  2. Weird calendar year... College football schedule: Why does every team get two bye weeks during the 2024 season? Teams have two byes this year due to an NCAA bylaw that prohibits FBS programs from playing their first game of the season prior to the Thursday before Labor Day, which fell on Aug. 29 this year. That marked the official start of Week 1, with the first full Saturday of college football falling on Aug. 31. Between Aug. 31 and Nov. 30 -- the final Saturday in November -- there are 14 Saturdays to play 12 regular season games. That means a majority of FBS teams will be provided an extra week off. Some teams, like Florida State, will even have three bye weeks https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/college-football-schedule-why-does-every-team-get-two-bye-weeks-during-the-2024-season/#:~:text=Teams have two byes this year due to,Day%2C which fell on Aug. 29 this year.
  3. Some have Texas beating vandy but not covering 18pt spread. Reasons include Texas being beat-up off of two straight physical emotional games vs jawja/blOU. Time to see Sark motivate his team and really kick vandy's ass Saturday!!! 🀘

  5. Vandy getting several players back for Texas: Several Vanderbilt football starters were listed as questionable on the team's availability report published Wednesday night ahead of a matchup with Texas. However, those players were all upgraded to probable by Thursday. Langston Patterson and Miles Capers, each of whom missed the game against Ball State, were among them. So are Eli Stowers, AJ Newberry, Martel Hight, Sedrick Alexander and Linus Zunk. It is not known what injuries any of those players are dealing with. A later addition to the report was Kolbey Taylor, who is questionable with a back injury, according to Clark Lea. Zaylin Wood remains out after suffering an injury against Georgia State in September.
  6. Texas defense needs to disrupt and hurt Vandy's offense execution... shorten their drives
  7. Texas defense needs contain Diego Saturday🀘
  8. Announcers: Saturday on the SEC Network, Tom Hart will handle play-by-play for the game, while Cole Cubelic will be the the analyst and Alyssa Lang reporting from the sidelines. Hart has been with ESPN 12 years, before that he did work for Comcast, CBS Sports, Fox Sports and the Atlanta Braves. Cubelic played for the Auburn Tigers from 1996 to 2001. He joined ESPN in 2011. Lang joined the SEC Network in 2018 as a studio show anchor and host.
  9. What's the story on Gardner injury?? Also today, Bond and Mukuba are both listed as doubtful and unlikely to play @vandy
  10. HaHaHaHa πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Kalen DeBoer and Alabama have players running to touch "TNT" signs after practice mistakes Doug Samuels 23 hours ago There will always be comparisons of Kalen DeBoer and Nick Saban, that simply comes with the territory of following the GOAT. At 5-2 (and 2-2 in SEC play), with games against Missouri, at LSU and Oklahoma and then the season ending rivalry game against Auburn, DeBoer is in danger of doing something Saban did just twice in his long and storied tenure in Tuscaloosa - losing three or more games in a season. Saban famously lost six games in year one, and after that lost more than two games in a season just once (2010) over his next 16 years leading the program. If there has been a criticism of DeBoer's first year (outside of his gameday choice of attire), it's that the signature discipline of Alabama teams under Saban has been missing, especially at critical moments. To get back on track, all indications are that DeBoer and Alabama are refocusing on the details and trying to eliminate mistakes big and small. A lot of programs say that with empty words, but Kalen DeBoer and Alabama have a strategy in place to address mistakes in practice. CJ Dippre shared after a recent practice that "TNT" signs are around the practice facility. After a mental mistake, or a penalty, players run and touch the sign as a physical reminder of things that "Take No Talent." Dippre adds that it's a physical way to own the mistake, flush it, and shift the focus to the next play. While it's unclear from the video exactly how long this practice has been around, it's clear that it's being emphasized after the Tide lost their second game of the season. There are going to be a lot of coaches around the country that take this idea and implement it as soon as possible. Certainly one of those things that can transcend into other sports. The Tide will get a chance to get back on track Saturday against Missouri at 3:45 EST on ABC.
