  1. Yep, and like most of the good ones, she left.
  2. Not nearly enough time for each person to substantively answer the questions.
  3. Hendrix is the exception to that. Francis Scott Key would have changed the song if he heard Jimi Hendrix.
  4. That rendition of the national anthem was horrendous. I hate when people unnecessarily deviate and randomly change notes and tempo because they think they are clever. GET OFF MY LAWN!!!
  5. I assume he squirts piss from his eyes when threatened.
  6. Don't let the "Notre Dame" troll distract you. This is a big fucking deal, which is why he is trying to change the topic. Russia has funded attacks on the United States, Britain, France, Italy and Austria at a minimum. Putin has waged an all-out assault on NATO and western democracies. This transcript is a smoking gun. The article describes an audio recording of them conspiring to illegally funnel $65 million to Italy's far right Lega party and Matteo Salvini, who the Russians describe as "Europe's Trump". Lega has made huge electoral gains in the last few years, going from a fringe party to the majority party in Italy, with 34.5% of the vote in the last election. The article and transcript of the meeting are damning. The transcript describes how Russian oil companies Rosneft or Lukoil would launder money to fund the Italian far right political party, Lega, through Eni (Italian bank with a Moscow office). They discuss how to avoid triggering money laundering alerts and circumvent EU and Italian laws by using cutout companies. They talk of the exact types of fuel to be sold, when it will be sold, where it will be sold and that Lega needs the money in time for their next election. The Russians make clear that they are acting on behalf of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak and Vladimir Pligin, a high up member of Putin's United Russia party. "The negotiation — which lasted for an hour and 15 minutes, interspersed with cigarette breaks and fueled by espressos — would involve a major Russian oil company selling at least 3 million metric tons of fuel over the course of a year to Italian oil company Eni for a value of around $1.5 billion. The buying and selling would be done through intermediaries, with the sellers applying a discounted rate to these transactions. The discount would be worth around $65 million, based on fuel prices at the time, according to calculations provided to BuzzFeed News by industry analysts, and it is this money that would be secretly funneled to the Italian party via the intermediaries. The participants were clear that the purpose of the deal and the discount mechanism at its heart was to support Lega, in particular its European election campaign. “It’s very simple,” one of the two other Italian men said some 25 minutes into the meeting. “The planning made by our political guys was that given a 4% discount, 250,000 [metric tons] plus 250,000 per month per one year, they can sustain a campaign.” Here's a link to the transcript of the meeting. https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/buzzfeednews/transcript-lega-russia-oil-deal-meeting "RU2: We have Eni who will be on the Italian side, yes? We have Russian oil company on our side, and we have two companies in the middle. The bank, you are the bank, and one Russian company who will be, who will sign the contract with the bank... ... IT2: Francesco says no problem to have a fourth company in between. The most important is that it is a well-known company, because otherwise we are going to have problems with KYC [Know Your Client] and AM…[Anti-Money Laundering rules] RU1: What is criteria? Can we receive some criterias which we should fulfill? IT2: Well, the best would be major to major and the bank in between. Right. The best would be major to major. Why? Because we make a purchase contract with Russian major, we make sale contract to Italian buyer, major, and this is going to be a back-to-back contract so clearly shown to everybody, maybe without the price but it’s clearly the contracts are linked. If we need another company in between, then we need to have need to have a, you know, reasonably well-known company. I make an example. If it is Lukoil selling, we would like to have Litasco. OK. Just to... Or if it is… RU2: Rosneft, for instance." "
  7. Trump has committed many impeachable offenses, some aren't crimes, but are impeachable none-the-less. An impeachment inquiry should not solely focus on the Mueller report, including his obstruction, or his perjury. Trump is an unindicted co-conspirator who committed felony campaign finance violations. He has committed insurance and tax fraud. He's been bribed repeatedly by foreign governments paying inflated rates for his hotels. Trump was trying to build Trump Tower Moscow with 2 different sets of Russians, while attacking US foreign policy and NATO countries. He repeatedly lied about all of it. Those are just scratching the surface. Dems should hit him with a new topic every few weeks until the election and not let the Senate vote on whether to remove him until after the election. Make it a referendum on the GOP supporting a shitheel felon at any cost.
  8. Vodka suppositories technically aren't drinking.
  9. Would have had no argument from me if that was the case. That's exactly what the dems need to do, be aggresive and attack. Make the GOP spend all their time defending a traitorous felon and hang that millstone around the GOP's neck at every opportunity.
  10. Dude, seriously? 3 consecutive state championships is a great outcome, but Ced averaged a shit load more than 3 yards a carry. I can't find how many carries or yards he had in 1998. According to Dave Campbell's Texas football, in 1999 Benson rushed for 3,526 yards, 8th all time in Texas. You really think he carried the ball 1,175 times that year alone to get those yards? For reference, Jonathan Grey holds the record with 1,225 career carries and Jacquizz Rodgers is second with 1,134 career carries. Ced had under 1000 career carries and under 408 carries in any season, since he doesn't crack the top-10 in either stat. His 1999 stats are at least 8.66 yards per carry. 3,526/407 = 8.66.
  11. Yeah, going for it on 4th down multiple times every possession is a great strategy.
  12. 3+3+3 = Punt. The Dems have been like early 2000's Texas going against OU, taking what the GOP gives them and running bubble screens for losses and 3-yard outs on third and long. The best plays and young talent have been handcuffed and on the sideline. Trump is a good attacker, but terrible at defense, Mike Stoops deep ball off playaction bad. Dems can take the initiative by launching an impeachment inquiry, skipping vacation to get to work, staking out a unified message, and dictating to the GOP how the rest of this is going to go. Even with the breaking news from Judiciary, I'm still skeptical they will do that. I really hope I'm wrong.
  13. Nothing about this is going to go quickly. Trump will fight and delay every step of the way. Frivolous lawsuits mean nothing to him. They may lose, but they will buy time. If Dems wanted to increase the pressure, an impeachment inquiry would do that. Pelosi wants to play it safe under the old rules. Trump is historically unpopular and she is afraid impeaching him and not having the Senate remove him will make it look political. It's political malpractice. McConnell not removing a blatant felon is a millstone she should hang around his neck. It would drive home the importance of voting straight ticket Dem this time. Instead, lots of voters will split their vote hoping for gridlock. Mueller has given Democrats two good shots on goal and they've passed on both. They won't get a better shot than right now.
  14. If Nadler really thinks that, he's a fool. Trump is going to fight every subpoenaed witness as if it is the first time the issue has been litigated. They will continue bullshit blanket claims of executive privilege for every witness. The media is going to cover it in total isolation, devoid of any context, like they do for every thing else. If they want to put pressure on the witnesses that are refusing to testify, launch an impeachment inquiry. Suddenly, blanket claims of executive privilege look like the blatant obstruction of justice that they are.
  15. It's sure as hell going to be the norm if there isn't any punishment for it.
  16. This is not just an existential crisis for the country, but also for Trump, McConnell, the GOP and Putin. They are all in. Russia and others are going to cheat like a motherfucker. The GOP will be in full vote suppression mode. Trump will continue to claim millions of illegals voted for his opponent. Those votes will be thrown out if need be. Trump is going to "win" re-election and he'll never leave office willingly, because it would be straight to a jail cell. If they don't impeach him now, it will be too late to stop any of this.
  17. real good-looking men... straight outta Central Casting.
  18. Once he's colored in all the pages, they aren't much use to him anymore.
  19. We thought it was a fart. It turned out to be a shart and it's overflowing the tops of our boots now. Never trust a fart.
  20. This is exactly how Dems should question him and it should be done by counsel, rather than each committee member, but the Dems are going to fuck up both parts.
  21. Excerpt from Natasha Bertrand article in Politico. More at the link. https://www.politico.com/story/2019/07/18/trump-cohen-hush-money-negotiations-1421394 Trump regularly talked to Cohen during hush-money negotiations New court documents show how Michael Cohen kept his boss in the know as he hammered out a deal with Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election. ... On October 8, 2016, the day the tape was released, Trump campaign press secretary Hope Hicks called Cohen and then, 16 seconds later, Trump himself was dialed into the call, which continued for over four minutes. It was the first call Cohen had received or made to Hicks in at least multiple weeks, and Cohen and Trump had only spoken about once a month prior to that, according to the FBI. Cohen and Hicks spoke again for about two minutes after the call with Trump ended. Over the next few weeks, Cohen worked to flesh out a deal with Davidson and American Media, Inc., the parent organization of the National Enquirer. The plan was to have AMI purchase and bury the story, a practice known as “catch and kill,” and Cohen would then reimburse AMI for their expenses. Cohen and Davidson worked on the arrangements with Dylan Howard, the chief content officer at AMI. During this period, Cohen connected with Trump several times. Cohen was particularly frantic on October 17, a day when he incorporated an LLC called Essential Consultants in Delaware to funnel the money to Daniels. It’s also when Davidson threatened to cancel the deal by the end of the day if Cohen didn’t pay up. Cohen’s first call after he spoke to Davidson at the end of the day was an eight-second call to Trump, though it’s unclear if they spoke.
