  1. All of that is awesome if you are Colorado and you can't sell tickets or recruit. He's a home run hire there. Those aren't problems at Texas.
  2. My first thought was that it would be really weird for the players and coaches to have a different head coach each game. Then I noticed that one of the games has a different head coach for each half. WTF
  3. In those days, Tier 1/2 money wasn't split evenly, so Texas was making more than they would have if those games were broadcast Tier 3.
  4. I think Cincinnati, UCF, Utah, and BYU should be solid. Houston will probably be competitive once they move on from Holgorsen. But yeah, I'm not very impressed with UA, ASU, or CU football.
  5. Yeah, time will tell. I'm just saying that the odds of CU/AU/ASU/KU all being better than awful in any given year are very low. There are going to be free wins. And now that we have 16 teams, there are going to be a whole lot of questions about how divisions/pods/etc will work. If both conferences go without divisions or fail to balance the divisions, different schools within the same conference are going to have wildly different strengths of schedules. 1/4 of the schools in the B1G won't even play Ohio State or Michigan in any given year, setting up something comparable to a season in the American.
  6. Between CU, Arizona, ASU, and KU, there are just about always going to be 2 or 3. ISU has been better over the past few years, but they are also a program that has never had a 10 win season, so I think it's more likely they fall into that group than stay out of it.
  7. They had to beat Michigan to get to that game, though, and Michigan is 2. I'm only down on them because they lost Duggan.
  8. With the expanded playoff, if they finish 3rd, they probably get in. Sometimes that's going to be easier than finishing 2nd in the Big 12, and sometimes it's going to be harder. Both leagues have some free wins now, but you get a little bit more opportunity to draw them on the schedule in the Big 10.
  9. Finally, someone wiling to tell the damned truth.
  10. Iowa is going to have a schedule that is favorable to win 9 games or so just about every year. I don't know what they have done in the past that would make that sort of outcome undesirable to their fans.
  11. Well, you have to think long-term to see the big picture. After those 7 years are up, they get to be part of the new media deal with all of the schools not valuable enough to join the SEC, B1G and Big 12.
  12. The Big 12 academic profile has actually improved quite a bit with the recent additions. I think the Mormon and Baptist schools are a bigger hurdle for them than academic performance.
  13. Their week 1 home game against East Carolina might be the most difficult of their first 9.
  14. I just don't think schools that don't care enough to offer athletic scholarships will suddenly start caring enough to put together lavish NIL deals for their athletes.
  15. I really don't see why you are assigning as many teams from the Big 10 as the SEC. The conferences aren't remotely equal, outside of revenue.
