  1. This. Aubie Parkey might have made that one.
  2. One favorite memory of the series is sleepy-eyed Tony in his robe one morning (in a rare good mood) cigar in hand descending the stairs, singing a few lines from "Comfortably Numb." Gotta love that shit. I also loved the intro and the funky Sopranos theme, "I woke up this MOWnin an I GOT MYseaf ah GUH-hun." OP, you, sir are in for a real fine journey. I'm already nostalgic for some of the running scenes. Today we'd never see Tony walking out to get the paper and wave at the Feds. A surveillance subject might wave at the Feds but no one reads "the paper" any more.
  3. Watched it at the mark you listed on the YouTube. Exhibit A to Fromm Flinching. Point well taken.
  4. Interesting analyses with merit, but I was referring to simple swing passes or stop routes, plays that could have kept the chains moving, where it appeared to me that Shemp Howard was throwing the ball, e.g., late, behind, high, low, or just "off." Credit the Horns D for he was discombobulated much of the game.
  5. Kirby was right about one thing. Georgia was outplayed, outoughed, and as explained abovevin great detail, outcorched. What I don't get is where Jake Fromm's accuracy went in four weeks. He was pinpoint accurate vs Alabama in the SECCG but in the Sugar bowl at times couldn't hit a bull in the ass with a bass fiddle. Kudos to the Horns. Hope to see you guys in NOLA again next year for the championship.
  6. Watching the video of Mack with the crystal ball, I am reminded what a chintzy-looking object the current trophy is. It looks like George Jetson's urinal.
  7. I watched every play of this game and was pulling for Texas every step of the way. Two or three of Alabama's last second wins over the years have come closer to stopping my heart but I can honestly say I have never enjoyed watching a sporting event more than the Horns vs. USC BCS champeenship in the best setting of all. One reason I enjoyed it even more was the way Reggie Bush's and Lyndale White's fathers where mugging and glad handing whopping it up on the USC sideline earlier in the day when USC had all the momentum and they were cashing Reggie's and Lyndale's checks in their heads. Plus - didn't like Pete Carroll then, don't like him now. Anyone who got to be there in person, count yourself lucky, and good on you.
  8. The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming was I believe a Mirisch Production, same as Mad, Mad etc World. The Russians one of my all time favorites with a nice supple plot and excellent cast. Alan Arkin, Carl Reiner, Jonathan Winters, and speaking of supple, the lovely Andrea Dromm as Reiner's babysitter. I relish that species of comedy, a la Sid Caesar and Ernie Kovacs. Peter Sellers, Python, SCTV (never gets the credit it deserves). Kentucky Fried Movie or maybe The Groove Tube opened with a newscaster saying, in his best Ted Knight voice, "This just in - Your popcorn's been pissed in! Film at eleven." Everyone in the thester eating popcorn immediately looked straight down. Good comedy is still good. It just seems harder to find as one gets older, but it's still there. Ya dang mo-rons.
  9. The Rose Bowl on a Thursday night didn't have an empty seat that I could see for Texas-Bama in 2010 BCS championship. Guess it's the Bama/Clemson/ESPN overkill meh factor plus exorbitant cost of getting, staying and dining and drinking there. I agree with the guy above who said Tuesday morning work time sucks big time.
  10. That giant whooshing sound you heard last night was the big football pendulum in the sky swinging back (with authority) toward Texas championship-level college football. To those on this board who had doubts about Coach Mensa, the woodwork is thataway ---> y'all can go right back into it from whence you came. This was a big shot in the arm for college football. Great game, Horns, all across the board. Kirby Smart meant every word he said and he was absolutely right. UGA asshole fans, have another piece of humble pie. UGA non-asshole fans, you know you will be in the hunt for years to come, so there's that.
  11. If he wasn't so metaphysically bizarre I'd be pissed at the Pirate for not beating these guys. At least the game would have some - what? Leachiness!
  12. U Dub please put in Sonny Sixkiller - I mean now, 45 year old Sonny Sixkiller!
  13. I wonder if Herbie has a spontaneous skeet every time OSU makes a TD. If so, he'd better pace himself. This looks like a blowout.
  14. This OU team and the Big XII in general remind me of playing roundball vs 1989 Loyola Marymount. If Saban hadn't taken his foot off the gas to limit OU's possessions, this could easily have been one of those last drive wins type games. And to think at 28-0 I was wondering if OU would ever make a game of it. There was too much groping and slapping allowed by the OU dbs and their OL's hands were busier than a ninth grader on a hot date. Shit, I'm just glad we'll never see that jackrabbit on meth again on a football field, or his sourpuss Aggy Papa's frowning face. Also, to be fair, #5 being dinged up made defending Murray somewhat easier for Bama. Clemson will be a very different story.
  15. What / where is that Fansville stadium?
  16. Kelly a/k/a Thermometer Face
  17. While the play by play guy was praising him Lawrence let the play clock run and Dabo hsd to burn a timeout. ND defense is pretty salty.
  18. Clemson band is annoying as shit, playing too long into the ND snap count.
  19. Countdown to Kelly red face
  20. My dear and beautiful but sardonically irreverent bride loves the "double time harch" scene in History of the World, swears she is seeing Gregory Hines's long schvantz flopping as the selected "candidates" march out. Mel Brooks has improved this old world, imho. Plus, banging Anne Bancroft.
  21. About time the taunting TD takeaway penalty was called. First time I've seen it done. I do recall George Teague pick-sixing Geno Toretta in the Sugar Bowl NC game years ago and high stepping the last 8 or 10 yards like a Rockette, but that was when celebration dances and all that shit was allowed. Didn't bother me then!
  22. Ditto. And I draw the line at boiling even movie pretend rabbits. Glenn Close is a fine actress but she didn't have the allure of prehomicidal Jessica Walter.
