GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida Gators starting quarterback DJ Lagway left the Georgia game with a hamstring injury in the first half and did not return. He was on crutches with his left leg in a brace and had an MRI on Sunday.
UF coach Billy Napier provided an update on Lagway’s status at his Monday press conference.
“The good news is, we’ve had positive information on that front,” Napier said. “That is the positive thing, we do think the injury is less significant. We think there’s a pathway for a recovery and return. And we did find that out (Sunday) evening. Lot of good on that front. So, less significant than we anticipated.
“And he’s been doing well so far (Monday) morning. We have not completely ruled him out (for Texas) and I think a lot of that will be to be determined as we move our way throughout the week. So that’s a good thing for all involved and certainly for DJ. … It’s gonna be pretty clear cut once we get to Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. So, we’ll know.”
