  1. The question I have is whether non-corporate NIL survives in a major way post revenue sharing. Andy Reid isn’t out there begging Chiefs fans to crowd source $1 million “NIL deals” to sway free agents. Obviously people are inherently more passionate about their colleges vs pro sports teams (and many college teams aren't in markets that would support corporate NIL), so I suspect the answer is yes, but it’s an odd dynamic nonetheless.
  2. lol I thought the exact same thing.
  3. I don’t disagree with anything re Quinn, but I have a tough time seeing A&M scoring that many points. I think it’s going to be a really ugly, low scoring game.
  4. Scourton for sure. Turner might also. That’s probably it.
  5. I’m saying it should be that way.
  6. It should really be post integration, like all other sports. Which isn’t a fixed date, but 1970 or so (for us, obviously).
  7. He’s Steely Dan’s nephew
  8. Exactly. Who knows if these guys will pan out, but we are a prime example of how hitting on an offensive line class can be program changing. And, missing on 3 5 star in state tackles in one class kind of stings, even if we have legit guys already on campus for once.
  9. So I guess mid 30s is when one officially gets old, because I legitimately have never heard of Dude Perfect
  10. For me it’s more about their defensive strengths matching up well against some of our offensive weaknesses. They are generally good at staying on schedule on defense, allowing them to get pressure on obvious passing situations. Their weakness is being prone to explosive plays. We don’t need to rehash the Quinn thread, but needless to say his strengths do not include handling pressure or throwing downfield. On the other hand, I’ll be really surprised if they score more than 14-17 points unless our offense totally fucks over our defense like the first half against Georgia.
  11. Robert Earle Keen is tan, rested and ready
  12. I think there is some truth to this. I listened to the OTF Lucci pod this morning (shudder), and he was pretty level headed about their chances, which tells me he is pretty concerned. He basically said, Texas is capable of winning a national championship, but they aren't on par with 05 Texas or the recent Bama/Georgia champions, so A&M has a shot.
  13. This joke was even better the second time
  14. I was talking about this with one of my good friends who was on some of those really good 2010s LSU teams. He basically said rivalry games mean virtually nothing extra to the players at big time programs.
  15. Texas 20 A&M 17, but we lead by 10 or so most of the game until Pete does his prevent thing near the end. Sweet baby Jesus let Quinn and Blue hold on to the ball Texas passing for 207
  16. Truly respect your dedication to playing Baghdad Bob when it comes to Quinn.
  17. After the Vernon Broughton reclamation this year, I think I’m about done writing off players under this staff.
  18. My only real concern with this game is our offense making the game impossible for our defense. We might be better at every single position group, and I really doubt A&M can sustain long drives against our defense. But our schizophrenic offense, maddening ball security, and unreliable kicking game can make this game way closer than it should be.
  19. But they aren’t being punished for the 4th loss. They’re being punished for the 3rd loss. If they beat us next week and the season stopped, they still wouldn’t get in. But of course you are right, who knows what the committee will actually do
  20. Not quite the same as before. I think they have to win the SEC to get in now. If they beat us and lose to Georgia, I find it hard to believe they get in
  21. So we’re now in the playoff for sure, right?
  22. Yep. This team has a lot of warts and next week is very much a toss up at best, but we’re 10-1, and after the last decade I’m still enjoying the hell out of every win
