  1. And I'm definitely a long time fixture on Team No Guilt Whatsoever for Lisa Loeb fanhood and mega crush city. Would wife.
  2. I took a photo trip to shoot some football games in the Maryland/DC area way back at the end of the previous millennium, the last time I ever took a plane trip anywhere. I was hosted by a friend who let me use their car to get around for a week, at least to the light rail and such to go to my football games and the Smithsonian. I didn't want to mess with their car radio, which was set on a contemporary pop station. Not my usual thing, but it wasn't horrible compared to later times. This is one of the songs that was on repeat in their area, and I had to admit it was catchy. It keeps coming back in movies, commercials and stuff. And you know, I still can't hate it. It's undeniably infectious. I didn't know who it was then, but just recently made the mental connection that the artist, as most of you likely already know, is the son of Randy Bachman of BTO and The Guess Who. I have finally relented to putting it in my vehicle's driving tunes USB drive with the hundreds of songs that don't suck from various periods.
  3. We don't need no stinking bullpen.

OK, I don't know how I missed the earlier mentions here. I've been out of it for a while. ----------------- I got a youtube suggestion about this movie a couple of weeks ago. I was about to call it a night, but figured I would look in for a few minutes to see if I might want to watch it later. Two hours later I was like "Wow, that was a good movie!" Totally free. Well worth watching. Better than the trailer.
  6. Dude can go two ways. He can go Johnny Football and flame out by just being a total entitled douche. Or he can get humbled and humbled again, and then go Baker Mayfield post-douche and start to "get it" and work his ass off for whatever team will give him shot, and maybe start to be an NFL quarterback. He's not doing horrible, but has some serious gaps. The attitude is a dog that ain't gonna hunt in the long term. Fix that, and he's got a chance.
  7. Fumbled the beer before she got a knee down, negative 2 fantasy points.
  8. I go check out Goodwill pretty regularly to kill time. I haven't played golf in ages, but from what I have seen, somebody could really to cobble together a very decent set of clubs without spending a ton. Just have a good idea about your brands and levels of clubs you're looking for, make sure they aren't borked.
  9. I keep thinking how much it sucks for Conan.

Ah, I should have realized this was an oldass thread resurrected. The above is still the correct response.

James Brown - Funky Christmas Legitimately one of the best Christmas albums ever made.
  12. It's just a really shittass world, ain't it? Just horrible. Going way back to "Meathead." Classic.
  13. Sounds similar to my brief encounter with Johnny Unitas. The only time in my life I have ever really been starstruck. I was standing right next to Johnny Fn' Unitas! Johnny - "Smart football team..." Me - "Yeah...ha...you can tell."
  14. Suck it, Goodell.
  15. I really didn't like the 59 yard field goal attempt. I knew he would miss it, and that was pretty much the game, giving them the field position. Cowboys battled field position all night due to Vikes key punts and their own penalties. Their best chance to was to punt, keep them from driving the whole field, and get the ball back in a one-score game. Or gamble bigger and go for it. A field goal lead wasn't going to hold up. Probably Schott's worst game management. The offense suffered when Javonte went out. Having that more consistent running game with occasional nice chunks was huge. If he was in the whole game it would have made difference. Back end of the defense is just wet toilet paper. Maybe some of it is shitty scheming. Definitely need some back end guys and linebackers, and a bigger edge setting DE would be nice.
  16. I like this New England team, but their strength of schedule is by far the worst in the league at .374. Holy shit, I don't remember ever seeing one that weak this deep into the season.
  17. Current position of their two first round picks as the standings are today would give Dallas the 14th and 23rd picks.. Shouldn't be too far from that at the end. Better not blow those, because the rest of that draft is pretty gutted. I can see them, and probably should, trade the later one down to pick up a couple of extra picks somewhere between the 2nd and 4th rounds.
  18. Truth. Is Dak a mediocre qb? Maybe. He don't play on the worst defense in NFL history. He can't play offensive tackle for himself on both shitty sides while he's standing in the pocket. Get any qb you want.
  19. I'm not sure Jerry's tired stupid ass will even fire EffnPuss.
  20. They were gonna call time out anyway, and the 2 minute warning was up. Actually it was about three months ago.
  21. Looks like the ball was actually sliding out before his ass hit.
