  1. Yeah, TCU has a much more successful playoff than OU has ever had, and that's never stopped OU from getting selected damn near every year.
  2. Their second loss was the bowl game, though.
  3. Well, it happened to Baylor (and TCU if you want to call that a championship), but it's not going to happen to Texas or Oklahoma.
  4. Texas absolutely gets in with 1 loss.
  5. I think the biggest difference today is that paying players is legal, so everyone else is doing it, too. It's not the advantage that it used to be. More power to them if they have enough money to make it work, though.
  6. How well are their donors going to be able to cover both their media rights and their players?
  7. Hopefully these schools at least get a full share of the buyout money when FSU, Clempson, and UNC leave.
  8. I can't stand Nebraska, either, but the teams they fielded in the early 90s would have won the Big 10, too. I don't know if the Big 10 would have allowed them to build those teams with partial qualifiers, though.
  9. The AAC has a better contract and is more likely to sneak a team into the playoffs than the Mountain West.
  10. The AAC should make a pitch to WSU and OSU.
  11. Colorado, ASU, and Cincinnati are also AAU schools.
  12. I think it's the longest bowl drought of all P5 schools.
  13. He played his senior year at K-State.
  14. Extra point might be their last opportunity to lose this one in regulation.
  15. Both of these teams are putting Amber Heard to shame.
  16. This one feels over. Minnesota needs a defensive touchdown.
  17. Didn't the receiver throw that pass?
  18. I'll start viewing Texas as a playoff team when they beat Alabama. Lose that game, and running the table in the Big 12 is pretty daunting.
  19. Conferences don't get the benefit of the doubt, period. Programs do. In your scenario, if it's Ohio State, Michigan, Clemson, and FSU, I tend to believe that Michigan gets left out. The other three programs have much more recent national championships, and Michigan's schedule would make Bill Snyder blush.
  20. It makes a huge difference that the player can't talk to schools until he enters the portal. It's a big risk to leave a safe situation with playing time and exposure to see who bites in the portal.
  21. Yeah. Most of the players who are going to make a difference are transferring from the haves to the have nots for playing time. NIL has nothing on NFL dreams.
  22. Spencer Sanders didn't leave to go be a backup. He left because he didn't like Gundy and he didn't get the interest he thought he would, so he settled for being a backup. If anything, he's a cautionary tale to others. There are also transfers leaving big time programs to start at mid-level schools.
  23. Yeah, I just don't see how the left behinds will be able to cope with the rich blue blood schools getting all of the best players. That's going to be completely different to how college football has always worked.
