  1. I also bought season tickets for the Wyoming game as it was cheaper than the inflated single game ticket price. Donated the rest of the season’s tickets to the Laramie Boys and Girls Club.
  2. From the NCAA, but similar in other leagues. “The NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel on Monday approved a modification to the double jeopardy portion of the penalty for denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity. The panel, which met via conference call, supported the new rule that gives the referee discretion to issue a yellow card (caution) when a defender makes a legitimate attempt to play the ball when denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and commits a direct free kick offense in the penalty area. The awarding of a penalty kick remains a part of the rule. Previously, when a defender committed a foul while denying an obvious scoring opportunity, a penalty kick was awarded and the official issued a red card to immediately eject the player who committed the foul.”
  3. It is considered a double jeopardy. “The so-called double jeopardy rule has been introduced in recent seasons to prevent the same offense being punished by a penalty and a sending off”
  4. This is a completely inaccurate statement. This quote is directly from a Rio Grande Compact 101 Fact Sheet: “Colorado is required to make deliveries to New Mexico each year. These deliveries are administered on a daily basis and are measured at the Rio Grande at Lobatos Bridge stream gage near the state line. Required deliveries are calculated on a sliding scale depending on current river flows. A certain percentage is taken from the daily flows as curtailment, and that water is delivered to New Mexico and Texas.” Water administration in Colorado is vastly superior to any other Rocky Mountain state. Irrigation of any land whether by gravity or pumped uphill would be curtailed during times of local shortage or to comply with compact requirements. I have worked for the Colorado Division of Water Resources for over 25 years. If you have any questions, I am more than happy to explain how Colorado’s water laws function.
  5. Dude, I have been here and other boards for over twenty years. I read about every post on the main boards. I just don’t post much. Certain things piss me off, and shit talking by opposing fans directly after a loss is pretty high on the list.
  6. Uncle Nate, seriously fuck you! You are guest here.
  7. Interesting that you think I am Covid denier, as I am scheduled for my third Moderna shot. I just absolutely despise any politics, especially on the football board. For so many of you fuckheads, you cannot seem to realize how many of us don’t care about your political opinions.
  8. Way to go Southgate. If you have ever played soccer, you know that you need to get more than a couple minutes on the field to feel comfortable before taking a high pressure PK.
  9. Damn. I can’t fathom the pain that Sam has had to endure losing both his Father and Brother. RIP Jake.
  10. This is the Texas Colorado River drainage. Quite a ways to the east of the Rio Grande River drainage.
  11. The Rio Grande River and its drainage is in no way related to the Colorado River. Its headwaters start in the mountains above the San Luis Valley in Colorado and flow south/southeast through New Mexico before forming the Texas/Mexico border. The Colorado River drainage is on the other side of the Continental Divide and flows south/southwest. Even if you are talking about the Texas' Colorado River drainage, it also has nothing to do with the Rio Grande River drainage.
  12. Exact same issue my son had. On the MRI it looked like a torn labrum, but during the surgery they only had to shave off the bony growth. Very painful but intermittent and hard to diagnose.
  13. The Virginian still posts updates on Wyoming games.
  14. Tom Cruise is a horrible human being. A friend of my son interacted with him on a ski lift. Basically she said hi to him just being friendly with no idea who he was (he was wearing a helmet and gaiter), he told her he was Tom Cruise and she wasn't allowed to talk to him.
  15. Dammit keep the fucking politics in the Cloak Room. I can look at about a million websites if I want political coverage. I come to Surly to avoid this shit.
  16. Colorado is a big state and making statements that no restaurants are going to be open in a couple weeks is just irresponsible.
  17. I live in the area, so it is local news. Supposedly the lady has a spinal cord injury.
  18. Actually the driver wasn’t in the vehicle, the lady passenger suffered severe injuries but will live, and their dog was rescued a couple days later.
  19. Freshmen year, September 18, 1982. Texas 21, Utah 12.
  20. Norwegian - orange color is oransje, while orange fruit is applesin.
  21. Unlike that other asshole who thinks he owns Colorado. Surly members and other Texans are always welcome in my state.
