  1. Fact. Breaking Away is up there. And yeah, Slap Shot is classic, too. But you can't beat Matthau coaching Little League.
  2. For any of you who have not yet watched the new season of Live Fom Darryl's House on youtube (for free) on Darryl's channel, it's freakin' phenomenal. What an incredible band. Just four episodes in it looks like maybe the best season ever. Even if you don't care for him that much, if you dig music you'll probably really enjoy it.
  3. Their videos are pretty unanimously cringeworthy, as well as most of their album covers. Their personalities are not that great, either. It's a good thing they were really good at music (or at least Hall).
  4. I was out in my little UV on the land yesterday and came upon this merlin eating a bird. I had a cover on top of the vehicle so it was like a loud moving blind and he didn't detect human so I was able to get decently close. He was concentrating more on his dinner, but kept looking around trying to figure out where that clicking sound was coming from.
  5. They are really tough to creep up on. It's very rare that I've had a decent close-up opportunity, much like kestrels. Too small and too fast to catch up with. And they always see you first. They'll screw with you and watch you until you get close to being in range, then they bolt.
  6. I will allow it.
  7. Ferguson is starting to look like a legit stud. I wish Dallas could get a Metcalf type bigass fast receiver to pair with Lamb.
  8. Yeah, never touched one, but I always heard Casinos were hard AF to play.
  9. Pretty basic classic rock stuff, far less masterbatory, more soulful. And his vocal contributions are very good in that band.
  10. Me either, except for his playing with Glenn Hughes in Black Country Communion.
  11. Pretty much any type of video feed presented in a vertical format should be banned anyway.
  12. People don't like Joe because of his stage presence, his self-promotion in marketing, and his boring style of recycled blues. I'm not keen on it myself. But I have always been pleasantly surprised to find him seeming like a pretty decent, grateful and generous guy in interviews. People that don't like him for other reasons just don't watch his interviews.
  13. Here comes the crazy contract extension, right?
  14. Is Bland now solid competition vs Parsons for NFL Defensive player of the year?
  15. Way too skinny.
  16. Pooooor Deion. You hate to see it.
  17. I can get Bally, but can't have adequate internet to get whatever streaming bullshit probably takes over.
  18. Yesterday, late afternoon.
  19. A lot of bird names seem stupid as fuck. Suddenly deciding to change the bird names seems stupider than fuck, especially since the offensive names were those who had the biggest impact on ornithology and the mass popularity birding. But they won't force Audubon to change it's name, even though Audubon was associated with slave ownership. So it's also highly hypocritical.
  20. I'm far from a good player, but the main difference to me when I was choosing between Taylor and Martin's more affordable guitars, other than a slightly different sound profile (which is a matter of preference) is the nut width. I went with a Martin because they are 1.75." Probably doesn't make a difference to most, maybe not even to me, but I have fat fingertips, might help a little bit. The Taylors don't get up to 1.75" until you get to the USA made models that are going to start over 2 grand.
  21. Toe-tappin'...
  22. I think I have that exact same Pioneer receiver, except I just recently took it to a friend of mine to look at and probably to keep.
  23. Last night I checked out the new episode of Live at Daryl's House on youtube, with Charlie Starr of Blackberry Smoke. Then I started diving into Daryl and H&O stuff. ended up binging for a good while. War Babies seems more like a Todd Rundgren album with H&O as his instruments. It sounds so damn good. The whole album is a trip. Daryl's first solo album, Sacred Sons with Robert Fripp producing and contributing guitar is another trip. Also has a strong Rundgren/Bowie type vibe and quite a bit of weirdness.
  24. Yep, there were a bunch of righteous rock grooves on that album.
