  1. Eat it, you maroon freaks.
  2. Congratulations, you are about to embark on a most incredible adventure. I always like to impart this bit of wisdom on new expectant Dads... Those first few months when you are dealing with diapers and night feedings and the toll it takes on your sanity, that is the easy part... it's a guarantee that wherever you put the kid, they are not going any where. You know exactly where they are at and what they are up to...
  3. Nothing really to add here. Agree that if we have a healthy Disu, Rice, and Carr in those last 10 minutes yesterday and it goes like we think it should have, it would be pretty much unanimous about giving him the job. Keeping RT is one thing but from my observation, it is just as important to keep this staff in tact if we are to retain him. There was a lot of coaching by committee going on that I don't typically see going on with regard to other teams. At least from my 10,000 foot view. I am in the skeptic camp but I hope he tears it up here.
  4. Absolutely, it was an amazing eye-opener of an experience. Honestly, if the trip could have been broken up to where I could have gotten a night in London to and from it would have been a bit better. As it were though, there was about an hour or two lay over on the way and basically no lay over on the way back. So, back to back 9 to 10 hour flights.
  5. Through work, I have spent a week in Bolivia and 2 weeks in India. Bolivia...Spent a couple of days in San Jose and then on to Cochabamba. If you are a meat eater, you will be fine there. Great people, laid back feel even in the city. Cochabamba has a Christ Redeemer statue of its own. So, it is very catholic oriented. It is also at altitude. Best coffee and soda water too. Just stay away from anything that could touch water. Brought back some nice leather purses and silver jewelry for my girls. I would recommend it, at least a trip to Cochabamba. It's been a bit since I've been down there though. The hotel we stayed at in San Jose was cool but the city is the place for a lot of protests. There was one when we were there. India, was a pain to get to and to get home from. It was a great experience but would not care to go back. Only way I would go back if it would be to go visit the northern Part. Stayed in Bangalore which is down south. Abject poverty. Congested. Cows walking down the streets. Rode in an auto (green and yellow open air vehicle) at lunch one day. I think I ended up with a bit of carbon monoxide poisoning. Good look just trying to walk across even the most simple side street. Stayed in a hotel that catered to Western Tastes. Had a few different restaurants. Steak was on the menu at one spot, but they were always 'out'. Seafood, lamb, and chicken were main sources of protein if you are meat eater. Outstanding breakfast buffet though. Attendants would make one-offs for you upon request, mostly eggs and omelets. During the day, I ate at the cafeteria on the job site and I managed okay. The food on the airlines was way worse on me. Didn't really see much and didn't get out of town much even on the one free weekend we had. Watched a lot of IPL Cricket on tv though. Best way to sum it up is from a line Jon Hamm had in Million Dollar Arm, when asked about his trip to India, he replies... You walk down the street and you smell the most amazing things and then about a block later, you smell the worst of things.
  6. You shouldn't hang me on a hook, Johnny. My father hung me on a hook once, Once!
  7. I've thought about this a bit more. Lot's of folks described him as charismatic and that probably helped bring people in. However, like Epstein and Maxwell, I think he knew how to pick out people to join him that would be willing to do anything he asked. Maybe that is stating that obvious. I watched the Netflix thing this past weekend. Kathy Schroeder is still certifiable. The ATF had leased space in the same building my wife worked in during this time. One day, a few weeks into the siege, I was going with my wife back to her office. We walked into the lobby and hit the up button at the elevator and a few seconds later, the doors open and standing in the back of the elevator is Kathy Schroeder in chains surrounded by federal agents,. We gave them a wide berth as they exited the elevator and building. When the compound went up on April 19th, my wife could see the smoke and flames from her office on the top floor of that same building. It was not lost on me that folks from the ATF probably had the same vantage point.
  8. I wouldn't doubt they crossed paths at the very least.
  9. Hell yeah. Horns win! 3-2.
  10. Previous shutout was against Baylor in 1980. 16-0.
  11. I have ancestors that lived in Gatesville beginning around the 1870s-1880s. A great great grandfather helped build a church there at least that's what I've been told.
  12. Like I mentioned a while back, while I was at the laundromat, one guy just came up and started talking to me. Can't remember how religious it was in nature but it was probably no different than how Christian denominations and their offshoots handle the growing of their flocks.
  13. DQ in Kyle always has a line of cars out to the road. Would love to see what they make during a week in the summer.
  14. Hope the second chick had the decency to go back and remove that scooter from the middle of the sidewalk.
  15. James Hong is in his mid-90's and still working. More from Johnny... Auntie Em, Uncle Henry, Toto! It's a twister! It's a twister!
  16. I caught the end of the last 'Rewind with Rodney Terry' hosted by Galindo. Galindo was effusive with praise for Terry and told Terry he deserved to be the next head basketball coach at Texas and basically it would be a shame if it did not happen. So, relax. Terry won't be coming back.
  17. Connie Nielsen(Gladiator) and Saffron Burrows(Deep Blue Sea) for me.
  18. What he did to Hamlet, we are now doing to Poland.
  19. More Austin weather shit.. It was either '97 or '98 when it got up to 98 or 99 in February and it snowed some time after that. I remember being in Waco in '87. I spent Saturday moving in to a new apartment on April 1st and remember seeing chicks all around the pool grabbing some rays. Next day I get up and call my grandparents house at Battle Lake (Mart... greater Waco) to see what time Sunday dinner was. My uncle answers the phone, I ask what is everyone doing... he replies, "We're watching it snow..." This kinda shit like currently may not be seasonally 'correct' but it does get sideways from time to time. In general though, I do agree that the extremes are starting to get common place. We went years without having serious winter weather events (from what I can recall) and now we are getting at least 1-2 a year lately.
  20. +1
  21. Tongue in cheek response(kinda sorta)... There is an amusement park complex nearby whose parent company happens to own one of them thar corporate media outlets.
  22. I remember back in the old days when CBS used to run movies after the local nightly news. They would have themes for the movies that would show during a given week. One week it was beach movies and they showed 'A Swinging Summer' her first credited movie appearance perhaps. I was a whippersnapper but I became a fan for life that night. She is indeed an All-Timer.
  23. Fucked around and found out today. Wordle 605 X/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜⬜🟩⬜ ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩
  24. Good points... Agree on the AFC competition back in the 80s up to 2000 - NFC was 16-4 from 81 - 2000. But you still have to play the game... I also agree whole heartedly on Mahomes play making ability. Montana had the ability to stay clean in the pocket because he could move. He could have played PG at the College Level. Mahomes has some other worldly vision and knack to make plays out of nothing.
  25. Nope. Montana had Rice for 2 championships. In fact during the 80's 49ers had a total of 5 players that were on all 4 championship teams. Contrasting that with Pittsburgh teams of the 70s that had like 30 dudes with 4 rings. As others have mentioned it was a different game when Montana and Bradshaw played too. Just watch old Super Bowl highlights and the difference between now and then is stark. Back to Mahomes... I literally said 'What the Fuck' when I saw him get picked based on his time at Tech. It's definitely like a Brady and Belichek pairing with him and Reid. They were made for one another. Mahomes and these young guys that are rolling in have made Pro Football fun to watch again, at least for me. That game last night was Montana-esque for sure but let's see if he can keep it clean and win when it is on the line again. Montana never lost a Super Bowl and never tossed an interception... and yes, I am a giant Montana homer. Chiefs management and coaching have done a great job managing the roster around Mahomes too. They have 1 starting OL from the last Super Bowl win. Philadelphia lines were getting all the love but KC's revamped OL kept Mahomes clean. Chiefs have the makings of a dynasty with everything they have right now.
