  1. This is one of the worst sentences I’ve ever seen constructed. My eyes are bleeding.
  2. Done. Can't wait to get it in. Dealer sent tons of additional pics. There were a few scuffs on the outside of the case with the close up photos, but I decided I didn't mind given the price point and how much I like the watch. Dealer sent the timegrapher reading and it looks to be functioning great. Thanks everyone for bearing with.
  3. I continue to believe it is more likely than not that he is very successful there (and in fact he was my preferred choice once we whiffed on Urban), but he is absolutely making some puzzling decisions thus far.
  4. Strongly considering pulling the trigger on this IWC. <10 years old with original papers and what appears to be very good condition, and I like the thinner case (~9mm) compared to the De Ville (~13mm). Seems like a good price after shopping around a bit.
  5. She is, it's just not rapid so won't know for several days (the nyc PCR backlog is silly at the moment). But, I had read that you can produce a positive result with a PCR test for weeks/months after having COVID due to its sensitivity, even though you may not necessarily be contagious for that long. She went to a primary care doc about a week ago, and they told her that the recurring fever for several weeks is actually pretty common. She was still testing positive at that time.
  6. Question that may be dumb. Wife tested positive for COVID 4 weeks ago. Most of her symptoms went away 2 weeks ago, but she's run a 99-100 fever every single day in 10-12 hour increments, including the middle of last night. In between fevers she feels fine. Today she tested negative with an at home test, and then negative again with a rapid antigen at a lab. Under CDC guidelines and/or general medical common sense, can she responsibly break quarantine due to the negative test results, or still contagious due to the recurring fever?
  7. I think McKay's interview with Sean Fennessey on the Big Picture pod was very good, and they touch on some of the concepts underpinning the movie, including the construction of the ending sequence compared to most non-satirical disaster movies. There are also plenty of written interviews/articles easily googleable. I think Leo even did a 2 minute explainer video for Netflix. But yeah, I'm not saying more because this isn't the right place.
  8. Watched The Lost Daughter (on Netflix) and The Humans (on Showtime) over the weekend. The Lost Daughter is Maggie Gyllenhaal's directorial debut, based on a 2006 novel. I think classified as a psychological thriller (though that may be a bit misleading), it explores the tensions that seem inherent in motherhood (I would assume). I thought it was really, really excellent. Olivia Coleman and Jessie Buckley were phenomenal. Some of the "omens" were a bit heavy handed, and I just can't really buy Dakota Johnson, but overall a great watch. The Humans is a bit like a horror movie without the blood and guts. I thought it worked well overall and is worth a watch. Gave me flashbacks of the first time my parents visited my crappy apartment in nyc many years ago.
  9. It absolutely is an activist movie and it absolutely does have an agenda. Both creators and the lead actor have been shouting the agenda to anyone who will listen.
  10. It would be helpful if a prominent public official - or maybe even the wife of a prominent public official - devoted 8 years to promoting something like healthy school lunches. I bet we could all coalesce around something as common sense as that.
  11. I legit have no memory of Anthony Johnson or Charlie Williams and I feel like I follow this shit [program] religiously.
  12. I would very much like to see Kitan Crawford on the field if he doesn’t hit the portal.
  13. That was one of the most lol moments for me. It reminded me of the ATN scrawls on Succession, like “Gender Fluid Illegals May Be Entering the Country Twice!”
  14. Ok, I see you are referring to the actual characters, rather than the overall circumstances facing the characters, which they creators of the film have been extremely clear about.
  15. What winking and nodding do you think was taking place re exaggerated circumstances?
  16. I think he’s still around. Just posts less after he got time off for going full on Joe Rogan nutter.
  17. You guys don’t really have to guess
  18. It’s an imperfect measurement for a variety of reasons (particularly because it doesn’t take transfers into account), but Charlie Strong’s 2014 team had a 60% Blue Chip Ratio (top 10). Tom Herman’s 2017 team had a 46% Blue Chip Ratio (well outside of the top 10). Sark’s 2021 team had a 66% Blue Chip Ratio (back inside the top 10).
  19. There are virtually zero data points indicating Sarkisian will succeed here. There are a massive shit ton of data points indicating he will not. Of course we all hope that isn’t the case - and perhaps Ewers can be his Vince Young/Cam Newton - but simply saying “we don’t know anything” doesn’t come close to telling the full story.
  20. I've done this dance every year during end of year bonus season since I graduated from law school 7 years ago. Every year I hesitate a bit thinking I'm buying in at the peak, and every year I bite the bullet and dump it in nevertheless. And it just keeps on going up. I buy VOO mostly.
  21. It’s weird how this virus effects people so differently. My wife and I both became symptomatic on the same day (with basically everyone else in New York). I ran 100-101 for 3-4 days, and then was pretty much fine outside of fatigue, taste and some mild shortness of breath. We’re on day 14, and my wife has had 99-100 every single day, and today ran up to 101. Early 30s, good shape, vaxxed and boosted, sleeping a ton, but just can’t seem to shake it. Frustrating.

  23. Thanks for starting, I’m in. Thought episode 5 was great. I find myself much more interested in the flashbacks than the “present day”
  24. Certainly possible this is true, but sounds very similar to what I just went through with Covid. Started feeling bad with a fever, took an at home test, negative. Next day feeling worse, got a rapid antigen and a 24 hour PCR, both came back negative. Then had 3 straight days of 101-102 fever. On day 6 fever was back to low grade so I took another rapid antigen, came back positive.
