  1. Bob Bowlsby is on it. He'll get this sorted out.
  2. HEY! Just cause the highest rated restaurant in Stillwater is the Flying J doesn't mean...never mind.
  3. 2,000 miles to Portland. 1,760 miles to San Francisco. 1006 miles to Phoenix. 920 miles to Denver. 1,378 miles to Los Angeles. Maybe most of the guys here can afford to spring for those kinds of road trips, but it would put me out of the "away game" business.
  4. Obviously. Dawn Wells was married five times.
  5. Part of that is because the Pac 12 is the only conference that already knows neither team is going to the playoffs. I never got the allure of the PAC12 for a lot of posters on here. I think they got stars in their eyes about USC and UCLA. Obviously, a lot of the posters on here are more jet set travelers than me, but the logistics of travelling a thousand miles or more to games, particularly when you can't make travel arrangements until a week before (11 AM kickoff? 7 PM kickoff?) just puts the cost and fatigue factor out of reach for me.
  6. I've never been a Garrett fan, but you touch on an important point. Giving a great press conference doesn't mean dick. Win the game, you're good. Lose the game, you're bad. I like watching Belichick pressers because he always looks like he's being interrogated about a burglary. Saban is fun to watch because he's such an ass, but if they were losing, nobody would give two hoots what they have to say. Nobody's gonna love Garrett if he gives a great presser and rolls out 8-8 every year. Jerry loves Garrett cause nobody gives a shit what Garrett says and Jerry gets the spotlight. Good win against the Saints when nobody picked them.

There have always been stupid ass people like this, but they didn't used to get fawning attention from mass media.
  8. Squirrel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Could be, but you look at the coaches from six years ago to today, and the philosophies are very different.
  10. Yeah, that was why I said a few pages ago that I'm not sure if I would have fired Kingsbury this year. Bowman, Carter, and Duffy were all limited by injuries, and their defense really has improved. Tech had to know that there was going to be some "on the job" training with Kingsbury, and that it would take a couple of years for him to figure out the head coaching thing. That said, I was never a big fan of Kingsbury, but his firing is really the end of the era of the high scoring, track meet Big 12. Patterson, Rhule, Miles, Herman and Campbell are moving the league in a different direction.
  11. My bad. It took me a year to figure out who Meatchicken was in the football threads, so I missed the existing thread on this.
  12. http://www.tmz.com/2018/11/27/stephen-hillenburg-dead-dies-spongebob-squarepants-creator-als/ Stephen Hillenburg, creator of Spongebob Squarepants, passed away at age 57. SIAP. Apparently had ALS. I know a lot of people on here were fans.
  13. Holgerson is an original, genuinely eccentric coach. Some guys put on a persona, but he's just who he is. This thread is the first mention I've heard of him having tension with the WV powers that be. Hard to imagine him at Tech. Personally, I'm not sure letting Kingsbury go was a great idea right now. The defense was getting better, and how different would this year be if Bowman hadn't gotten injured? Kingsbury mostly avoided scandal, and was the classic "good soldier" for the program. Tech seems adrift right now, and I don't think it's a good idea to fire a coach until you've got a good idea who the next coach will be, barring scandal.
  14. I've only seen a couple of his games. He impressed me as a decent X & O guy, but his teams always seemed soft.
  15. Yeah, I think the was the "next big thing" a couple of years ago. Course, so was Charlie Strong. And Charlie Weis. Never hire a coach named Charlie or named after a hat.
  16. Agree. Most of the calls that get reviewed are so close they could go either way. All replay has done is convince us we don't know what's a reception.
  17. True, but Strong got fired after losing to TCU. Kansas was the reason, along with three losing seasons. TCU was the last game, but the decision was probably made after Kansas. If Brown had beaten Baylor, he probably doesn't get fired, cause he would have won the conference championship, & not sure how the powers that be could have fired him after that. With Kliff, the Baylor game, if he's actually let go, would be the last straw, not the reason. He took over a team that had won at least eight games every year since something like 2002. They pretty much know what a Kingsbury team looks like. Not to defend Kingsbury, but he did have his top three QBs injured. A lot of coaches would have losing records if that happened.
  18. Oklahoma receivers are just parking on the sidelines.
  19. When that ref in WV-OU woke up, he said, "Hey, what are you doing here? I thought I told you to go fuck your mother."
  20. Kansas dropped 40 on them. The problem is their pinball machine offense.
  21. Watching it on skycam. Game is great with stadium announcer just giving down and distance. No booth announcers.
