Sarkisian wasn’t the one who failed to execute. Therefore, his misunderestimating them wasn’t the problem. Failure to execute was the problem.

Sarkisian failed to prepare his players to execute, or perhaps he just failed to notice his players weren't executing the plays in practice. Maybe he was too busy to notice his DC wasn't getting his players ready to stop a passing attack for 60 seconds.

    Saint Darrell understood scoreboard control.

I meant Texas loses to those maroon clowns if Sarkisian treats it as a scrimmage and is focused on the championship game because a loss makes no difference.

Think an NFL team with playoff seeding determined going into the last week of the season.

We can hope that being free of worries about wife and kiddies gives Sark more time for contemplating the idea that EVERY game counts and must be approached with the mindset that nothing less than 10/10 will do. Put the wheels on the ground immediately, not halfway down the runway.

Now that holding won't be allowed every play it should look similar to the Alabama game on a weekly basis.

EDGE improvement should help pass rush dramatically. If the DT situation is even close to as good as we've been hearing, the front four should be improved overall, and the DB shouldn't have to cover receivers for thirty seconds per play.

The SEC reffing should lower the holding foul disparity, but the keyword is "should" - remains to be seen. We may hope.

I post this each year, it has been the best bookmark for game times the upcoming week and what channel they will be on.  All times Central as well.

    It's the Standard, fer sher.

And just to make it even better - the list has clickable links to each game.

It’s not really the same thing. Patterson wasn’t hired to the coaching staff. I don’t know what his duties as an analyst were exactly, but it was never clear how much he was even around the facilities in between open mic night sets

True, but pretty sure he was on the sidelines in games and at practices.

For whatever reason, I got the impression that PK didn't care for the situation, and may not have been on board with it at all.

For sure, I'd take Patterson as DC right this instant, but in't gonna happen.

Or maybe (hear me out) he's a surly plant.  Think about it.  He lies to the TAMU faithful, he berates them, he gets their hopes up only to see them crash into reality year after year, and he has made millions off of their idiocy.  Has anyone ever seen Looch and @immamac in the same place?  I didn't think so.

    Seriously good point.

  7. The real question about looch is "does he actually believe the bullshit that comes out of his mouth and from his fingertips... or is he just a con-man with a huge target full of simpletons?"

The point is that Sark should have seen it earlier….  Now if they do good this year ok,..   but I’m questioning if the safeties learned jack shit from either coach.

I think Sark saw it coming plenty early, but he (mistakenly?) has trusted PK to fix it.

Someone pointed out that PK apparently doesn't long to be HC somewhere, and that may be so. It means to me that he doesn't have the attitude to be in charge of the entire Defense, either.

Sark is a really, really high-quality Offense coach. Like a lot of the type, he seems to have a tendency to - I hate to say "ignore", but - not pay enough attention to the defensive part of the game. He has two full-time jobs, as both HC and being his own OC, so he simply doesn't have enough hours in his days to ride herd on the D as well.

I understand his relationship with Kwiatkowsky goes back quite a way, but the fact is the D has not reached the heights that the O has. I also understand that it has certainly gotten better, and most of us believe it will be better still, this season.

Is that enough? Maybe, maybe not. If the DB crew doesn't improve from last year, it appears to me we're going to see the same result: win almost all our games, but have one or two where we just can't stop our opponents' passing attacks, and if the O doesn't crush it... well, 12-2 is a whole lot better than we've seen in a long, long time.

Season's getting close, and we'll be talking about coaching and play far more than we talk about recruiting.
