  1. So Either Alabama or Oregon get the 1st round bye. If that first scenario plays out I'm okay with them ranking Bama ahead of us so we can get the bye.
  2. What if Michigan, Georgia, and Washington all lost then FSU and Texas won. Now that would be a shit show. Everybody has 1 loss except FSU. lol
  3. A reason the big 12 may not want to screw us with reffing: There is a scenario where a Texas win could completely knock the SEC out of the playoff. Yormark might like that more than he hates Texas for leaving. Also being the early game and not knowing the results of the games to come probably helps our cause too.
  4. To be fair I'm not sure the Pac 12 is as good as the love they are getting. Oregon beat Tech by 38-30 and only because of a late turnover. No one in that conference played anyone OOC. So the only thing that makes them look strong is they all won their OOC games and then just played each other. Everyone is just ignoring that nobody in that conference played any tough non OOC games. I think the Pac12 could be fools gold and you could see whoever from there that gets in get smoked in the playoff.
  5. Texas' win over Alabama and the fact that they should have lost to Auburn is enough to keep them behind Texas if Texas wins.
  6. The answer will be the same as it is now. Sometimes there will be no head to head to consider, and sometimes it will matter for those last few spots. The 12 team playoff will still have discussions like this it will just be further down the list.
  7. Let's face it guys this all comes down to one thing. Whether or not the K State Athletics director is going to go to bat for us in that room to get the conference members money, or if he is gonna throw us under the bus just because he can.
  8. Completely disagree with this take. If Bama beats Georgia, Georgia would then be ranked behind Alabama. Texas would have a win on the road by double digits against the higher ranked team. Also I don't think the committee will set the precedent that head to head doesn't matter. If they do that, there is no reason to play tough OOC games for any power 5 team anymore. Everyone should pull an SEC and schedule at least 2 FCS teams, and 2 games against bottom feeders.
  9. It isn't about who we beat, it's about we would he the Big 12 Champs and the committee has shown they give conference champions the nod over non champions in the past.
  10. I'll come back and eat crow if I'm wrong but I really think a loss by Michigan, Georgia, or FSU and we get in with the Pac12 game having no effect on what happens to us (the winner is in and the loser is out).
  11. Poll voters have no say in the playoff at all. The committee has shown that winning a conference championship has meaning to them in the past. The committee is not bound by anything other than the rules they come up with themselves so trying to judge this like it's the BCS or like the polls have any sway in this is useless.
  12. Maybe but I think a win is enough. No matter when the game was played I think the commitee will send a message that head to head matters. Plus I also think the committee will take any excuse they can to get Texas in. Both to have new blood in the playoff and to bring in the money having Texas in the playoff will bring in. Plus if a close win against OSU seems like a problem just go back a week when Bama should have lost to Auburn who was terrible this year.
  13. I think if any of FSU, Georgia, or Michigan go down Texas is in. The winner of Oregon and Washington will be in so that game doesn't matter much.
  14. This makes no sense. A 2 loss Oregon is not gonna be ahead of Texas so why do we need them to beat Washington?
  15. I think if FSU, Michigan, or Georgia lose we are in. If Georgia, Alabama, and Texas all have one loss, it will come down to Texas and Alabama as they will be conference Champs. The committee will then give the nod to Texas based on head to head. Oregon, Washington doesn't affect us much. The winner is in and the loser is out. The committee values conference champions.
  16. The Big 12 often listed that Saturday as a place holder for the week and then the game ended up being on Thursday or Friday. I'm thinking the same could happen here as well.
  17. Now knowing the outcome of the other games this weekend and the fact we are playing OSU in the Big 12 title game, I wish we hadn't played that Yormark video at the end of the game. With us needing others to lose to make the playoff, big 12 refs will be doing everything they can to screw us against a team that is magical at figuring out ways to get bullshit calls against us. We are gonna have to play lights out and extremely clean. Our lineman are gonna need to learn how to block with their hands tied up behind their backs.
  18. nothing to neg. Conference Championship is number 1 goal. But it's fun to talk about what could happen and I'm afraid it's either playoff or NY6 bowl against a group of 5 team. There really isn't an in between since the Sugar Bowl is a playoff game.
  19. Lottery numbers for tomorrow's drawing in no particular order: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (unless other numbers get drawn)
  20. Ohio State doesn't matter. If we win we jump them. I think we need 1 of Two scenarios to happen. 1. Both FSU and Oregon lose (if Oregon wins in this scenario we might still make it but it would be whatever the committee wanted) or two of the undefeateds going down. If it came down to a handful of 1 loss teams for 2 spots, being conference Champs with a win over Bama and a bigger blowout over Tech (a shared opponent between us and Oregon) would be enough to get us one of the 2 available spots. The one loss teams that aren't conference Champs would fall behind the conference Champs by default with the committee.
  21. Winning a conference championship is the goal and will be awesome if we can finish it off. But if the bowl game prize for that is the Fiesta Bowl vs Tulane or whoever the top ranked group of 5 team is, that will be somewhat disappointing. Hopefully some of the good scenarios for us pan out.
  22. Oregon, and Bama win. Three 1 loss conference champions and we have a head to head against one of them and a common opponent with the other. What does the committee do. Michigan, FSU (if they win), then 2 out of those 3 with those circumstances.
  23. My only other hope is Bama beating Georgia cause what does the committe do there. Bama and Texas both are 1 loss conference Champs and Texas has a head to head win over Bama.
  24. With all the other results today I wish OSU woulda lost. Big 12 has all the ammo they need to say Texas probably won't get in anyways so let's give'm the ole ref screw job against OSU. At least if we were playing OU screwing us wouldn't benefit them at all.
