  1. This year after five minutes we muted the volume watching Bama - Auburn. Could not bear Gary Danielson’s whining again. It was still gut-wrenching but at least we didn’t have to hear Gary’s “analysis “ of every last fucking play ad nauseum. Bad for Mrs Llama’s bp. We listened to the Bama radio call on delay. Strange but 100% better than CBS. I offered to pause and restart the live video but was vetoed. Don’t care. We somehow survived.
  2. SIAP but too lazy to go back and read 50 pages. Will you guys will be watching ESPN on mute with an alternate sound source on Monday, what with Sean McDonough and Greg McElroy on the call?
  3. The Kiffin effect alive and well
  4. Beginning of 4th one team is up by 4. Final score after three lead changes, Texas by 10, Ewers takes a knee. Take the over.
  5. Fumblerooskie double reverse pass hook and lateral
  6. WTF is an “auspicious” bounce?
  7. Golding will keep PSU in the game. Count on it.
  8. At this rate, Dart will be carted off before the end of 3d quarter.
  9. Aw, they were just horsin’ around. Yeah, right. Motherfuckers.
  10. Agree. While the book was decent enough to hold your interest, after the first few episodes I quit watching the series. Too many "filler" scenes.
  11. My dream: Bama front seven bottles up M ground game and keeps M offense behind the sticks, pressures and sacks McCarthy on third downs, maybe get a pick or two. Bama O line buys time for Milroe, run bolcks enough to average 4 or 5 yds per run. Milroe protects the ball, hits a few nice deep passes, RBs keep down and distance manageable. Bama in control all day, wins 30-14. My nightmare: Michigan demon db (forgot his name) in Milroe’s grille all day, causes poor passes and hinky fumbles, turnover Milroe looks like 9/9/23. Michigan O line wallows Bama off the ball, doubles and neutralizes edge rushers. Michigan offense channels Penn State game, run after run, Corum and company stsy shesd of sticks, play action opens pass game to tight ends, ball control anaconda Wolverines. Michigan 27-10. Reality: somewhere in between, unexpected shit happens, I can only pray we have the ball last within 6. Bama wins, 19-18. Hook ‘em, my Surly brothers and sisters. It’s been a helluva year. We ain’t dead yet. If you’re checking out Bourbon Street and some dude walks up and says, “Bet you $20 I can tell you where you got your shoes,” don’t take the bet. Just say “On Bourbon Street, motherfucker! Where you think? Hook ‘em!”
  12. Merry Christmas to the users of the best board out there, a place you can always check in to air it out, get insulted or just get your life scope zeroed in, whatever the topic. If we can’t pull it off, I hope you do. Even if you don’t, you’ve rocked the football world. Every seaon is measured by how long our teams are still in play for #1 and we both still are. Never give up, give in or give out. Roll on, Crimson Tide! Hook ‘em, Horns!
  13. Late to the watch on Leave the World Behind. Liked it. Glad I saved the Spinal Tap, Fargo, Monty Python and Christopher Guest mockumentaries, Beatles Anthology series, Zeppelin and Pink Floyd Pulse live DVDs. But where’s the fucking DVD player? I can understand why fans of constant fast paced action are negging it but I enjoyed the humans adjusting on the wing plot elements. This story ain’t over.
  14. Looked for threads but found none, so posted this. Finished this one last night. To fans of TCM or geezers of a certain age like myself, Archie was a satisfying and entertaining watch. Jason Isaacs nailed Grant’s accent and overall vibe but the actress who played Dyan Cannon and a dead ringer for DC held her own. Found out some amazing details of Archie’s dad childhood and parents, who did much to traumatize him. Great attention to prriod detail throughout. “Jolly well done,” as the man himself might have quipped.
  15. One day at lunch somewhere in the mid to late 70s, I had the pleasure of standing in a wonderfully slow moving line behind (operative word) Sela Ward at Taco Casa, Tuscalosa's then favoite Tex-Mex restaurant. This was during her Apex cheerleader days at Alabama. Mmmmmm-MMH! She was one lovely, long-stemmed blossoming rose and not a bad actress
  16. Last night's game was pretty damn good. The Asian guy, a former public defender from Lafayette LA, literally named Wang (paging Rodney Dangerfield as Al Czervik), won after acing a couple of daily doubles and some tough, odd answers. He bounded across the stage and hugged his defeated opponents, a Marine and a college prof. I keep flashing on Mr. Wang interviewing the denizens of the Cajun Caliboose all of who talk like Coach O. I know Ken is highly intelligent. I just don't like it when he seems to revel in contestant's errors and baits them into betting too much on daily doubles. I wouldn't care if the host was a AI dang roe-butt.
  17. Saw that. Ruined my day. Mama Llama, Baby Llama and I watch Jeopardy most evenings. IMHO Ken Jennings is a walking, overtalking, self-referencing, narcissistic jagoff. Was hoping Mayim could return somehow. Well, just fuck.
  18. Fuck if I know, but one might speculate based on changes and the rate of change since December, 2003: 2003 - 5 apparently set and stable power conferences; champion determined by polls; no legit NIL; no portal. 2023 - Pac “10” kaput; ACC on life support; P “3” alive and well for now; next year 12-team playoff; NIL evolving daily; lubed portal orgasms. 2043 - two 40-team super conferences aligned with air hubs DFW and O’Hare; 24-team playoff; pooled NIL with nationwide player salaries + scoring, sack, pancake and turnover bounties; in-game transfers to opponents or any other team allowed. Well, shit.
  19. Tewww roit, myte! I went to law school with a brilliant guy, a Phi Beta Kappa as an undergrad, a native of the briny backwood swamps and sloughs of south Alabama, who absolutely worships to this day the final scene, voice over fade away, just before the creidts roll.
  20. Did he ever pay Tatum that $200? Paper Moon was my favorite Ryan O’Neal pic as well. I rather liked Barry Lyndon for its depiction of the period, what, mid 1700s Europe? Some nicely buxom wenches there, mate, and cap and ball pistol duels. Bet Farrah wore that ass plumb out. Surprised he made it to 82.
  21. Clark bundled up freezing and crying in the attic wearing the turban watching old super 8 movies makes Mrs. Llama cry every time.
  22. Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior. My favorite scene was inside the Road Warrior’s car speeding doen the highway, the look on the tied up skycopter geek’s face when the wonder dog, holding a stick in his teeth wired to the triggers of the sawed off shotgun, twitched when a rabbit ran by. Second favorite: when the bad guy “announcer” reach up to grab the boomerang and hig fingers were converted to vienna sausages. Followed by the feral kid’s howl of triumph! Best full speed road action film work ever.
  23. Killers of the Flower Moon. Very well done, IMHO. At least some of the thieving, murdering sonsabitches got justice in the end. Book was excellent, too. Live radio wrapup epilogue was a nice touch. Movie made me want to drive a vintage motor vehicle. Don’t need a Pierce Arrow; a Model A Ford would do.
  24. For anyone not tied to a schedule and looking for a really good Cajun meal not too far off the beaten path, I can recommend Pat’s Fisherman’s Wharf in Henderson, LA, about 20 miles from I-10 on the edge of the massive Atchafalaya Swamp between Lafayette and Baton Rouge. Here’s the view from the deck: This place is plenty good and has been for a long time. Hook ‘Em! Eat ‘em.
