In my old neighborhood we live oaks between sidewalk and curb. Grass and leaves, et al... were handled by landscape crew through HOA. My yard had bur oaks\red oaks\pin oaks(?) with acorns the size of golf balls as were most of the trees in peoples front yards. The HOA crew was notorious about just blowing leaves into peoples yards. I typically mowed over the live oak stuff. However, when the neighborhood trees started leafing, nothing got done until there was no leaves in any trees within a 2 block radius of my house. It seemed like every leafed leaf ended up in my yard. I had a leaf blower\mulcher combination from WORX. Each year, over my Christmas vacation, I would put aside 2 days to pick up acorns and to blow leaves and mulch that shit up.
Now, I live in a neighborhood across the road from there. I have two live oaks that are about 6 years old which is about the age of all the houses on my cul-de-sac. So, leaves aren't that big of a deal anymore I do get triggered when I get the occasional broad leaf in the yard from neighbors trees but nothing like what I used to deal with.
These days, when I go to visit my daughters in the old 'hood, I laugh at all the leaves in everyone's yard and mutter 'fuck you trees'...
