  1. The only political point everyone on this board agrees with is that Craig James sucks. There were a lot of twists and turns in the Beto story, but since I'm right and all you other fuckers are wrong, and I come here to get away from politics, this could go cloak room fast. I'm not the pope of this dump, but let's not spiral.
  2. Can't speak to that, but I did get to meet both Earl and Robertson. Went to UT when Earl did, stayed in Jester, we said hi a few times in the halls, talked maybe a couple of times. I'm short, 5'6". He wasn't that much taller than me, but I swear his thighs were bigger than his waist, and he could damned near cover a coke machine if he stood in front of it. Met Robertson when we both went to a Bill Glass Prison Ministry visit. Got to talk with him some, there. Dude was huge. I probably came up to his armpit. Said he did prison ministry cause when he got in trouble after football nobody wanted to know him, and Hollywood Henderson was the only guy who visited, and it gave him strength to finish his time and make changes. Didn't ask about the Earl hit. He'd packed on some pounds, but I didn't want to poke that bear. About thirty years ago, my crew put out a chimney fire at Earl's house. No biggie, no damage, but he sent the station a case of Earl Campbell sausage.
  3. Weird thing on Belichick and the hoodies/sweats. The NFL was pissed cause they required coaches to wear NFL branded merchandise on the sidelines, and Belichick wasn't in compliance. He's always been an oppositional bastard, so he got the cheapest sweatshirt, cut the sleeves off, and started wearing it. It almost immediately became a best seller. IIRC, NFL apparel made a few commercials with guys working out in sweatshirts with the sleeves cut off, wiping the chalk dust off their hands on their chests, and throwing it down on a bench as a cushion for a bench press.
  4. Troof right there. Whenever either team loses a close game, some fans will grab that one call that didn't go their way and hang onto it, because the alternative is to admit they lost.
  5. During the sideline shots of the coaches, Sitake looked focused, and you could tell he was making decisions. Sanders looked like a slightly disgruntled fan. Giving Sanders the benefit of the doubt, there was a video before the start of the season, and he's had one of his toes amputated and said he takes a butt load of painkillers to get through being able to stand on the sidelines during an entire game. So, yeah, I think he may have been high as a kite. It was especially obvious during the interview before the game where the sideline chick was asking him about coaching his son for his last game. Someone else on the board called it fake crying, but I think he was having trouble formulating words.
  6. Hell's bells, man. All football games are exhibition games. It was a great game, you got the win, one of the coolest/funniest trophies, and beat the Hurricanes. That was a win for the Cyclones all around.
  7. Iowa State guys played to the end, even though they ruined their original jerseys in the wash and had to buy generic uniforms on eBay before the game started.
  8. She'd do this and you'd agree with her:
  9. https://texags.com/s/64261/press-conference-elko-aggies-react-to-las-vegas-bowl-disappointment/5 Highlight is Elko burping into the microphone at 2:08.
  10. He's like a dwarf among midgets.
  11. Probably from listening to these announcers.
  12. And it would have been a catchable ball if #20 hadn't slammed into him.
  13. You see, Beaver, if you make a mistake on a message board, you'll hear about it for years.
  14. Those OU receivers couldn't catch herpes in a trailer park.
  15. These bowl games have been legit. 5 OTs, 7 OTs, crazy Kansas State/Rutgers, and just when I thought this one was about to turn into a yawner, wow.
  16. First 5OT game. This is a fun game to watch.
  17. Nothing to do with the game, but she is wearing Ohio State colors
  18. Fixed it. Tennessee fans talked way too much smack before the game started. Ohio State ain't gonna just try to run out the clock
  19. Get your official Dak Prescott playoff jersey!
  20. This is either the greatest or stupidest post in the history of surly.
  21. Belichick is a great X & O coach who also happens to be a horse's ass. He needed Brady, cause aside from being an excellent QB that understood the first rule of winning is "don't lose the game with stupid ass hero ball (Bret Favre)," he kept the team together and soothed ruffled feathers. Belichick ran off competent players cause he's a jerk. Deion surprised me because great players hardly ever become great coaches. Most of the guys who become great coaches were average to above average players, and they had to know the game intimately to make up for their physical shortcomings. Great players often depend upon their athletic ability, so if Deion got out of position, he had the speed to cover his mistake. I'm not saying he's a great coach, but he's outperformed what I thought he would. What I have trouble seeing is Belichick being able to deal with a college environment, where players can walk. If he can convince enough 4 & 5 star players that he can get them ready for the NFL, he's got a chance, but we're living in a world where a lot of these guys will make more money in college than they ever will in the NFL.
