Haha, fuck USC. They get a bullshit review of the review after the teams left the field for halftime, get gifted a 33-yard fg attempt, and shank it.

Nice stat padding by Williams on that last throw. Waited until 3 seconds left to throw to a guy in the middle of the field at the 20-yard line so they had no attempt at a fg.

So based on that verbal diarrhea of an answer, someone asked him about not being able to recruit well enough in-state at this point?

Sounds like the House Republicans need to hand out a consulting contract to the Ol Ball Coach, given his expertise in rotating in personnel on a basis that makes no sense.

While all that would be fun, they'll still just blame the democrats. Not sure if you've been paying attention, but this is all the fault of the Democrats. So will be them shutting down government to those voters.
I mean, yeah, the core lunatics will always blame the Democrats because that's what they're told, but at least this time around it looks like more of the middle group/undecideds isn't buying that line of bullshit, which is all that really matters in the coming election. The Republicans seems to even be doing a great job of alienating some of their "moderates." Maybe not to the point that they vote Democrat, but maybe they just don't vote in say, the presidential race during the general election.

Seems like he is saying anyone but Emmert. He's too chicken shit to endorse anyone else because his endorsement doesn't guarantee a win.
Cool, Liz Cheney for speaker.

So I'm assuming the Mike Johnson buzz is based on that latest Trump post. That being said, I have a hard time believing even a tacit or explicit Trump endorsement of anyone will create a unanimous windfall for Johnson. So back to square zero. He endorsed Jordan, right?
So are we now at either expanded powers for McHenry or nothing in terms of the House of Reps functioning moving forward? Sure looks like Trump won't stay out of this and a significant number of Republicans will switch their vote the second he takes a stance against a candidate.

24-17, Steelers. Final.
Pittsburgh gonna win the division and look like complete crap in the WC round because that's the Mike Tomlin experience at this point.

Jordan and Friends want revenge. They will not seat a Speaker that is anywhere even close to being considered "moderate", which means that we have no Speaker, or we get a Speaker with some Dem support, in which case Gaetz/Gym immediate MTV.
There are enough Jordan supporters who have publicly made sure everybody knows they support Jordan, to prevent anybody winning that they don't like.
Assuming someone wins with the help of the Dems, wouldn't those same people vote with the Dems to keep the MTV from passing?

CMC owner here too. Been holding Eli Mitchell all year for this inevitable opportunity. Although, not sure he's the guy now or if Mason will he the lead dog.
Looks like it'll be a short-term/non-existent opportunity for either guy for now. CMC apparently avoided anything serious and could play next week. Realistically though, 49ers should start giving Mason/Mitchell more touches anyway instead of running CMC into the ground.

Why do Scalise supporters have their panties in such a wad if Scalise himself voted for Jordan? I bet they end up folding after a little arm twisting.
Easier for a few randoms to do the dirty work for the higher ups. You really think McCarthy is cool with Jordan being speaker either? He can play along and say he did his part while a few of his backers voted for him instead of Jordan.

Yeah.... if they call the first one, they have to call that one.
...I'd say Big-12 refs have proven for years that just because you call something once in a blue moon *cough, holding on Oklahoma, cough*, that doesn't mean you have to call the other ones.

Low percentage play from the 1 yard line.
I mean, at least they didn't try a fade that never works unless your qb is Brady-Manning level.

Israel
in Cloak Room
22 minutes ago, troph said:It also complete absolves Hamas and the terrorism around Israel. There is no solution except extermination of the Jews and the erasure of the state of Israel that will satisfy them. There is no peace offering that will cause Hamas to abandon their terrorism.
There are three major stakeholders here - Israel, Palestinians and Hamas. War is never the solution for peace but it’s absurd to ask Israel to do nothing when the military apparatus of your neighbor is Hamas. Their tactics are next level heinous. It’s pretty hard not to say get every last one of them, whatever it takes.
one state or two state solution, real peace, it all needs to come soon but Hamas needs to be eliminated from the equation. And yes Israel must account for its actions in suppressing people and promoting apartheid. But eradicating Hamas just isn’t something they should apologize for.
No one's asking for them to stop killing Hamas/apologize for killing Hamas. The issue is that Israel appears to have jumped straight to "fuck it, if we commit genocide/borderline genocide to eliminate Hamas, tough shit for the rest of Palestine."
Dropping leaflets and giving people one day to try and get out (nevermind the fact that there's nowhere really for them to go) is laughably disingenuous. Just forgo the faux warning and shoot everything that moves at that point.
Israel has every right to defend itself from Hamas. Telling us that the only viable defense is the immediate leveling of Gaza and borderline genocide is pure bullshit.

The choices for speaker will be Donald Trump, or a compromise candidate who will offer something to get Dem votes.
In other words, the next speaker of the house will be Donald Trump.
So you're saying Boobert was ahead of the curve by 7-8 months?

Lol. All the Dems switch and support McCarthy, voting him back in.
Why would the Dems to that unless the only two choices were McCarthy or someone from the Gaetz faction? There's no reason to believe McCarthy would follow through on anything he might promise for their help.

Even more amazing that the Jets needed a last minute choke on a short fg from the Giants and a competent drive by Zach Wilson to force overtime.
