  1. Agree on Keilan. Tough to take the ball out of Bijan’s hands, but Keilan needs more than the DJ Monroe package.
  2. Not that its going to matter, but I’m not sure that’s a slam dunk this year. If Alabama and Georgia meet undefeated in the SEC championship game, they are absolutely both getting in. Oregon is in if they win out or go 11-1. And 11-1 OSU with a loss to Oregon probably gets in over 11-1 Texas with a loss to Arkansas.
  3. Outside of the 99 yard drive where they seemed to be playing prevent, I didn’t think they played too bad considering some of our talent deficiencies. Crazy that Anthony Cook might be our best defensive player.
  4. Cook has been such a pleasant surprise this year.
  5. Many thanks. I booked Vietti and will look into the others.
  6. Comedy Cellar. I think he’s been around there and and Union Hall in Brooklyn. Did the omakase at Shuko over the weekend. It was awesome and had a great atmosphere (more NYC than Tokyo sushi bar), but IMHO it hits the wallet a little too hard given the number of good omakase options in the city.
  7. Just booked a last minute trip for this October. 6 nights in Monforte d'Alba during the truffle festival in Alba, and 3 nights in Lake Como. Grabbed a dinner reservation at Piazza Duomo. Need to book some winery visits in Barolo and Barbaresco, and maybe a truffle hunt. My wife and I may be the youngest people there by 40 years, but looking forward to a relaxing trip after 2 years of mostly shit. If anyone has been and needs any recs, I'm all ears. Also need to figure out the transfer from Milan to Alba region, but I'm guessing it is going to end up being a car rental.
  8. If you told us that Herman would take the flaming garbage can of a program Charlie Strong “built” and turn it into an above average but falling short of expectations program, well you were spot on my guy.
  9. I really hope my sarcasm meter is broken because every word of this sentence is fucking brutal on a Texas board.
  10. I just want to say this is maybe the best use of this gif ever
  11. The defensive line performance has been one of the biggest disappointments of the season so far in my view. I think anyone with a modicum of rationality expected struggles from the offensive line and wide receivers this year, given the awful recruiting and coaching in those departments the last few years. But we have actually recruited pretty damn well along the defensive line, specifically at defensive tackle, and the struggles don't really make sense to me. It seems like it's about time to give up on Coburn being a true difference on a consistent basis. Collins is the most talented defensive lineman we've had since Malcom Brown, and either he or the coaches really need to wake the fuck up.
  12. I’ve been thinking about trying 10 days in Sicily this October. Always been on my list but seems like a real pain in the ass to plan. Interested in recommendations also
  13. My man. Best restaurant in the city. Took father in law to David Bryne’s American Utopia last night. It was awesome. Watching all those old nerds dance with each other was touching.
  14. Christian Jones following in the illustrious footsteps of Tristan Nickelson, Cameron Hughes and Marcus Hutchins.
  15. We’re going to need to repurpose that rollercoaster meme everyone loves so much. Except we’d all give our left nut to make it to October before it all comes crashing down.
  16. Probably already posted. Don’t care. One of the greatest jokes ever.
  17. The fact that they are sticking with Okafor after the first two weeks is cause for concern in my view. I have serious doubts Christian Jones will ever be a serviceable player here, but he is at least relatively athletic and young with room to grow, so I suppose I could end up being wrong. Okafor is none of those things. In 6 years he has simply never been an average offensive lineman. There is no chance Hayden Connor or Tyler Johnson or Karic could be worse than Okafor, and at least they would be getting experience for the future. He seems like a good dude, but it's just not going to happen.
  18. I think Eltife and Hartzell have wide open eyes. Those guys did everything they could to hire Urban Meyer and move us to the SEC in the span of 6 months. Once they struck out on Urban there was no clear second choice, but I doubt Sark will last more than 3 years if Saturday is an indication of future performance. That is especially true if we join the SEC next year and get dominated by A&M. Those guys understand recruiting and what that result would mean on the trail.
  19. Peak Time: Coincidently, whenever responding poster was under 30. Rock Bottom: Coincidently, from and after responding poster’s 40th birthday.
  20. I’m not positive but I feel like concern about the offensive line may have been warranted in retrospect. Maybe I just don’t realize how much returning talent we actually have.
