  1. I’m generally doing sets of 15. A set in the morning and two in the evening for the most part. 15 is still tough for me but a lot more doable than 2 weeks ago. Also catching up to get back on pace.
  2. One of my kids goes to Pine Cove and loves it. It’s very popular among his peers at school and quite a few other families we know. It’s a Christian deal and we aren’t Christian but the boy has a good time anyway and always comes home with new friends. We chalk the Bible study up as a lesson in having an open mind and being willing to learn about others beliefs. From what I gather they aren’t too obnoxious about it. Other than that it’s your typical summer camp with lots of lake swimming and all kinds of outdoor activities. One campus near Tyler and another near Columbus. https://www.pinecove.com/summer-camps/overnight-youth-camps/
  3. Not a fucking chance. An airplane that starts its day 2 hours late is going to finish it’s day tonight pretty close to the same 2 hours late. The days of making it up in the air or having airplanes scheduled to sit at the gate for several hours to be able to absorb things like this are long gone. Schedules are built tight, generally speaking. They will swap a some airplanes around to get some flights to run on time, but generally the whole system will be jacked up until tomorrow.
  4. I’m well past the stage of over-thinking games and speculating about how a win by some other team would hypothetically and indirectly affect Texas. Texas just needs to worry about Texas. I have no hate toward TCU. They aren’t a major rival. I know a few TCU grads and they are good people. Other people have the opposite experience, whatever. The only teams I really hate are the Aggies, Sooners, and Baylor. Fuck all 3 of those every time all the time. Every other Big 12 team is… meh, whatever. Seeing TCU win wouldn’t bother me at all. Seeing Georgia lose would make me smile. I’d enjoy hearing the all the inbred SEC homers bitching about it afterward. Easy choice for me, no need to involve a bunch of “what-abouts” related to how it all affects Texas. I just look at this game on its own. Go Frogs. Doubt they win though.
  5. *spit roasting Like a pig at a bbq.
  6. Yeah WTF on 20 a minute or doing them for 20 minutes straight. Granted I go a little slow but 10 proper burpees with the push-up in the middle takes me almost a full minute. And 10 is about my max for a set. I could do 20 if my life depended on it but not much more. There is zero chance I could burpee nonstop for more than 2 or 3 minutes straight. For straight calorie burn I think 20 minutes spent in the gym would be way better than burpees. Simply because I’d spend most of the last 18 minutes or so unable to do anything from the exhaustion. To me it’s like sprinting. Good for you in small doses.
  7. Alll the bullshit that happened over the last few weeks and that’s your bitch? On a flight that left a couple minutes early and landed even earlier, and your luggage made it but you had to find it at a different carousel. That’s the hill you die on? Generally the airline doesn’t pick the carousel or have any say so about it. They’re just telling you whatever carousel the city told them they’d use for that flight. They load it on a belt and the city airport employees route the belts to whatever carousel they want it to go too. If the city changes carousels they may or may not tell the airline.

Seems odd to debate individual points that aren’t believable in a show that is basically a constant stream of unbelievable events since episode 1. This show is nothing more than some outstanding cinematography in a beautiful area with a soap opera script seemingly written by and for 14 year old boys who wish they were cowboys. It was fun fun to watch for a while but people take it way too serious.
  9. Non Covid sinus infection, head cold, or whatever is kicking my ass right now. Taking a couple days off and will catch up later. I’d like to generally stay ahead of the average needed so I have a bigger bank of days available when I inevitably hurt something later in the year.
  10. My OCD is triggered and I have a hard time believing that even SA’s mom would tolerate a heaven who puts their suitcase on the fucking floor. There has to be a suitcase rack or ottoman in that room.
  11. Last time I tried that we fell out.
  12. The reason you didn’t know who he was is because you are old. Every teenager knows who these guys are and a shocking number of them are not disturbed by their antics.
  13. This is not completely accurate. He did not spend 32 years in IT. He was in IT for several years earlier in his career, back in the early 2000s. The better part of the last 20 years he’s been in other corporate positions, but not specifically IT. That’s not to say he shouldn’t get any blame, but certainly not as much as Gary.
  14. I’ve flown with the CA on that flight several times. Great guy, who all parties agreed did everything right that day. He says he still thinks about it all the time. He wasn’t shy about discussing it and what he learned from it and how it affects his mindset in all tasks this many years later.
  15. I started by doing 10 before I went to bed and then 2 separate sets of 10 the next morning. I like that routine and probably going to mainly keep it that way.
  16. Second time I’ve seen this today, first was from the OP when he posted it on FB. He’s a solid guy and the most senior pilot I’ve ever flown with here. He’s seen some shit and is one of the rare few left around here who knew Herb from the old days. It’s dead-on accurate as far as I can see. GK was great at making money but all this fuckery began on his watch. Too soon to tell if Bob can unfuck it all or not, he hasn’t been in charge long enough to know yet.
  17. They were on pace to net nearly a billon dollars this year. This will eat into that some but it’ll still be a very profitable year. And over 10 billion in the bank with relatively little debt. As mentioned above, the outspoken passengers will move their business, and rightly so, but the majority of the flying public will keep on keeping on like they always have. Just a complete failure, years in the making, and very predictable. They took risks operating this place like it’s still Herb’s little airline bouncing around Texas and it worked out fine for so long until one winter day when it didn’t. The infrastructure hasn’t kept up with the growth. It’s embarrassing.
  18. Fucking embarrassing. That’s about all I got.
  19. I think you’re inferring a little much there. I’m a 50 year old dude who rides a bike a couple times a week and lifts just enough dumbbells in hotel gyms to slow the beer gut growth. The reason I split it up isn’t for a warm-up, it’s because I can’t do 30 all at once.
  20. I don’t currently do them everyday but when I do, it’s 3 sets of 10 or 2 sets of 15. Sometimes I’ll do the first two sets before whatever real workout I’m doing and the third set later. I don’t think I’d go from couch potato to 30 a day, but if you’re already doing them in addition to a more robust workout of some sort it shouldn’t be too much shock to move from say 3 days a week to 6.
  21. I ended up doing something similar with one section of it. Basic brisket rub with some oil, smoked at 225 until the internal temp was about 125°. Set it in a foil tent to cool while I cranked the heat up on the gas grill. Then seared all four sides on a 500° cast iron skillet on the gas grill. That got it to medium rare with a decent crust on the outside. It was delicious, moist, and gone too quick to take pics. Still have a couple more sections, probably going to chicken fry them for Christmas day. I don’t really hunt, but it was my kids first deer.
  22. I’m in. I’d like to ride my bike 5000 miles in a year, which isn’t that much but requires consistency. But the burpees goal agrees with my travel schedule a lot better. We should keep this thread as a log of running totals.
  23. I run my pump at 1200 rpm 24/7, except when it cranks up higher for the cleaner. Will that be enough in a hard freeze or should I ramp it up to something higher.
  24. I used to live in that old rundown apartment complex behind Chuy’s right next to Barton Place. Similar stories as you but more of the low-budget version… both the apartment and the women that came over after drinks. That place was a dump but also a goldmine in its own way back when Tinder was just getting going.
  25. I saw that last night. Apparently it's the electric version of the Hilux and intended to be sold in Asia and the Middle East.
