... except that the 'splosion is with DIET Coke, not regular.
  17. Prepare to be shocked, then. We don't need to run Arch against those in order to seal a Win... but we damned sure need to practice and to show the ability. It's all well and good to have a QB with zero run threat... when you've got a RB or two of Bijan or uninjured Brooks abilities. We didn't have that last season, or in the CFP previous. Whether we have that in the upcoming season - and CFP - remains to be seen. Having both that sort of hero RB and a running threat at QB... that, I firmly believe, will propel us to the pinnacle. Gonna be a fun ride.
  18. Nah. The QB run threat has to be real. Regardless of opponent, when they fail to cover it, you run or at least option it to the pitch/pop guys left uncovered.
  19. What are the odds you'd see the same EMTs three times in a row?

Interestingly, the 18-year-old not only does not age for the next twenty years, he continues to wonder that same thing, he does so nearly every time he sees his reflection in mirrors and other shiny surfaces.
  21. If things had been different, then they wouldn't be the same.
  22. Carriers or no, if Yamamoto had the sense to take out the fuel tanks, the Pacific war likely would have been quite different.
  23. "Canadian" means a can a day? That's it? A can a day? I don't fucking think so. But thanks, anyway.
  24. Scrambles will be part of it, certainly. I'm not looking for a "package" so much as adding a run element to the tried-and-true plays. A couple of runs a quarter is one out of about every eight plays total. Ending the run with a slide or a step out of bounds needs to be drilled into Arch's head.
