  1. Have you watched any Texas football games over the past three years? It seems like you haven’t.
  2. Those stats are exactly why I said I would love to see what Sark could do with him. I agree, Greg Davis was clueless, and catching balls from Gilbert, Case and Ash must have really sucked. One of the best things about Sark is he knows how to use talented skill guys. Edit to add: not suggesting Goodwin is even close to as good as Worthy.
  3. Marquis Goodwin, the guy who was an Olympian, drafted in the 3rd round and is still in the NFL? Yeah I think Sark just might be able to find a way to get him on the field.
  4. I don’t know how this thread devolved into a comparison of this 4-0 team that struggled against Rice and Wyoming to a few of the top 10 teams in Texas history. Comparing this team to the 08 or 09 teams is a fantasy at this point. The 09 team had 2 of the top 5 offensive players in college football, and the second best defensive player in college football. 11 of the primary 12 defenders on that team defense were drafted. The offensive line was ass, sure, but having the best quarterback in college football does wonders for your offense. As an aside, would love to see what Sark could do with Goodwin. Even mentioning this team in the same breath as 05 is so stupid it doesn’t even deserve a response.
  5. 1 - Georgia (South Carolina) 2 - Florida State (LSU, @Clemson) 3 - Texas (@Bama) 4 - Ohio State (@ND) 5 - Utah (Florida, UCLA) 6 - Penn St (Iowa) 7 - Oregon (Colorado, @Tech) 8 - Duke (Clemson) 9 - Washington St. (Oregon St., Wisconsin) 10 - Kansas (BYU, Illinois) 11 - North Carolina (South Carolina, Minnesota) 12 - Miami (A&M) 13 - Washington (they look awesome, but their schedule has been deceptively trash. Best win is Michigan St., a dumpster fire) 14 - Oklahoma (Cincy; SMU) 15 - USC (ASU) 16 - Missouri (KSU) 17 - Notre Dame (@NC State) 18 - Alabama (Ole Miss) 19 - LSU (MSU, Ark) 20 - BYU (Ark) 21 - Florida (I think Florida is a trash team with Charlie Strong 2.0 as a coach, and they will be lucky to finish 6-6. But the win over Tenn at this point in this season is a good win) 22 - Colorado (TCU; Nebraska) 23 - Louisville (G Tech, Indiana, BC) 24 - Maryland (MSU, UVA) 25 - Michigan (they won't play an above average team until November 11. An absolute fucking joke that they will be the consensus #2 until that time. I will keep moving them down as other 1 loss teams get good wins).
  6. But an extra point puts you up 2 scores; miss the 2 point and you are only up 1 score.
  7. Can anyone explain the logic on going for 2 there?
  8. KU and BYU both look like decent teams to me.
  9. I asked my Auburn buddy if he thought they had a chance this weekend. His response was that they probably don't have the dudes this year, but "With Jimbo on their sideline, there's always a chance."
  10. I can’t believe I’m participating in this off-season bait thread, but Sam is in his own universe compared to the other guys on this list. Ewers obviously has the talent and supporting cast to wreck shop this season, but we’ll see. The other guys aren’t even worth wasting keyboard strokes on, except Case McCoy will always be a legend.
  11. Submitting mostly so I remember to submit going forward. I try to do somewhat of a resume ranking (excluding Georgia) that wildly fluctuates in the early part of the season, but it's impossible to be entirely consistent. I included best wins in parenthesis. 1 - Georgia (South Carolina) 2 - Texas (@Bama) 3 - Florida State (LSU, @BC) 4 - Utah (Florida, @Baylor) 5 - Washington (Michigan St.) 6 - Duke (Clemson, Northwestern) 7 - Penn State (WVU, @Illinois) 8 - North Carolina (South Carolina, Minnesota) 9 - Notre Dame (@NC State) 10 - Colorado (@TCU, Nebraska) 11 - Miami (A&M) 12 - Ole Miss (@Tulane, Georgia Tech) 13 - Washington State (Wisconsin) 14 - BYU (@Arkansas) 15 - Missouri (Kansas St) 16 - Oregon (@Tech) 17 - Kansas (Illinois) 18 - Oklahoma (SMU) 19 - Ohio State (Indiana) 20 - USC (Stanford) 21 - Iowa (Iowa St.) 22 - Louisville (Georgia Tech, Indiana) 23 - Michigan 24 - Oregon State 25 - UCLA
  12. 31-13 Texas. Frustrating first half, pull away second half. 272 on yards.
  13. He’s complaining about this board attacking a 5 star we would welcome with open arms, just because Gerry Hamilton and others have implied he strung along our coaches behind the scenes. But he’s fighting a losing battle. Nobody sniffs their own farts more than recruiting boards. Tigerdroppings thinks Colin Simmons is an asshole, texags thinks Anthony Hill is an asshole, surlyhorns thinks Micah Hudson is an asshole, some hillbilly in Auburn thinks some other hillbilly going to Alabama is an asshole, and the beat goes on.
  14. I’ll be really, really surprised if Bama wins 10 games. They look cooked.
  15. One of the all time greats. Always reminds me of the wacky shit you can get into at 4am as a 20 something in new york.
  16. You are probably right from a production perspective, and ultimately that’s all that matters. But give me Duvernay with 3 years of Sark all day every day.
  17. This reminds me of when IT (I assume Nahlin, but can’t remember) tried to window dress Kubiak when he was floated as a possibility after the Urban dream died. Peak 9.95.
  18. I don’t think your receiver take is that crazy (Duvernay in particular), but I can’t fuck with your tight end take. JT is our best tight end since at least Jermichael.
  19. He’s the Art Garfunkel of our generation. Nothing wrong with that.
  20. I could actually see the A&M/Urban marriage. It will be a shitstorm for any self-aware fan base and program to hire Urban after the way things went down in Jacksonville. Of course A&M has no problem with being the laughing stock of college football.
  21. I graduated high school in 2006, and although I watched games like the Rose Bowl rooting for my future school, I wasn't really a huge fan at the time (dad went to Tech, mom was a 2% aggy). So, I'll omit everything before I got to UT. 1. 2008 OU - The game that kick started the obsession (so I can blame this game for an extreme amount of heartbreak, money spent, and time wasted over the past 15 years). 2. 2023 Alabama - I reserve the right to bump this down if we finish this season 8-4 or worse (but see 5 below). 3. 2009 Big 12 Championship Game - in retrospect that season was kind of a slog without a ton of excitement. This game was grueling to endure, sure, but pure jubilation/relief when the kick went through. 4. Last aggy game. 5. 2016 Notre Dame - fuck it, I remember thinking we were in fact back. What a fucking idiot. Other nominees include 49-0, 2018 OU, 2019 Sugar Bowl, 2008 Missouri, 2009 Tech.
  22. The classic Tom Herman approach to receivers. Only the slot receiver is allowed to catch passes, and only one guy per year is allowed to play in the slot.
