  1. I expected BOS to win this series because of their defense. Not because they would match GS shot for shot. What a second half
  2. This continues to be an absolutely wild thing that happened
  3. Completely agree with this, particularly if Boston gets through. GS can be great, but they've also been relatively fortuitous in these playoffs, playing a weak Denver team, closing out Memphis without Ja, and playing a very flawed Dallas team. If Boston makes it through Miami, I would give them the edge, although I would prefer to see GS win.
  4. Utterly implausible in a movie with a duel inside a volcano. But I get that it’s hard to see beyond the surface level for some folks, no shame in that.
  5. Your position is that it's totally unbelievable that an enslaved person would want to kill their capture because he "elevated her status tremendously", and that a rape victim might bear ill will toward the product of said rape? All in 10th century Iceland? That's...an interesting take.
  6. Holy moly, what a dunk. That was not an offensive foul unless utter disrespectfulness is a foul.
  7. For my money the best 4 players in the NBA right now are Giannis, Jokic, Luka and Durant. 4 absolute unicorns. Pretty cool time in the league.
  8. Cross-posting from another thread, but watched MEN last night. It is…something. I overall “liked it”, although some parts didn’t really work for me. I would suggest seeing it once in a theater. Jesse Buckley can do no wrong. Alex Garland had a lot of shit kicking around in his head about men/masculinity and it’s interaction with/impact on women.
  9. On the whole I liked it, and Jesse Buckley can do no wrong in my book. Keeping with the theme of this thread, I saw a trailer for Olivia Wilde’s new movie with Florence Pugh, Don’t Worry Darling. Adding it to the list.
  10. Definitely all of these. Seeing MEN next Wednesday. Super excited for the White Noise (Baumbach) and Killers of the Flower Moon (Marty) adaptations, though I’m not convinced it will happen in 2022. Very excited for James Gray’s Armageddon Time. Intrigued by Barbie, only because Greta and Margot can do no wrong. Couple others on my list are Good Luck to You, Leo Grande, Emergency, When You Finish Saving the World, and Speak No Evil (though I’ve heard this is super fucked up). I also have You Wont Be Alone ready to watch at home soon.
  11. Saban will probably somewhat walk back his comments and frame it as commentary on the post-NIL landscape and not A&M doing anything illegal (which of course everyone knows is bullshit, but whatever it’s college football). Nothing will happen to A&M, and anyone hoping otherwise probably thinks Waddle is on his way to Austin.
  12. I still think Boston is the superior team as long as they get Smart back. Jimmy was awesome Monday but he just as easily might drop 14 points in Game 3 or 4. I'd still pick Boston in 6 at this point, but would absolutely love to be wrong.
  13. Draymond is one of the best defenders AND playmakers of the last decade, and a critical part of one of the great teams in NBA history. He’s also really fucking annoying as an opposing fans, but that doesn’t make him any less of a great player.
  14. I remember being 10 years old and absolutely devastated that the Mavericks missed out on Jamison and drafted some no name dude who’s name I couldn’t pronounce.
  15. Ordinarily I’d be all over that, but I don’t think my pregnant wife would tolerate being my DD to tour vineyards. Which is a shame because I fucking love Chenin Blanc. I guess I just need to figure out if there is enough non-wine stuff to do or if it’s worth the hassle of traveling elsewhere.
  16. Looking for his own one person podcast to regurgitate Ryen Russillo takes without any pushback.
  17. Anyone have any Nantes and/or Loire Valley experience? I have a wedding outside of Nantes on July 2, and trying to decide whether to make it a week in the Loire Valley or just take a quick flight to Provence or something.
  18. What’s the best way to get tickets for one of the “if necessary” games? I’d like to get tickets for Game 6 assuming it’s played.
  19. It continues to absolutely stun me that Kidd is a good coach after he was so bad in Milwaukee. This is fun
  20. Segue into 45 minute segment on top 10 Celtics wins of all time.
  21. Holy smokes Tatum. Bill Simmons is going to be intolerable
  22. That sounds like a dope night. I go to the LT1 in Meatpacking often.
  23. Who are folks picking for MIL-BOS tonight? I have a bad feeling Boston is going to pull it out. The Bucks have the best player on the planet plus Jrue Holiday, but I’ve felt all along that Boston had the better team with Middelton’s absence. Hope to be wrong.
  24. The safe bet is Phoenix and I fully expect them to win game 7 at home. But Luka is the best player in the series by a healthy margin, and if they can get a good showing from Brunson and Dinwiddie (the latter a big if, especially on the road), they have a real chance to win, especially if CP3 is no show yet again.
