  1. I know. But play to strengths. You also can't just force the ball down the field or you'll be behind the chains really quick. Obviously we've got to take shots down field, but use Playaction, deep crosses with Wittington. Basically stuff with window dressing. Can't just have max protect and think Card will sit in the pocket and carve people up like Ewers could. Gotta use his strengths.
  2. I know...... Luckily he's nowhere near as elusive as Harris, nor is he as gifted as a passer.
  3. Their OL is bad, they struggle to run, their QB is quick to pull it down and run if his first option isn't there. They look much better on defense than they have in recent years. Tech just doesn't seem to have many playmakers on offense. In regards to Card I don't feel Texas always puts him in the best position to succeed. He's not a strong armed gun slinger that's going to launch deep balls. He's deceptively fast and can throw the short and intermediate stuff. As soon as they started running screens to Witt and X the offense started moving with ease. Not to mention, he did hit X on a deep ball. Worthy dropped it. Ewers is clearly the best option. But Texas should be able to get through Tech and West Virginia without him. Bijan is great, but Rojo needs more carries.
  4. I've seen this game referenced a lot. I'm gonna see if I can find it on YouTube. Do you know the year? And can anyone give a recap?
  5. Why is Jett Bush still on this roster. FFS
  6. Lowell Galindo is such a dumb fuck. First offensive snap of the second half "this Texas team is really struggling to get going offensively" next play Bijan to the house. I hope he gets nuked when LHN becomes SECN2
  7. It'd be really awesome to see #2 get about 15-20 carries in the second half.
  8. It'd be nice to not always play to our opponents level.
  9. Announcers just compared Tech's QB to VY... Ummm fuck no.
  10. My favorite thread on surly. Watching these degenerates pummel each other in other men's jerseys is just prime entertainment and a friendly reminder of why I won't even accept free tickets to an NFL game.
  11. I was wrong. I'm sorry shaggy.
  12. Not to be a cunt, but Georgia won the title last year.
  13. Whelp, that was a pretty fun start.
  14. That's awesome that they can just tackle our LB's (Ford)
  15. Agreed, it's gonna be very hard to get the edge on them.
  16. Holding like a MF on that sack too. Let's go!
  17. Other than the 1 pressure, front 7 getting their teeth kicked in.
  18. I'm just being real about it. Of course at the end of the day anything can happen. And I'm going to watch and dissect every play just like I did when Texas was rolling ULM. Win or lose I'm a Texas fan regardless. I think still being here after the last 10 years proves that.
  19. Something about hearing the afterburners at full tilt after the national anthem that just makes you feel like "fuck ya, it's time for some football"
  20. Wish it was a B-1. Lived in Abilene for awhile, when those things flyover on full burner the city would shake. Awesome display of power. It was a perfect flyover to start this game. https://youtu.be/A4yOtYD5mkw Feed cuts out for a sec from it being so loud. GD that game was just perfect. Keith Jackson was a treasure.
  21. No shleprock. I'm drawing similarities between the two games/teams that will display the talent gap at Texas just like the game in 1991 did. I mean FFS, did you go to Tech? Fucking dense man.
  22. Kinda what I'm exemplifying. 2022 can still be a great season. However, as you can see some of our Longhorn faithful here say "you're a bitch, pussy, etc" if you don't fall in line and say "Horns by 100". There's probably going to be a few moments on Saturday where those folks that are expecting Texas to hang with Bama say "damn, I thought we'd be better than this." We're too young, too inexperienced, and just not ready to compete against that, yet. The final score won't be close.
  23. This has the feel of the '91 Cotton Bowl to me. It's clear were just outmatched man for man. It's ok to admit that. Not saying there isn't an equation that exists that results in Texas winning. It's just very unlikely.
  24. Bud light is the worst of the 3 common light beers.
