In my experience, DART has been smooth and reliable. It was only bad in 2009, which was the first year they started running it for this game. But now they have it streamlined-- the trains run on a special event schedule and are pretty constant. Even with large crowds of people, they move out pretty quickly. If you go to the train right after the game, you should be able to get on a train within 15 minutes of exiting the cotton bowl. For reference, I've been taking DART every year for the past decade.

Vagina alert, everybody. Complete and utter gaping vagina alert right here.

We’re going to beat Tech by 30. This is our 2004 season, and Quinn is our Vince (who beat tech in Lubbock by 30 in 2004). Next year is 2005, baby.

Let’s win, bitches. Reposting this here bc I don’t think enough people saw it in the game week thread: All week we've been hearing nothing except for how Texas will be blown off the field, doesn't belong in the same sentence with Bama, and is going to embarrass themselves. Where have we heard that before? Not SEC ready, blah blah. Fuck all that. We're 7-1-1 against Bama, and everybody knows that the result of the single game in the loss column was bullshit. Our decline started with that loss to Bama, and so too did their rise. Reversal of fortune incoming. Saban made a goddamn deal with the devil, and it's now time to pay the piper. We actually have a few things working for us in this matchup that not very many are talking about or are willing to admit. Nick Saban is a bitch when it comes to scheduling out of conference road games. He doesn't play them. Bama hasn't lost often in the regular season during the Saban era, but when they have, it's been on the road (2013 Auburn; 2014 Ole Miss; 2017 Auburn; 2019 Auburn; 2021 aggy). We have generally played pretty well against highly ranked teams in recent seasons, especially at home. LSU in 2019 was electric and we were right there. This year's Bama is not better than that LSU team. When Bama has struggled in the Saban era, it has usually been the result of two things from the other side: talented RBs and TEs in space. Guess what Texas' two biggest positional advantages in this matchup are? We will have the best RB and TE on the field this Saturday. And there is no one better than former Bama OC and our current head coach to scheme and create the type of space required for Bijan and Sanders to be successful. Our offense is going to operate, and we're going to score. To prevail today, we will also need a great game from our defense. We might get it. Against ULM last week, I saw something in our defense that I haven't seen in several seasons--our players were routinely in position to make plays and limit offensive gains (the lone exception was Brockmeyer's contribution in trash time that resulted in ULM's only touchdown). The tackling was also much improved from previous seasons. Sure we're young, but we still have speed and size with playmaking potential. We actually got pressure (and a few sacks) against ULM in our opener (Bama didn't in theirs), which is something that we were incapable of doing to any team last year. While high-level and consistent play for 4 quarters on Saturday will be a tall order, the social facilitation of a raucous and hostile DKR will help our defense. Our biggest weakness against Bama will be our depth. We're going to have to do more with less. We'll likely need to get some help with turnovers or on big special teams plays (we successfully accomplished both last week). But pulling this off doesn't seem hopelessly out of reach, given the amp and energy of the stadium and spotlight that we'll be dealing with. Our team has been preparing themselves for this moment for months. There are some vulnerabilities in Bama's otherwise invincible armor. Their own fanbase has been expressing some nervousness about their relatively lackluster offensive line performance last week. Their minimal defensive line pressure (and zero sacks) against Utah State has been another concern. Bama is mortal, gentlemen, and we are capable of beating them. I'm not saying that we'll win... but don't be fucking surprised if we do. Fuck Bama and Hook 'em Horns.

Texas: 33 Bama: 30 Ewers with 271 combined yards.

We’re gonna win. I had a dream that I was hanging out with Paris Hilton and then we beat Bama. We good.
-
Score Prediction: Texas 56 v ULM 17 Prop Bet: Bijan- 179 yards total offense- 131 rushing 48 receiving I'm attending the opener in person. Have yet to see the new stadium in its glory at night, but I am looking forward to it for this game. Really hoping that we see something special out of this group and have good season to show for it when it's all done. Hook 'em.

I think it’s the personnel. I’m firmly in the “give Sark more time” camp. He’s proven an ability to scheme touchdowns against superior teams, even with our current lackluster roster. The problem is when our superior opponents make adjustments and the schemes stop working, our players are currently unable to close the deal. We need better players, period. I have high hopes for Sark, and It’s far too early to write him off. Only thing we should be writing off right now is the rest of this season.

Yeah, our season comes down to next week. It’s must win in every sense of the phrase. The loss today hurts, but it’s actually meaningless if we win next week— we’ll still be in complete control of our conference title destiny. Next week is also a major recruiting weekend and Okst will be top10, undefeated. We absolutely have to beat them.

My fellow assholes, it’s another glorious Friday . . .

We're going to beat the shit out of these toothless motherfuckers. Eliminate them from the championship game. TEXAS! -
I know, this is like our 4th thread on OU, but fuck em. We’re beating these cocksuckers in Dallas this week. Literally every team that OU has played with a pulse this season has had a chance to beat them in the fourth quarter. Imagine what happens when they play a team that has more than a pulse. If OU continues playing the way they have been, they are going to drop at least two games before season’s end; there is no reason it shouldn’t start on Saturday. Fuck around and find out. Moreover, our team shouldn’t be intimidated by OU at all. We should go into this game believing and expecting that we’ll beat their asses. OU isn’t a bunch of world beaters this year. The talent gap isn’t really there. Rattler is their worst qb in the past several years and doesn’t read plays very well. OU is very mortal. We have some fucking studs on our roster and Sark has our offense humming. We’re going to score. OU will score too, but we’re not going into turtle bitch mode like we have in past contests with them. In sum, OU fucking sucks and we’re going to make them fuck around and find out this weekend. Hook ‘em, motherfuckers.

OU is about to fuck around and find out in Dallas.
-
How did he catch that? We broke his ribs.
-
Sloppy start, but happy we got points.
-
I admit that I’m not a football coach, but I’m going to hold this against Sark. Not putting Casey in at the end of 1H was a major coaching fail.
-
-
This is NOT the game for dicker to be missing his kicks.
-
I'm on CCU big tonight. They're going to beat Kansas by 30+. Also on Army big tomorrow. Playing at home on 9/11 anniversary, Army will cover.
-
We need to be ready for a dogfight. Arkansas will play their best game of the season against us. But fuck Arkansas. We win next week, and it is fucking ON for the season.
-
Am I dreaming? Let’s fuck ULaLa up. Hook them all fucking day.

No joke. He must not have been following the team very closely that year and I question whether he was even really a Longhorn fan. When USC took a 12 point lead with 6 minutes left, I calmly turned to my buddies and said, “I’d like to welcome y’all to the Vince Young show.” And we proceeded to watch the climactic closing act of the greatest college football game ever played. You know the rest.
