  1. Looks like the Chargers can finally go get Eli
  2. Any one have a guess what any of these guys make? I've always wondered but really don't have a clue. Think George, Craig, and Gordo make the same amount? Does Gordo get less because he takes segments off?
  3. You can't deny that the roof was half of a sphere.
  4. It seems you're having trouble separating fact from opinion so let me help you out: Fact Kobe was accused of rape Kobe was never convicted of rape Kobe denied the allegations There are only 2 (now 1) people on this planet that know what happened that night and one of them is not you Opinion Kobe is a rapist Kobe isn't a rapist The whole thing was fabricated to extort money from Kobe The accuser got drunk, made a bad decision, and accused Kobe of rape later to make herself feel better So if you're going to hold someone in a certain regard based solely on something that you don't even know is true, that's fine, but that doesn't allow you to tell others how they should feel about him.
  5. I know I'm feeding the troll here, but did you ever think that some people might not have that role model at home? Stop acting like you're better than everyone.
  6. LOL. As if this makes you somehow more credible because you watched him play basketball for 3 years. Everyone grieves differently. All because you don't grieve in the same way doesn't mean others are wrong. I grew up in SA in the late 80s and early 90s, and I can say without a doubt that David Robinson had more influence on me than probably anyone outside my parents. If the Admiral died today, you fuckin' A right I'd probably be curled up in a ball on the grounds of Hemisphere Arena.
  7. As far as I know, Dirk is still alive, which means Cuban can plan an entire ceremony honoring Dirk in which Dirk will attend. This is something that usually takes months or years to plan. Are you trying to insinuate that Cuban holds Kobe in higher regard than Dirk? I'm not sure what your point is. Would it make you feel better if Cuban put out a press release saying no Mav will ever wear 41 again even though we all know that's already the case?
  8. Btw, retiring a number doesn't mean you have to have some grand ceremony to raise the jersey to the rafters. It can just mean no other player will wear it again, and I think it'd be cool if the league came out and said they're retiring 8/24 starting now and current players are grand fathered in.
  9. Man I still don't get those that are questioning the gestures being made by people across the league. I'm a Spurs fan so it's not like I'm some Cuban homer, but if in his opinion, Kobe made a big enough impact on the game and the team that he owns, who the fuck are we so say he's going overboard by retiring the number? If MJ died tomorrow in the same fashion, would we question any owners retiring 23? Some players are bigger than an individual team, and there are people that feel it's appropriate to honor those players. Stop bitching for the sake of bitching.
  10. Can we not just let Kobe rest in peace without bringing up his rape allegation? For fucks sake, none of us know what happened that night and at the end of the day, the girl dropped the criminal charges. Assuming you're not Jerseyman, we've all been in the same situation where some chick could have fabricated a story that was 100% untrue about what may or may not happened during any given drunken night. Now is not the time to bring that up so give it a rest. Like others, this has hit me harder than I expected. Has there been a bigger sports death in the last 30-40 years? Only one I can think of would be Dale Earnhardt but he didn't have the global impact and reach that Kobe had.
  11. My wife and I spent the weekend in Nashville and I rented a Supra from Turo for the duration. This car surprised the hell out of me. I knew the numbers were good, but I was still blown away by the power, acceleration, balance, and handling. This is just one of those cars where you point the nose, mash on the accelerator, and it just goes without fuss. I haven't had that much fun in a car since I rented the 911 GTS in Germany. I haven't driven a 718, but I imagine the Supra is as close to it as anything else. If you have the chance to drive one, do it. Just watch your head as you get in because this fucker is a lot smaller than it looks and that roofline comes at you quick.
  12. I'm sure there are several 8-5 teams out there where > 0 juniors would get drafted.
  13. Kind of shows where we are as a team where not a single junior would get drafted.

  15. I obviously can't post classified info and I don't know the specifics of Iran either way, but some countries use "Two shot doctrine" meaning they're going to fire two missiles at it either way. I can tell you there's no way they knew the extent of the damage after the first shot.
  16. Nashville, Albuquerque, and NOLA are perfect. I like LAX but this will be the first plane ride for all 3 of my kids, so < 2 hours in the air I think would be best. I was also thinking ATL, MEM, or PHX but not sure what those cities have to offer for kids.
  17. Anyone have a guess at what the big announcement is tomorrow morning? Think they have na afternoon drive crew already set?
  18. I think the proper protocol here is to slip another man in with a string tied around him, and when the two men become co-dependent, you rip the second guy out, and hopefully the first one comes out with him.
  19. My wife and I are looking to get away for Spring Break and take the clan with us, which includes 3 children under the age of 8. I fly SWA for free, so we're looking for a SWA location that has a couple days worth of shit to keep the kids occupied. We'd like to avoid big spring break crowds if able, so we're just looking for places to go that might not necessarily be frequented for spring break. We're looking for a city that has maybe a cool children's museum, aquarium, zoo, or other somewhat interactive experiences. This will be our first time taking the entire fam on a plane, so we're wanting to keep it low-key and easy. Sup?
  20. Just knowing the region, country in question, and the early reports, this is probably going to be a short or medium range radar-guided system (SA-6/8/11/13/14/15 etc) or it could be one of their house-made systems. Iran has a pretty robust IADS so there's really no telling but the chances of it being a run of the mill MANPAD are low I'd say.
  21. There's no way I'd do anything immoral and/or admit to anything on a public message board for my wife and her eventual divorce attorney to find.
  22. There's a very small chance this was an IR missile.
  23. How do you H-towners feel about Christine N? I met her a few years back at a bar and spent the rest of the night with her. She was the nicest hot chick I've ever met. She bought me drinks without even asking before I bought her anything. Total power move. I saw she moved to Houston a few months back.
  24. Yes. I'll gladly cancel my rooms in BR if this is the play. I just don't want to drive on game day.
