  1. Enjoyed the finale.  It will be interesting to see what comes next out of this universe.

Stuff that makes me want to watch again...

When Mae straightened the picture of Geronimo on the wall, it was a direct reference to the last episode of Cheers.  Also, Rupert Mannion... the last name is a name used by Sam Malone when he would sign in to hotels - Lance Mannion.  A little more on the nose is the Sam and Rebecca relationship on Cheers and Ted Lasso.

  2. Not trivial... but surly worthy and beyond.

We were driving to a basketball tournament on Saturday headed north on Mopac just south of Slaughter.  Traffic was light to medium moving about 70 mph.  Apparently it was not fast enough for some cocksucker on a crotch rocket who decides to ride the white center stripes at around 100 through about a dozen cars scattered in both lanes.

  3. Apologies if this has been brought up before... I was in the China Spring area a couple of weeks ago and hit up 'Sundays'.  Looks like it is an abandoned used car lot on the outside.  Had fried shrimp.  Wife had cheeseburger.  Both were worth the stop.

Saw an interview with Brown once and he basically said the only RBs he held any esteem for was Payton and Earl.  There was a 3rd but their name evades me.  Could have been Sayers or Sanders.

  5. RIP Mr. Brown.

He was a man among boys at all levels on and off the field.

I was not old enough to see him play but through the treasures of what used to be NFL Films, I was immediately awestruck by how dominant he was.

He did everything on his own terms.  Even at his advanced age, I am sure he had some fighting words for Death on his way out.

  6. Ate at B&B Smokehouse in San Antonio (Pleasanton, Harlandale HS area) this weekend. Was very happy with the brisket and sausage ring.  We were there at around 2-3 and they had a steady line going the whole time we were there.

  7. Saw an interview with Springer once.  He knew he was catering to the lowest common denominators of society.  He talked about one time how someone had a medical emergency during a taping.  He said he thought for a moment about asking "Is there a doctor in the house...?"  and he immediately corrected his inner dialogue with "What the hell are you thinking?"

  8. Dang.  I literally pulled the same thing leaving the dentist office the other day.  Walked up what I thought was my car opened the door, hopped in and looked around and said to myself... "We don't have tan leather seats".  No one was in the vehicle.  It was same make, model, year, and color of my car.  Parked one slot closer to the door than my car.  Hopped out as soon as realized what was going on.  Made a glance at the dentist office to ensure no one was coming out to confront me and I hopped in my car and left.

Embarrassing and funny has hell and that's all it should have been for those girls.

My favorite Duke role though is not a western. The Quiet Man is a wonderful movie that my wife and I rewatch every few years.

Ex brother-in-law pointed this one out to me years ago.  I believe it is my favorite Duke movie, too.
