  1. This may be worse than 2016. Think I’m out for the night
  2. I realize it’s taken for granted now, but everyone should go look at what this dumb fuck was saying at this time 4 years ago. Hilarious
  3. Florida is a red state. Just like Ohio, just like Texas. Anyone dreaming of a flip of any of those three is not living in the real world.
  4. What time is Iowa usually called? Certainly don't expect a Harris win, but more interested than usual for obvious reasons.
  5. I don't think so. I thought it was urinal cake or some other more prominent name, but honestly I could be totally wrong.
  6. I think I spot some Grand Tremezzo umbrellas. Don't sleep on their pizzas in the back pool area.
  7. Who was the absolutely unhinged guy that started spaz posting in 2020 before the good news started rolling in? I think T Tom was already gone by then
  8. I will say that Ralston's analysis is basically "too close to call but tie goes to Dems in Nevada". I think it's a shoulder shrug masked as a prediction, but I'll take it.
  9. Anora was predictably fantastic. Love Sean Baker’s work
  10. To give some context, the final 2016 Selzer poll was Trump + 7 (he won by 9). The final 2020 Selzer poll was Trump +7 (he won by 8).
  11. Fun story. My grandfather (a classic conservative republican) was a dentist and the mayor of a mid size city in Texas in the 70s. During his stint as mayor, he pushed through a policy to add fluoride to the city water. I remember him telling me that the local yokels were convinced he was poisoning the city. Over 50 years later, that same city will overwhelmingly vote to go back in time. Incredible
  12. Feels like Florida just missed an opportunity to throw a 1 yard swing pass to a running back.
  13. Half this thread (if not more) voted for Bush, but I don’t think a single one would stand up for him now. Most have realized they were duped by their upbringing and environment (although some still cling to some silly notion of fiscal conservatism or libertarianism).
  14. I see this from a fair number of my partners at work (all white men of course). A combination of taxes (mostly imaginary concerns) and Lina Kahn. A lot of “well I hate Trump the person but I hate these crazy left policies more”. Drives me crazy from a moral standpoint, but if it’s not changing by round 3, it’s not changing.
  15. I mean, that’s great, but has there been an election she has publicly said democrats were not going to win?
  16. One of my faves. That first drop from the staircase is special
  17. One problem Trump has on the legal front is that representing him is toxic for the big firms that have the elite practice groups he needs. Ted Olson ain’t walking through that door. Jones Day was about the only big shop that was willing to represent him, but I think I read an article that even they were sitting this one out.
  18. I thought we were told to only pay attention to Ralston in Nevada and ignore the polls?
  19. Buddy, you really need to increase your cocktail of ritalin and ozempic and go touch some grass this week.
  20. In that imaginary scenario I’d probably feel good, but I’m not convinced that’s the correct framing of the situation. But again, I’m not out here analyzing and unskewing polls and EV data, so I hope you all turn out to be right.
