  1. The Kansas constitution protects abortion in exactly the same way that the US constitution used to. There hasn't been an amendment passed to explicitly say that abortion is protected, and abortion isn't mentioned specifically. We are just fortunate enough to have judges who believe in medical privacy. Right now 6 out of 7 of our supreme court judges ruled that abortion was protected, but we also have the ability to vote judges out, so with a republican governor and a bad election for our judges, that ruling could potentially turn on a dime. Judges seem to never get voted out, though.
  2. It's honestly sort of bittersweet for me, because in my mind most of these people were voting for assholes year in, year out, because they had some sort of brain imbalance that made them a single issue abortion voter. Like "yeah, you think it's murder, I disagree, whatever, but at least murder is wrong so I can see where you are coming from." But clearly that isn't the case for at least half of these people, so they must be voting for nothing but racism and homophobia instead, and I can't even see the bad logic required to understand that vote.
  3. Yeah, it's about a 23 point difference right now and I think it ends up around 60/40. It appears the republicans just might have fucked themselves with their supreme court.
  4. Yeah, it's looking like it might be pretty close.
  5. Oh, there is a giant "vote yes" sign out in front of the church that was my polling place with a silhouette of a mother holding a baby, so I think anyone with half a brain could figure out they should vote no.
  6. It used to stand for Nowledge. These days it stands for Nothing.
  7. Not the worst 1st world country yet. https://apnews.com/article/elections-donald-trump-dallas-marjorie-taylor-greene-6834776bcc1f65800a615b0745302be5
  8. So he isn't perfect. At least he was able to critically think about what happened to him and make a change. It's not like that asshole in Arizona who had his home and family threatened by dumbasses, but would still vote Trump again in 2024.
  9. Some woke fucking judge would make him pay child support, though.
  10. I've been looking at Malaysia and the Philippines. Europe seems like a pipe dream.
  11. I wouldn't say his immigration policy has been all that successful.
  12. She voted no. You have to open the image to see the first 6 names.
  13. Yeah, we're not even the worst 1st world country. Hungary is a real shithole.
  14. I don't think anyone is saying they would like to kick Alabama out of the union. Just that if Alabamans decide they want to leave, it's not worth fighting a war to keep them because we'd all be better off without them.
  15. In both elections, multiple close states would have needed to go the other way.
  16. You keep saying Trump almost won, but the election wasn't really all that close.
  17. You know, sometimes (probably most of the time) there is something to be said for keeping answers as short as possible and otherwise not talking.
  18. I think a Trump conviction would be way too much to ask for, but he should face trial, anyway. It's going to be all but impossible to get a jury of 12 people who didn't vote for Trump, and nobody who voted for him is going to be a fair juror.
  19. She's probably the most conservative member of Congress.
  20. Texas doesn't go on the road to play non-P5 schools. P5 programs with smaller athletic budgets do. And networks really aren't interested in carrying Oklahoma State vs Louisiana Lafayette any more than they would be interested in carrying a game against an FCS school. It's a ratings stinker regardless.
  21. The FCS games are less about the easy wins and more about not having to schedule a home and home. The extra home game every year makes more money than scheduling North Texas over Missouri State would.
  22. The original Big 12 was the best when Nebraska, Colorado, and Kansas State were all consistently winning 10 games. That was pretty short-lived, though. OSU and Baylor stopped being doormats and the south was a whole lot better than the north by the end of things.
  23. I think Texas probably has a 7-6 type year. Incremental improvement and a bowl game.
