  1. Well, we're about 25% there. Let's see the NCAA stick to its guns, not let another national power get away with a BS appeal, and drop the hammer a la USC.
  2. Hmm, well I don't remember many underclassmen starting at qb under Chip at Oregon aside from Mariota. I would guess they should look at least competent by midseason once he learns the system, unless the guy is a complete bust. I can't wrap my head around Chip completely losing his ability to coach in this short a time.
  3. Is the UCLA qb situation just a lost cause until next season? Like most college coaches, Chip's system seems dependent on getting the right fit at qb. If he just whiffed in the last recruiting class, well, he'd better hire someone purely to recruit since he seems to hate it.
  4. Some good life lessons for kids, like women are nuts and not to be trusted. Beverly sleeps with Bill, despite both of them being married, then *realizes* that it was Ben who wrote her the love letter instead and that she wants to be with him, after he got into shape and had a bunch of money.
  5. Yes, that narrative has only been brought up every 15 minutes on every sports channel since he signed this morning.
  6. I'd challenge you to find someone who publicly pulled as much bullshit as AB and didn't get as much guaranteed money voided as possible. Nobody had this much guaranteed money voided before playing a down because no one was this stupid.
  7. So maybe Brown's helmet wasn't doing that great a job of protecting his brain as he thought.
  8. NFL should call his bluff and see if he actually retires instead of wearing the new helmet.
  9. So Chandler signs a 1-year deal to be a complimentary piece to someone who isn't playing this year. Makes total sense.
  10. Philly better hope $170 million can buy Simmons some semblance of a jump shot.
  11. So it's agreed then, Uncle Dennis and Lavar Ball will have a meeting about the Lakers offering Tobias Harris the max?
  12. Twitter playing fast and loose with the details? Shocking. Kawhi Leonard will speak to the Los Angeles Lakers in the next few days and has made a personal request that only owner Jeanie Buss and Magic Johnson, the team's former president of basketball operations, be involved in the meeting, sources told ESPN's Stephen A. Smith. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/27076486/sources-kawhi-requests-magic-buss-meeting
  13. Probably should have tried to move him earlier than lose him for nothing, but still not as as bad as paying Kemba the supermax or anything close to it just to be a borderline playoff team at best for the next 5+ years. Start the attempted rebuild earlier.
  14. 3 titles in 5 years takes a lot of the sting out IMO. The injuries definitely suck but they've already had more then their fair share of luck.
  15. Bieber was so coked/boozed up he wanted to challenge Ethan Hunt to a fight, but his coked/boozed up buddies talked him out of it and he settled for Tom Cruise instead.
  16. Plenty of wiggle room for the medical staff. They "felt" playing wouldn't make the injury worse, not they "know" playing wouldn't make the injury worse. Also, original injury was supposedly to his calf, new injury is to his achilles.
  17. Unless Lue has been an idiot with his money (entirely possible), he doesn't need the job. More likely, he figures the Lakers will get desperate and give him close to what he's asking because they can't afford to piss off LeBron because he's all they've really got thanks to their brilliant ownership.
  18. Nick Wright tweeting "source" claims Kurt and Linda Rambis convinced the rest of the Lakers FO/ownership to hold off on offering Lue until today's debacle.
  19. I'm pretty sure that dire wolf/Stark symbology is no longer holding form, unless we're saying there's no "Starks" left at all given that Sansa let her own dire wolf get killed back in the first season.
  20. The Rockets received a de facto full game version of the last 2-minute report regarding last year's game 7 against Golden State. They reviewed and attached point values to all the missed/dubious calls and concluded that the totality of the calls cost them 18.6 points. NBA replies that they consider Houston's process of attaching point values to the calls bullshit (in so many words). Bitching by all teams and fans about calls against their team will continue as expected.
  21. Needs to somehow make it a referendum on Rick Barnes undervalued coaching ability for bonus points.
