  1. This deal is probably going to be awful enough that the door will be open for the Mountain West to take a streaming deal with Apple/Amazon and poach someone from the Pac 4 in a few years.
  2. Cal, Stanford, Oregon State, and Washington State will, anyway.
  3. The meme is true, but I'd say it's less of a left/right thing and more that you can only effectively boycott a product that you are currently a consumer of.
  4. I'm not saying you're wrong, but that chart is meaningless if it's not adjusted for age. Rural towns are filled with old people.
  5. Just about every rural community has a serious brain drain problem created by a complete lack of opportunity for any young person with a college education. Kids who get a degree never come back, and the kids who stay decide they like meth. Some small communities are able to bring in ag industry and keep property values afloat, which is actually great for the population that isn't cut out for college and also attracts immigrants. It's still an uphill battle for them, though.
  6. ChatGPT is walking it back just like Aldean.
  7. (Verse 1) Out here in the heartland, where the dust meets the dawn, There's a town that's seen its share of troubles, but we carry on. Now, I'm watchin' TV, seein' angry faces fight, Protests and riots, tearin' through the night. (Pre-Chorus) But hey, let me tell ya, there's somethin' you should know, We got a different way, and it's time to let it show. (Chorus) Yeah, angry souls, listen close and clear, You won't find a battleground in our small town here. We stand tough, no fear to be found, In the heart of America, we're standin' our ground. (Verse 2) We got no city lights, just stars up in the sky, And we may be laid-back, but don't take it as a lie. Our strength lies in unity, the ties that bind, We protect what's ours, with hearts strong and kind. (Pre-Chorus) I'm speakin' up, gonna make my voice ring loud, It's time to rise together, show 'em what we're all about. (Chorus) Yeah, angry souls, listen close and clear, You won't find a battleground in our small town here. We stand tough, no fear to be found, In the heart of America, we're standin' our ground. (Bridge) We're a family, neighbors hand in hand, With shotguns and rifles, we protect this sacred land. If you come with violence, tryin' to tear us apart, You'll meet resistance, the strength within our hearts. (Verse 3) We believe in freedom, and we'll fight for what's right, But we won't let anger lead us down a path of endless night. So let's come together, in peace and harmony, In our small town, love's the remedy. (Chorus) Yeah, angry souls, listen close and clear, You won't find a battleground in our small town here. We stand tough, no fear to be found, In the heart of America, we're standin' our ground. (Outro) In this small town, love abounds, Angry protests, don't you dare come around. I still haven't heard this crappy song yet, so no idea if ChatGPT did it better.
  8. Three of those teams were the Buffalo Bills.
  9. TCU is the reason the Big 12 even started having a championship game with 10 teams, so I don't feel even a little bit bad for them. Their regular season was good enough to get them into the playoffs, and hats off to them for that, but they did not win the conference because they couldn't win the championship game.
  10. She only revealed that these characters were in a homosexual relationship 4 years ago, though...
  11. She's probably there to make sure they include at least one steamy sex scene between Dumbledore and Grindelwald.
  12. Several years ago, I went from 250 to 180 over the course of about 6 months. I logged the calories in everything I ate, holding myself to 1500 per day, and running for an hour every other day. It takes a couple of really hard weeks to get used to 1500 calories. The trick for me was logging all of my meals at the beginning of the day and then putting away the leftovers before I started eating. Also drinking nothing but water, unsweetened tea, and black coffee. I still drank about 3 beers 1 day per week, but the food intake was very low that day to compensate. For the running, I was able to get around 10 miles per week starting out, and that was absolutely brutal. I was logging closer to 30 miles per week by the time I was down to 180 and could run a half marathon without needing to start walking, not even feeling like I might die. It was truly an amazing experience. Going to keep running as long as my knees will let me, because it absolutely puts me in a better state of mind. Not saying that everyone can do it, because some can't. And there's no shame in weighing too much. It's only natural in the culture we live in. But most people never really try to lose weight. I would have said that I had tried before I actually went out and did it, but I would have been lying to myself. Everyone owes it to themselves to really, honest to God, give it a try, because if you can do it without hurting yourself, you will get results, and those results are life changing.
  13. The difference is bigger if you only eat the stump, like a gentleman would.
  14. The win at ISU is still pretty nice. Beating them at home is sort of ho-hum.
  15. Looks like she got bit by one of those Last of Us zombies, but she's immune.
  16. I don't know that the recruit's family's ability to watch is as much of an argument as it used to be. Most high school seniors have millennials for parents, and that generation largely doesn't have cable tv, anyway. It would actually be less burdensome for them to have the games on something like Amazon Prime. It's still a big deal for the overall exposure for the school, though, since the rest of college football is on ESPN and Fox.
  17. I think the PAC should play hardball. Tell ESPN they can overpay for everything or get nothing and watch a whole lot of west coast households not need cable anymore. It probably doesn't work, but their conference probably ends up folding if they end up streaming most of their content, anyway.
  18. I'd say that the ACC's problem is mostly that they were stupid enough to lock in a tv contract for 20 years.
  19. I think having BYU actually makes Utah more valuable to the Big 12. At least BYU vs Utah is a game I'd probably watch if the game had actual stakes. Don't think I'd be as apt to tune in for a September matchup of Big 12 BYU vs Mountain West Utah. Not sure exactly what Colorado brings to the table, other than maybe replacing Kansas as the doormat.
  20. Utah's self worth might be over-inflated, but they are still twice as valuable as CU.
  21. Seems about right. Just needs Nikki Haley to come along and sweep the poop under the table with a broom.
  22. The republicans will have primary debates. Not like any smart people are going to be there to make them look bad.
  23. How often does Miami fill their stadium?
