  1. Had Mack not been a complete bitch when it came to Major Applewhite, and let Vince be Vince a year earlier. Along with finding someone better than Blake Gideon. Texas would've played for Titles in 2001, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2009. That's pretty fucking outstanding.
  2. This is such a bullshit take. Texas was in contention for a National Title multiple times over the years. TCU was in the fucking WAC, quit being a bitch. Played for a National title in 1963, 1969, 1970, 1977, 1983, 2005, 2009. 99% of college football would trade all the tea in China just for that. Yes, Texas seems to step on their own dick instead of being a killer. But to act like we're fucking TCU is being a disingenuous gaping pussy.
  3. Losing Neyor this year really hurt us imho. It's clear the receiver room needs a leader and some maturity. X is a "me first" guy and Whittington seems like a quiet just do my job type. It seems to be the same problem in the secondary. Would be nice to see us use the portal for mature, strong leadership types that are solid starters. Don't need you to be a star, just don't fuck us and provide some leadership for the young guys.
  4. Agreed, I was just looking at 2004/2005 USC and 2006 Arkansas to compare how those teams split carries between having 2 really talented runners (Bush, White, McFadden, Jones). 2004 USC: White 203 carries 1,103 yds; Bush 143 carries 908 yds 346 total carries. Avg of 26 carries per game. 2005 USC: Bush 200 carries 1,740 yds; White 197 carries 1,302 yds 397 total carries. Avg of 30 carries per game. 2006 Arkansas: McFadden 284 carries 1,647 yds; Jones 154 carries 1,168 yds 438 total carries. Avg of 31 carries per game. 2022 Texas: Robinson 258 carries 1,580 yds; Johnson 93 carries 554 yds 351 total carries. Avg of 27 carries per game. Kinda shocked to see how close it was to other duos. However, that USC team was loaded with talent on offense. Would like to see what Texas' record looked like had we ran the ball 400+ times with Bijan and Rojo.
  5. We just finished with the 54th ranked defense. Sadly that's the highest ranked defense Texas has had since 2017. Yes, getting off the field on 3rd and 4th down were clearly an issue this year. But if you can't see progress was made on that side of the ball I don't know what to tell you.
  6. you're missing what I'm saying. Is Texas not capable of being "Loaded to the gills" with NFL talent. I would bet that on Paper Texas has more "star" power than both Michigan and TCU 50% of the field. Hell, I bet Texas has higher ranked recruits than 70% of the top 10 ranked teams...... I realize that just because these players are ranked by some recruiting service that doesn't mean anything. But holy fuck, can a coach that comes to Texas develop a fuckin roster at some point? especially with NIL and the Transfer Portal now. Much easier to have fill in years with transfer players until the younger guys are ready to hit the field.
  7. Don't confuse my frustration with wanting to make change. I've had my fill with the 3 year coaching shuffle that has been going on in Austin. I'd give him 5 years tbh (unless the wheels completely fall off).
  8. Agreed. I have zero issues with how Sark recruits. Honestly, he's excelling in that area.
  9. It means we're dumb and do things ass backwards. Such as targeting 5* WR's and QB's while neglecting the trenches for over a decade. Don't even get me started on the LB position. Had Texas ever focused on this area of very obvious weakness we're probably not wandering the wonderland of average for 10+ years.
  10. Max Duggan, JJ McCarthy, and Stetson Bennett are 75% of the playoff field this year. Is there some reason Texas is one of the few schools that needs some legendary type of QB to win anything of significance?
  11. Champ games are fucking dumb and a complete money grab. The fact that Kansas St. is considered the conference Champion despite having less conference wins and is 1-1 against the actual champion is dumb AF. But the games make millions so they're not going anywhere.
  12. Def taking Sanders over Wiley. And Kelvin Banks, that kid is gonna be special.
  13. how hard is it to line up in the I form with 3 TE's and run through the 2 hole with a lead blocker? I'm seriously flabbergasted at Michigan's play calling...... WTF are they doing?
  14. say "meat" and "chicken" together fast and you'll figure it out.
  15. I'm still lost on why they run Philly special from the 2? Put 3 TE's in and make them stop you. Now Harbaugh is acting like they need to go full Big 12 and toss the rock around with garbage McCarthy. RUN THE GD BALL
  16. we're :45 seconds into the game, but ya I see them just getting bludgeoned by that OL the rest of the way.
  17. Didn't Duv go through his entire career at Texas without a drop?
  18. Can someone go comment "Get in the mutha-fucka!" on his page.
  19. 14-17 point victory for Michigan. Not a blowout, but comfortable.
  20. I see this game going very similar to what we just watched.
  21. Not always the case, but yes that's factual more often than not. Lets have the game sequence do the talking though. Bijan Robinson running sequence vs TCU 1st Qtr 0-0 1 for 3 yds 2 for 0 yds 3 for 2 yds 4 for 1 yd 2nd Qtr TCU 0-0 5 for 8 yds 6 for 9 yds 7 for 0 yds 3rd Qtr TCU 3-0 8 for 0 yds 9 for 0 yds 10 for 0 yds 11 for -1 yd 4th Qtr TCU 17-3 ***12 for 7 yds*** Last Carry of the game for Bijan. Quinn Ewers sequence by Quarter 1 for incomplete 2 for incomplete 3 for sacked -6 yds 4 for incomplete End 1st Qtr 0/3 sacked for -6 yds 5 for incomplete 6 for incomplete 7 for incomplete 8 for incomplete 9 for interception 10 for 3 yds 11 for incomplete 12 for 12 yds 13 for 15 yds 14 for incomplete 15 for incomplete 16 for 9 yds End of 2nd Qtr 4/12 39 yds 1 int Halftime Stats 4/15 39 yds 1 int AT this point in the game the score is TCU 3-0
  22. No, you're right about that. I'm not saying if you start the game off by giving ROJO 12 straight carries that doesn't mean you win. What I'm saying is we shied away from the running game way too fast in favor of a true freshman throwing deep balls to invisible receivers. Here's a perfect example (because a common theme seems to be "TCU shut down Bijan") Here's TCU's commitment to their running game despite Texas "shutting it down" Kendre Miller running sequence vs Texas 1 for 5 yds 2 for -3 yds 3 for 4 yds 5 for 6 yds 6 for 4 yds 7 for 2 yds 8 for 4 yds 9 for 2 yds 10 for 5 yds 11 for 3 yds 12 for 5 yds 13 for -1 yd 14 for -1 yd 15 for 4 yds At this Point Miller had 15 carries for 39 yds 2.6 YPC ***16 for 75 yds TD*** 17 for 6 yds 18 for 9 yds 20 for 2 yds 21 for 1 yd 21 carries for 138 yds 1 TD 6.6 YPC The point is, when you have a dynamic player like Bijan Robinson, he can take one to the house at any point in time. He was given 12 carries during this game which is down right criminal. Meanwhile, QE was given the green light to launch 39 throw punts.
  23. The below information is why I'm really not a fan of Ex-Qb's becoming head coaches, defensive minded guys are more preferable for me personally. They seem to understand controlling the LOS and don't fall in love with throwing it around too much. Offensive minded guys seem to gravitate to the pass way too much. 2022 0-3 in games Texas passes 39 times or more. 5-0 in games with 40+ rushing attempts 2-5 in games with less than 35 rushing attempts It's so blatantly clear the path to success this year was through the legs of Bijan/Roschon. Rojo average 7.7 carries per game. 3-0 when Rojo had double digit carries. The largest deficit Texas has faced this season was in the Alamo Bowl when down 27-10 in the 3rd Quarter. At no point in any game should the running game have been abandoned which it was multiple times (Tech, OK St, TCU)
  24. Which really is the problem at Texas, since on paper it's only Oklahoma that has equal talent..... At least on paper. Even next year, our roster is the most talented than everyone in the Big 12. Yet, the expectation is 8 wins. Wtf is that?
  25. Is a coach really a good coach if they win because they have a more talented roster than their opponents? Isn't the reason a coach is identified and hired because they excelled despite having an overwhelming talent advantage ala Gary Patterson, Mike Leach, etc. Sark had better players than anyone they played at Alabama and at Carroll's USC. But when he's the head man in charge he can't win because the culture was nuked by Herman despite him leaving the most talented RB on the roster that's been in Austin since probably Ricky. Then apparently this dude is a QB whisperer yet can't do anything with a guy that was only ranked behind Bryce Young as a DT QB. If you can only be successful as a coach running a system, doesn't that make you a system coach? Saban has succeeded in a pro-style, power run, and now a spread offense. He's clearly an elite coach.
