  1. My goodness… just makes her even more desirable
  2. Along that though exercise, what if an institution like Harvard decided they care about sports?
  3. Who cares though? Is it fair? Nope. But for the schools Texas competes with, this is the pragmatic new landscape. As a society should we care that our universities focus this much about sports... debatable/probably not, but it sure is fun though.
  4. <Shrug>, overall the article seems fairly neutral, looks like the journalist writing it focuses on non-profits. Sports desk is now all The Athletics folks only.
  5. Hopefully they’re all putting in the work to recognize breaking pitches better.
  6. You're not wrong, doesn't excuse her lame response.
  7. I mean… she really can’t claim the no criminal history bit anymore can she?
  8. I mean this current incarnation hasn’t been too bad so far! 😄
  9. For fun, this is the NFL player's union report card on each team.. maybe from 2022? Heard about this from a recent Freakonomics podcast on labor and they featured the NFL, really facinating and interesting. https://nflpa.com/nfl-player-team-report-cards
  10. I'll readily admit, I have a novice's understanding of crypto. And at first it seems really cool all the good and possible things it can do as described by its evangelists say 5 years ago. It seems currently though, it's evolved to basically speculative investment asset type that borders on a ponzi scheme... I think it's kinda understandable why governments around the world are stepping in and regulating this technology.
  11. There will likely be unintended consequences from any governmental intervention. Even if one advocates for balance, cause you know people are irrational beings. Where I want to see our government (really all of us) do better is to own up and grow/learn from mistakes. Have a growth mindset.
  12. Maybe. I have a classmate from Edinburgh. Mexican American and he is alllll on the Abbott train for all this crap.
  13. Interesting question… don’t know enough to say but sure seems that way right? The lost cause/confederate sympathizers were clearly already there and very active before this. And yeah this basically gave them justification in their minds for past actions and to continue. Surly historians?
  14. To be clear I’m just drawing some parallels with current events with the book I’m reading that post Civil War South with the Republicans trying to push civil rights initially. But by the time Grant left office and Hayes took over the Republicans have absolutely lost the political will on civil rights and shifted to economic interests in the North and West. Not to mention Haye’s own election had its issues with figuring out who won all the votes just like Biden/Trump with Democrats alleging all sorts of shenanigans without proof. History really is fascinating.
  15. It’s really fascinating because nothing is new. All the stuff we bitch and worry about it’s happened before. The recalcitrance of some of living in a multi-racial democracy/society. Government civil right policies and institutions weakened over time because priorities shifted and/or lack of political will to see things through.
  16. We need something like this here in the US: https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/fallen-monument-park Also currently reading Civil War by Other means for school... #@$@ me, the war/lost cause never ended for some in the South. It's a shame how much of our population wants to ignore this reality.
  17. Silly fun. During certain shots, Swan looks a bit like Sela Ward.
  18. By now you should be well aware that people are irrational. You’re both correct. Why’s that so hard to accept?
  19. Maybe it’s getting older and being more aware, but writers have got to find a different ways for cops to be motivated besides the “we put our lives at risk every day” type of dialogue.
  20. Thanks and yeah good points—I agree! I might play aorund with this in post and see if I can fix some of it. This was one of those snap a pic before I drown in a cloud of midges pics. I was not prepared for the environment. 😂
  21. Random shots. Edinburgh Getting eaten alive by midges in the highlands back in June Copenhagen Trying to channel Swayze... Chipinque park in Monterrey
