  1. Consistency? They are open one day a week lolol. And yes other places have closed, thats how shitty bbq was back then. kinda fucking easy for a place with zero overhead and open to public for 2 hours a week to stay open. I see you have totally ignored the list I posted. Thats either because A) you havent tried but maybe 3-4 joints from that list B) You have no rebuttal because I am correct C) Youre likely around 50 years of age, tried a couple of joints on the top 50, and have concluded that its worth waiting 6 hours in line for. If so, you need to try more cue jesus christ u old dudes and ur hard on for Snows. I said this same shit on the shag thread in 2017 about coopers, the lockhart joints, luling cm, etc and got the same response then well, how are those joints now? Thats right, they are good to go to and nice for a history lesson, but there is better BBQ everywhere im arguing with morons
  2. And when did those places open? Also, might wanna take a look at the other places on a few of those lists. Not very stiff competition. Other than St Arnold, Shiner was the one of the top Texas “craft” beers in 2000. That was when there were only a few Texas craft breweries on the scene. Now? Hell they arent even in the top 100-200 breweries in the state. Competition has made them obsolete. Even tho shiner had what many considered decent beer in 2000, and an INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE that had even gave out free beer! they are losing market share every year. Just because something is iconic doesnt mean its good. And goldees and burnt bean and franklin are worth waiting in line, unlike snows
  3. Outstanding defense of your point
  4. Bbq “experience” - absolutely again, yall learn to read plz
  5. Jesus christ, ill spell it out for you. Places with better cue than Snows: Zavalas Tejas Lavaca Truth Franklin Interstellar Mum Goldees Daynes Leroy and lewis Burnt bean Reese bros KG Terry blacks Veras La bbq 1701 Mimsys Ntx smoke Smoke n ash Cattleack Pinkertons Micklethwait Desert oak Panther city Hutchins Barbs Eaker Sunbird Bar A Rejino B4 2M Corkscrew Butters Helberg Distant relatives Evie maes Hurtado Millers Places that are on equal footing with Snows BBQ: Stanley Smoke sessions Killens Pit room Hutchins Teddys Morenos Louie mueller Brisket and rice Mimsy Stiles switch Briscuits Hill City Chop house Hallelujah so yeah, they are fringe top 50. But I would def lump Snows-level bbq and experience in with Lockharts stuff and some of the ol school goodies like I said. If you want a good BBQ experience, snows is just as good as Salt lick, coopers, smittys, and LM. Im not sure what else to tell you.
  6. Im not trashing Ms Tootsie. Im not trashing the “experience.” Im saying that Snows bbq has been surpassed by many, many, many joints in the state, just like Luling City Market, the lockhart big 3/4, Coopers, salt lick, etc. You would know it if u actually went to other places that have opened over the last 5 years. Heaven forbid someone judge a goddamn bbq place on its food! I dgaf about some goddamn “BBQ experience” if the food isnt worth it, which Snows isnt.
  7. Omg lmao /thread give this man the 10,000 dollars
  8. Odd, looks like they are on hyperflyer and favor?
  9. And I can get Pit Room delivered in less than 30 min and its on par with Snows /ducks
  10. Sorry, it UberEats. But its been a while since ive ordered delivery from them. Think they have their own delivery or partial inhouse delivery now. And im referring to Truth
  11. You legit need to learn how to read. Stick to the football forum maybe
  12. Know how I know you havent had Truth/much bbq? Lolol
  13. No its not. Again, eat more places. Their cue doesnt hold a candle to the stuff that has popped up over the last 4-5 years. And i can DoorDash Truth BBQ, as its less that a mile from my house. Pinkertons is just over a mile. Truth has always been better than Snows
  14. Lol at purist gatekeeping. Look, snows was the last great bastion of the old school joints. But time has moved forward and soon people will move on. It was good in its time. But to think its one of the best cue spots in the world is laughable. The similarities to the craft beer/coffee/insert cuisine here/ revolutions are obvious. Snows is Shiner circa 2009. But hey, if you enjoy waiting 5-6 hours for something that is worse than I can doordash in 20 min, you do you
  15. Same with Dickies. Guess I cant hate on it. It has 318 locations so it must work for some!
  16. I sat next to Tootsie for a whole day at Camp Brisket last January (or was it two jans ago?). Talked with her off and on for almost 9 hours. She is great. She makes damn good bbq. She is an icon but other places make better bbq than her now. Ive been to almost every bbq spot on every TM top 50 list since its inception. Anyone that thinks she is one of the current top 10 bbq joints in the state just hasnt eaten enough bbq. I get it, people drove for hours and waited 7-8 hours in line and dont wanna say its just solid-level cue after putting in all that work. But it really isnt worth any of that. Hell, its not worth driving more than 15 minutes if you live in austin, with all the choices you have locally. Sure, Alamo stadium is arguably the most storied stadium in Texas HS football. But lol at thinking its one of the 10 best to catch a game at in 2025
  17. Lavaca bbq and bneck and neck imo. Also, lavaca has two locations since last summer edit, sorry not redbird, meant Burnt bean
  18. Damn, great call! also, im glad Snows got the fuck outta there. Im shocked it even made the top 50, tbh
  19. Ive been to all of them minus smoak, sabar, jennings, bredyns, yearbys and redbird https://www.texasmonthly.com/interactive/top-50-bbq-2025/
  20. None of these gonna be on it https://www.texasmonthly.com/bbq/best-texas-bbq-honorable-mentions/ odd that Tejas isnt top 50
  21. The 10 commandments shit is fucking so dumb. At this point, I dont know how anyone can be a christian anymore
  22. Our country pre-2016 is never coming back. Materialism, apathy, lack of morality, consumerism, and misinformation has been chugging along for most of my lifetime, getting more over the top year by year. That aint turning around. Most of this country doesnt give a fuck about conservation, their neighbors, or the rest of the world. All they care about is having more money to spend and having cheap diversions to distract from the shit show that is their day to day life. Especially with the increases in technology, AI, connectivity, and the worsening of food and sedentary lifestyles… to think that one day we will be like 9/12/2001? Lolol the only way that is happening is if there is a WW3
  23. Houston is the 2nd most-humid city in the country. Any place but New Orleans is better
  24. Stayed at the JW resort this weekend. Always a good time for the kids Did Soluna (its the sister restaurant to Rosarios, and much better), La Fonda on Main (we always try to go here once a trip), DarkSide Pizza (if you havent seen or heard of this one, look it up. Its insane. Best themed restaurant in Texas), Alamo Springs Cafe (did this before we saw the bats at Old Tunnel State Park. The Cover burger was awesome but everything else was trash), had breakfast at La Panaderia (this gonna be the next big restaurant to franchise outta SA, its awesome every time), and had lunch at Tycoon Flats (great greasy spoon). We try to visit at least once a year and every time we talk about moving from Houston. SA is just a better city in most respects. Little to no traffic, no humidity (we sat outside when it was 91 degrees and it felt like 80 degrees in Houston), great tacos, laid back feel, best childrens museum in Texas, Six Flags, Hurricane Harbor, SeaWorld, Zoo, Riverwalk, Pearl, <30 min from Castroville, Seguin, NB, and 2.5 hrs from a pretty solid beach. The only reason we havent moved already is because im fairly convinced CenTex is gonna run outta water by 2030
