  1. That might be the best long-term result for Oregon State. Making Omaha this year makes Canham look more viable for whatever ACC/SEC school gets their coach poached by Texas. Canham seems like a solid young coach and Oregon State needs to keep him and try to stave off the baseball program imploding without a P5 affiliation.
  2. Even if Oregon State somehow pulls this game out and wins again tomorrow, that play has nothing on the Arkansas missed pop-up in 2018.
  3. Was probably hedging his earlier comment of SEC sweeping the games today.
  4. Florida crushed LSU at the Clemson Super Regional you say? Solid headline quality control by ESPN.
  5. Who does Texas want at this point? Apparently, Bakich is a choker, Jay Johnson only won because of Skenes, and both Vitello and Schloss have personality issues. Who is this mythical candidate that has the correct attitude, has skins on the wall, can recruit at a high level but doesn't need them to win, and doesn't have down years?
  6. High risk-reward there, but probably necessary. WCC is pretty weak so they'd have to schedule a really strong OOC anyway to be in contention for national seeds or hosting in general. If they make it work, maybe in a few years they get a baseball only invite for a better league.
  7. For other sports, yes. They declined to join in baseball, at least for the 2025 season.
  8. If Pierce does stick around one more year, Canham could be ready to leave if Oregon State can't pull together a decent schedule as an independent.
  9. Even if Oregon State ends up making a run to Omaha this year, feels like Canham won't have enough skins on the wall to warrant a look from Texas unless they get turned down by all their top targets. Feels like the fanbase in general and donors will expect to poach a bigger name.
  10. Trump could literally die tonight/tomorrow and there's a decent chance CNN would say his death would cause either: More people to come out and vote for him even though he's dead because...reasons Everyone will rally around Don Jr/Eric/Rudy as the new nominee to continue his work
  11. No one already voting for Trump was changing their vote, regardless of outcome. A subset of the small number of people currently undecided could be off-put by idea of voting for a convicted felon. I'll gladly take that possibility. The other options of this case would do nothing but give ammunition that it was a sham or that he's being unfairly targeted.
  12. Need to have Reggie Miller on First Take tomorrow as another fuck you to Stephen A Smith, the Knicks, their fans, and their overrated "Mecca of Basketball."
  13. All I ask is that Denver/Minnesota/Dallas/OKC curb stomp Boston I'm the finals. One title this millennium and those fuckers and their fans still act like they're the class of the NBA.
  14. Gobert stumbling and traveling directly under the basket after Jokic walked away and conceded a dunk was amazing.
  15. Still more than enough time left, but Minnesota really should have cut the lead more in the 3rd quarter when Jokic had to sit with 4 fouls.
  16. New York just needs a few more injuries to balance the scales. The lingering injury to Haliburton isn't completely offset by Anunoby, Randall, Bogdanovic, and Robinson being completely out of the games. Need Brunson and either Hart or DiVencenzo to tweak something just to be safe.
  17. Pat Riley chose violence today. Butler isn't getting a contract extension, needs to keep his mouth shut when he's not on the court, and needs to play more games in-season. Herro needs to work on his nutrition and conditioning. Spo doesn't know what he's doing on offense of defense. I'm sure Butler in particular will just let those comments slide. Might as well trade him for peanuts now before he torches your franchise.
  18. Ah yes, the bubble year where everyone got 3-4 months off to rest up for the stretch run and playoffs. There's the answer, Clippers just need to ask the league to institute an in-season, quarter-year load management break.
  19. Nick Wright predicted Ishbia sells the Suns before any of the NBA expansion teams plays a single game, using Prokhorov as the example. It's going to get real ugly for Ishbia for the next few years as Durant and Beal continue to age, they can't draft anyone, and Booker starts to pout about wasting his prime.
  20. The Suns, Lakers, and Clippers would kill to be in that position. The Heat might not be willing to kill, but they'd consider it.
