  1. RGIII didn't have the MLB option. Yes, he got off to a great start until the Redskins curse caught up with him. Shit, if Murray can stay in one piece he may be the next Michael Vick.
  2. Bama Llama

    Thujone

Somewhere a man in a burnt orange pimp suit and sombrero with dingleberries, large go cup in hand, is grinning like a possum on peyote..
  3. Murray should listen to Deion Sanders, who said, "Pick up the baseball and don't look back." He appears to be listening to way too many shadow advisors, all of whom will have their hands out for a piece of his NFL signing bonus. Once or twice per game he'll get trucked like the Quinnen Williams sack in the Bama game. And every NFL defense will cover better than any defense he faced in college. Granted he's quick, fast and elusive but I don't see his bones and joints and surviving more than a couple of NFL years, if that.
  4. I would pay good money to have been in the room when this was pitched to a studio. "Okay see, J.B., ya got the Hitler death mystery thing and the Bigfoot mystery thing! Can't miss, right?!" Shades of "The Jaws of Satan," a pitiful mashup of Jaws snd The Exorcist, in which a giant, demon-possessed cobra escapes from a wrecked circus train and terrorizes the helpless citizens of rural Alabama. Starring Fritz Weaver as a priest cursed by Druids and a fakey ass seven-foot snake. What the hell. I like Sam. I'm in.
  5. I observed, sometimes wincing, every snap Jalen Hurts took while he was at Alabama. If his passing game under Riley's wing improves as much between now and game one as it did under Dan Enos last year, especially at crunch time vs. UGA, he could be a Big XII factor. There is a zen thing with him that is hard to describe. There was immediate and obvious improvement getting the ball out with accuracy last year. And then there was his slump in the latter half of 2017 when, as my dear departed father-in-law said, he couldn't hit a bull in the ass with a bass fiddle, and bailed at the first sign of pressure. In the latter part of the 2017 season, if he started rolling right and backing up, one of three results was going to happen: running loss, complete pass loss or ugly incomplete pass. To his credit, he stayed away from picks and turnovers. We shall see, saith the blind man.
  6. With those peepers the dude should just go ahead and legally change his last name to "Gaze." If he has any success at all with the Jets he'll become one-name entity unto himself simply known as "Gaze." I went to a Rice @ A&M game in like '80 or '81. Pregame, the guy in the Sammy Owl suit was strutting around the whole field on a 440 track if memory serves. About every hundred feet he would turn his butt to the Aggie crowd, bend over, flip his tail up and waggle his butt at Aggies, who would arise, enraged and yell and throw shit at him, it seemed to me with excessive zeal but then I thought, this is Aggieland. Sammy finally ended up on the Rice sideline and all 500 of us could see what pissed off the Aggies. A sign was taped to Sammy's butt, visible only when the tail was flipped up, featuring the Aggy logo with a nicely drawn small cap block "E" on each end - "EATME." Rice won the game despite trailing at the half and without making a single first down in the second half.
  7. Ridley deserved the knighthood for Alien alone. Saw this with my lovely bride in a packed theater before word was out about the chest bursting scene. There was a whooshing mass intake of breath immediately followed by 300 shrieks / groans, followed by several outright giggles as the little penis-squirrel with gnashing teeth wiggled and ran out the door. As a whole, this was art on film without gratuitous, nowadays mundane CGI. When you saw Harry Dean enter that dank space of dripping chains you knew his life expectancy was down to mere seconds. Finally, the uncoiling Alien on the escape pod shelf was sheer genius and terror. The exhausted audience was whimpering for it to just somehow end with at least one thing living other than the alien. And two made it. Hooray. Haven't missed anything by Ridley since Alien. None have been as good. Suspense increased scene by scene from start to finish. Hitchcock would be proud.
  8. All of the above may be true. But it will be well worth leaving the tailgate a little early on that steamy September evening (surely this will be the prime time game) to check out the full LSU band and Golden Girls as they assemble for a rendition of what Tiger fans call "Pregame." Timing is everything: (A) Find out where the visiting band forms up. (B) Get your ass to the point of that area which is nearest DKR. (C) Observe the band marching up in cadence, noting the nubile, agile and extremely pulchritudinous Golden Girls in the vanguard. As the entire mass marches to a halt, note carefully the glistening, pert nose of the nearest Golden Girl. (D) A drop of sweat will sliiide down and then drop through space into some tawny, divine cleavage. Believe me, it's worth doing. Then comes the classic Pregame trademark drumline intro and the four famous notes - DAHHH, DAH-DAHHHHH-DAT! and all the LSU fans howl and holla and go bat shit. After a few bars, the whole bouncing phalanx double times it into DKR. A great time will be had by all before the game even starts.
  9. Eli and Peyton have 4 rings between the two. How many other SEC QBs have won a ring? Joe Willie Namath, for one; Bart Starr for two others; Kenny Stabler for a fourth ring. That's off the top of my old gray head.
  10. This rat heuh, cher. The puyple juzzy deplete a Tyga's mojo essence, him.
  11. Only time will tell whether Monday night was a mutual watershed event like the 2010 BCS Rose Bowl. Who could have seen that coming? Texas was two Shipley catches away from tying up that game, whereas Bama was moidalized by Clemson. Bama may bounce right back. Or not. It's taken until this season, but Texas is definitely back. Based on the last three games' seive defense and the exodus of coaches and players since, the Alabama mojo has taken a big hit. Well, bad shit happens when you lose after being outplayed, outprepared and outcoached. We'll know about six or eight games into the fall if the downhill flow has been checked. I'm just going to enjoy watching the pageantry and crazy bullshit of another season and not worry. If Bama never wins another title with Nick, so be it. I wouldn't bet against it. BTW, this is a fine board and you are all sick snd twisted little monkeys.
  12. This. Aubie Parkey might have made that one.
  13. One favorite memory of the series is sleepy-eyed Tony in his robe one morning (in a rare good mood) cigar in hand descending the stairs, singing a few lines from "Comfortably Numb." Gotta love that shit. I also loved the intro and the funky Sopranos theme, "I woke up this MOWnin an I GOT MYseaf ah GUH-hun." OP, you, sir are in for a real fine journey. I'm already nostalgic for some of the running scenes. Today we'd never see Tony walking out to get the paper and wave at the Feds. A surveillance subject might wave at the Feds but no one reads "the paper" any more.
  14. Watched it at the mark you listed on the YouTube. Exhibit A to Fromm Flinching. Point well taken.
  15. Interesting analyses with merit, but I was referring to simple swing passes or stop routes, plays that could have kept the chains moving, where it appeared to me that Shemp Howard was throwing the ball, e.g., late, behind, high, low, or just "off." Credit the Horns D for he was discombobulated much of the game.
  16. Kirby was right about one thing. Georgia was outplayed, outoughed, and as explained abovevin great detail, outcorched. What I don't get is where Jake Fromm's accuracy went in four weeks. He was pinpoint accurate vs Alabama in the SECCG but in the Sugar bowl at times couldn't hit a bull in the ass with a bass fiddle. Kudos to the Horns. Hope to see you guys in NOLA again next year for the championship.
  17. Watching the video of Mack with the crystal ball, I am reminded what a chintzy-looking object the current trophy is. It looks like George Jetson's urinal.
  18. I watched every play of this game and was pulling for Texas every step of the way. Two or three of Alabama's last second wins over the years have come closer to stopping my heart but I can honestly say I have never enjoyed watching a sporting event more than the Horns vs. USC BCS champeenship in the best setting of all. One reason I enjoyed it even more was the way Reggie Bush's and Lyndale White's fathers where mugging and glad handing whopping it up on the USC sideline earlier in the day when USC had all the momentum and they were cashing Reggie's and Lyndale's checks in their heads. Plus - didn't like Pete Carroll then, don't like him now. Anyone who got to be there in person, count yourself lucky, and good on you.
  19. The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming was I believe a Mirisch Production, same as Mad, Mad etc World. The Russians one of my all time favorites with a nice supple plot and excellent cast. Alan Arkin, Carl Reiner, Jonathan Winters, and speaking of supple, the lovely Andrea Dromm as Reiner's babysitter. I relish that species of comedy, a la Sid Caesar and Ernie Kovacs. Peter Sellers, Python, SCTV (never gets the credit it deserves). Kentucky Fried Movie or maybe The Groove Tube opened with a newscaster saying, in his best Ted Knight voice, "This just in - Your popcorn's been pissed in! Film at eleven." Everyone in the thester eating popcorn immediately looked straight down. Good comedy is still good. It just seems harder to find as one gets older, but it's still there. Ya dang mo-rons.
  20. The Rose Bowl on a Thursday night didn't have an empty seat that I could see for Texas-Bama in 2010 BCS championship. Guess it's the Bama/Clemson/ESPN overkill meh factor plus exorbitant cost of getting, staying and dining and drinking there. I agree with the guy above who said Tuesday morning work time sucks big time.
  21. That giant whooshing sound you heard last night was the big football pendulum in the sky swinging back (with authority) toward Texas championship-level college football. To those on this board who had doubts about Coach Mensa, the woodwork is thataway ---> y'all can go right back into it from whence you came. This was a big shot in the arm for college football. Great game, Horns, all across the board. Kirby Smart meant every word he said and he was absolutely right. UGA asshole fans, have another piece of humble pie. UGA non-asshole fans, you know you will be in the hunt for years to come, so there's that.
  22. If he wasn't so metaphysically bizarre I'd be pissed at the Pirate for not beating these guys. At least the game would have some - what? Leachiness!
  23. U Dub please put in Sonny Sixkiller - I mean now, 45 year old Sonny Sixkiller!
  24. I wonder if Herbie has a spontaneous skeet every time OSU makes a TD. If so, he'd better pace himself. This looks like a blowout.
