  1. I wouldn't be shocked to see McCarthy fired this week. The fake punt call, sending out 12 players on 4th and 1 and not recognizing. He's gone after this year anyway.
  2. Pamela Oliver is looking like she's about ready for a regular seat on "The VIew."
  3. Rangers are still defending champs...for a little while.
  4. NGGD? I picked up this 60s Kay guitar at Goodwill for $8. I liked the vibe of it and couldn't resist. Even the action of the 4 playable-ish strings and the sound wasn't bad at all. Just needs some minor repair to tuning keys, nut and bridge and it's a cheapass banger player for out in the barn. Might even be worth a few bucks, who the hell knows. I probably didn't lose on it.
  5. Offensive line sucks. Defensive line sucks. Either Tolbert sucks or the coaching staff can't figure out how to use him properly while defenses are concentrating on Lamb. Doesn't seem all that complicated. Maybe partly both, but I think the scheming is the bigger problem. Even a schlub should get a few catches as the second wide out in a game like this. GM definitely sucks. Niners were definitely beatable, about as beatable as they are ever going to see any time soon. Coaches suck.
  6. I went through the jury duty voire dire bullshit once. Lawyer just asked me if there was any conflict with me showing up on Monday for court. I told him I had a guided fishing trip lined up with some folks, which I did. He replied, "well, I I'm not going fishing, either." I served for four freakin' days. His side lost.
  7. I'm just glad it isn't the obnoxiousness of the shitty Subway Series bullshit all over again. Fuck that shit.
  8. Have to deduct a point from this one for not having the tranny OU cheerleader in that group.
  9. Not pretty, but NBC's 17-hour stealer knob-slobbing fest broadcast ended appropriately. LOL

    RIP Pete Rose

Should have been enshrined in the HOF as long as he was out of baseball. Wherever he's headed now he's probably sliding in face first into Ty Cobb's spikes.
  11. Dorance is much more versatile than Sam Williams, though. He seemed like a guy they should keep around for depth and quality reps in different spots. Put Cooks in KC's offense and suddenly he'll look like a steal for a 4th rounder.
  12. Mid-season trades to a team in need of help after a couple of key long-term injuries are a bit different. The Chiefs made a terrible trade in mid 2022 trading away comp 3rd and a 6th for the most brittle and underachieving (but allegedly promising, lol) WR in the league, Kadarius Toney. They cut him before the season after he averaged 2 catches per game for them when he wasn't injured. They are probably even more desperate now as the Chiefs offense has been sluggish after losing two of their top targets and their top RB. Cooks still probably owns a myth of being productive past reality.
  13. I think Dorance Armstrong is a guy Dallas really misses right now. I hated to lose him in free agency.
  14. The Cowboys should see what they could get from KC in a trade for Brandin Cooks. He's that guy that gets traded when teams need an experienced above-average receiver that can help. He has never been the stud he has been made out to be. if they could get a 3 or 4, or maybe a backup player in a position of need for depth and has some contract left after this season, then pull the trigger. Promote Brooks up a notch and roll with it. I'm not trying to throw in the towel on the season, but there are times when you need to use your chips before they gone, and this is one of them. The Cowboys rarely use these opportunities, which is one of the reasons they are always a step behind. They tend to do the opposite and overpay to take someone else's baggage. Cooks is expendable, though it hurts depth to a degree. It also creates opportunity and maybe bring in some new chemistry and play making potential. Ferguson is the true number 2, and Tolbert needs to take a bigger role, even Turpin is in the rotation in a meaningful way. No better time to shuffle a little bit and shake things up.
  15. I've seen the old version on youtube. I am a huge Macca fan, but I can wait a while, and I don't think it is showing anywhere around me anyway.
  16. Just for the record, I hate Garth Brooks. He's like the Dave Matthews of hokey fakeass country.
  17. So it's a Pure Prairie League reunion?
  18. Since I don't have Photoshop any more, this is as close as I could find to aggy serenading his girlfriend.
  19. Back in the day Myspace was a great gateway to new bands, by seeing what other new bands your favorite bands were promoting on the front of their page, and then just linking one after another. It's a shame it eventually suffocated under the tsunami of spam and bullshit that made it unusable. Facebook is almost worthless for similar purposes. The internet of the 90s and early 2000s was great for discovering music, old and new. Used to hang around alot of music oriented message boards and try out tons of recommendations. The resources aren't as good any more. They just keep steering you back to the mainstream crapola.
  20. Pretty much every legit genre of music is dead now, replaced by recycled soylent green dreck. Even the shittier popular forms that emerged in the 80s and 90s seem listenable compared to today's regeration. All you can do is dig through everything you can and sift through the trash to find some hidden gems, both past and present, that were never allowed to by the industry to gain significant play.
  21. Pam Oliver looks like she's about ready for a regular seat on "The View."
  22. Jack White amp will nail that sweet harmonica mic through a megaphone tone.
