  1. That's how Covid originated.
  2. This. I have an LX470. I would have preferred to buy a LC but this was the deal I found when the timing was right. Other than standard AHC, the LX differences are mostly trim. Start here: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/100-series-faq.30754/ I love the Active Height Control but lots of folks replace it with conventional. It gives you about a 2 inch lift or a 2 inch lowering at the touch of a button and it rides like a dream on the road. For a long time the conventional wisdom said when AHC started acting up it was time to just rip it out. But unless the lines are rusted out it's a pretty simple hydraulic system. More and more guys are sticking with it now. Mine been all over the backroads of Big Bend and some fairly chunky spots in Moab. IH8Mud.com is the big Cruiser forum and is a wealth of knowledge. You'll find tons of guys on there that use the AHC to its fullest ability right next to cruisers with a traditional lift in places like Moab and the big passes and trails in Colorado. If your primary goal is off-road then you should look for an 80 series. Solid axle, many have all 3 diffs lockable. They are absolute beasts off-road. But the last one was made in 1997 and while you might get 400k out of the engine and the frame, thats a lot of age on all the other parts. The 100 series were made from 1998 to 2007. If you aren't wheeling it really hardcore in places like the Rubicon, it will go everywhere off-road you need it to and behave much better on the road. It doesn't have the charactoer of an 80 series, but it's a solid vehicle. My only real complaint is that the the headlights are straight up awful. I just replaced mine with HID projectors and wish I'd done it sooner. It was a pain in the ass but at least I can see great at night now, the stock lights are just terrible. Mines a 2000 and is my daily driver. I'm going to drive it until one of my kids takes it and then I'm planning to get a new longbed Tacoma after the next re-design in a couple years. If you want good mileage, high towing ability, or to go fast, these are not the vehicles for you.
  3. Hey anyone wanna turn Bijan's thread into a thread about Reggie Bush?
  4. In 2021 a crack commando football coach was sent to prison by a military court for a crime he didn't commit. This man promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Tampa underground...
  5. Anyone have a favorite specific primitive campsite in Big Bend Ranch State Park? Only looking at the sites that are way off the paved road. The kind of place you need 4WD to get to and won't see another human being for a couple days. Not looking for condos, AirBnbs, or group campsites. GF and I are trying to plan a quick trip out there next week. BBRSP is our preference so we can have a campfire each night. Been to both parks quite a few times and know the area well. Last time we were out there we camped at site La Mota 1. It fit the bill, good views, isolated, about 2 hours from the pavement. It's available when we want to go next week but if anyone else has a favorite spot out there I'd like to hear about it. Rincon, Fresno Canyon, and all the Papalote sites are also available.
  6. I remember when spring break 2020 was only going to be extended by a week or so. That bullshit is coming to AISD again I bet. They will ease us it one step at a time but it’s coming. All over a variant that is weaker than all the others before it.
  7. One tall immature childish asshole. I get the frustration, my kids have broken shit, wrecked a car, etc... and they've heard me drop more than a few key-placed f-bombs. But that was a grade A titty-baby temper tantrum like you'd expect from a toddler. Way to teach your kids how to react to a problem Dad.
  8. Not at all. Coffee breath and morning breath are not the same thing. Morning brushing is to clear out the nasty shit that grew overnight and it does that even if you chase it with coffee.
  9. If you’ve come this far you already want it. You’re going to get it anyway and it’ll cost $95k next year.
  10. Front 3 look irritated, but blondie in the back is like, "Hell yeah perv dude, how you doin'?"
  11. Fans from every team in the country love to wax on and on about how the refs all hate them. We're as bad as anyone else when it comes to that.
  12. The fact that they think this kind of faggotry is worthy of being called Hell Week is another reason.
  13. You mentioned that the job would be stressful. Just pointing out that it's way less stressful than GA would be for me.
  14. You guys are are worse than a bunch of women when it comes to holding grudges. That Rose Bowl deal went our way and it was proven to be the right decision nearly 20 years ago and you guys are still cackling about it. He's an odd cat for sure, but.. meh.
  15. I get it, but it beats working for a living. For the money that can be made working 3 days a week and 90% of that "work" tine is spent shooting the shit with the guy next to you... I still say it can't be beat. The bad days suck for sure but the best part of this job is how seldom they make me do it and never ever having to take the work home or catch up on it after a vacation. Knock out a 3-day out and then forget you have a job for 4 days. Or stack 2 together and then take a week off without using vacation. I think I worked about 120 days this year. I haven't flown GA in a while but it would be more stressful that a typical day at work for me. Monotonous is what'd I'd call most of the work days. My son wants me to get checked out in something so he can see what it's all about and I'm sure I'll make a complete idiot out of myself in a GA plane for the first time in 17 years.
  16. I eat brisket once every couple of months and a steak about as often. Can’t remember the last time I ate a burger. Option 3 wouldn’t be too hard to get used to. I’d miss really good brisket but I’d give it up way easier than everything else.
  17. It’s at the point now that I was pretty excited just to have the gravel base put in in prep for the decking. That gave me a place to park the smoker without standing in a mud pit. It’s a baby step but it’s something.
  18. I’m not worried about it. It’s not like it’s ever 80+ degrees and suitable swimming weather in December.
  19. Most safes at this price point aren't all that secure if someone is willing to take an angle grinder and a big crow bar to it. I don't worry so much about that. I just want to keep my kids from them, have quick access for myself, and have them secure enough that your average quick burglary job isn't going to be able to get them quickly.
  20. Yeah mine is moving pretty slow to but at least they’re pretty good about contacting me and returning my phone calls when I ask about the schedule. They told me these delays would be here from the start. I still have a bare gunite pool with lime stone coping installed around it and a patio of gravel base waiting for the deck to be poured. Its mentioned upthread, but I went with Cody here in South Austin, only because they were the only ones that got back to me and we’re willing to build a pool for less than $100,000. No major snafus yet, other than the delays which they owned from the start.
  21. Do you have a local minor-league or major-league baseball team nearby? There might be someone in their organization that can help you. Years ago the Oak Hill baseball fields got heavily damaged by flooding of the creek behind them and the Round Rock Express brought their landscape people and equipment out and completely redid every field that was damaged. I’m pretty sure someone in our league had friends in high places there. Erin Hogan‘s kid used to play there and he’s pretty friendly with the Ryan family. Not sure if that was the connection or not. An email to the right person might get some sympathy by a local team wanting to give back to their sport. As far as fence banners go, we did that for my sons high school team. Not baseball, different sport. The going rate was $200 per season for a sign on one side of the fence or $400 for a sign on both sides of the fence. We sold quite a few and felt like we had under charged. It also included a nice post on Instagram from the booster club thanking that business for their support and a picture of the sign. BBQ cook offs can generate a little cash too.
  22. If that safe is returnable you can get a similar sized 12-gun Winchester safe from Tractor Supply right now with adjustable height shelves for $399. Or $599 for the 26 gun. I got one not long ago and it seemed a much better deal than what I was seeing at Cabelas or Academy. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/catalog/gun-safes
  23. There was also a Goldmine at Highland Mall. Next to Kay-Bee Toys and across from a shoe store. I frequented the one at Northcross more often until Einsteins opened in the strip center across the street. TIlt at Northcross was after the renovation and was on the opposite side of the ice rink. Goldmine was next to the movie theater, pre-Tilt.
  24. Gore Windstopper is a great fabric. Thinner and lighter than fleece. Has a small membrane in it that stops the wind while still being breathable. It's the little brother of Gore-Tex and is windproof but not waterproof. I've had a couple jackets made from it over the years and like them a lot. They typically have a good cut for cycling, fairly snug with a longer back.
  25. If I had to pick people from my past who might've become hitmen, the top 137 guesses would be Marines.
