  1. We still need about three more of them.
  2. I definitely check into CFL far more than these leagues. Aside from people we've heard of, they have their own established stars and competitive traditions, some sense of each team being a continuing entity and individual fan bases and loyalties.
  3. I hardly watch it, as with XFL. I might be more interested if they didn't replay games so often, so that I automatically assume any game on the grid is a replay of a game I never gave a rat's ass about in the first place. So I tend to skip them, so I don't develop any affiliation. USFL is probably slightly better quality than XFL, but it still has no character. There's no real regionality, no local fans that care, very few recognizable players you might like to follow that might have potential to move up. The NFL now has more futures prospect guys locked up that aren't eligible, so the pickings are slim. Coaches are pretty much old second rate has-beens or never-been rejects. The style of play is pretty bland. It has none of the appeal of the original USFL, which was pretty awesome for a couple of years. It's kind of stupid to call it the USFL. They share very little in common. I'd rather watch a flag football league of retired NFL and big name ex college players that were famous but didn't quite work out in the NFL. Really, even arena football was more entertaining.
  4. Chapman should definitely be a major boost to the bullpen if he can stay healthy.
  5. This is a really cool light. I haven't used it for copying or really tried taking decent photos with it, but with the attached diffuser it gives you a very nice soft light source for instant studio type lighting effect of small objects. And it comes in handy just to have a good bright light within arms length.
  6. Rangers should have just forfeited the game last night and given the whole team a day off if they really needed rest that bad to sit two of their top bats on the same night with a rookie replacement starter on the mound.
  7. Gil, maybe email photos to Gruhn guitars in Nashville if you can't find a good local expert.
  8. Wow, one foot away from a CG 2-hit shutout. Takes the shine off a great outing.
  9. The Vespero seems like a beater player to me. It found you because it wanted to be played. Wear a hole in it and make it your Trigger.
  10. Man, these 2-out almost-rallies are killing me. Makes me feel like we're gonna blow it.
  11. I never understood why Fender seems to be unable to make an acoustic guitar that sounds worth a crap.
  12. I took this painted bunting photo a couple of weeks ago before it was even officially summer. A bit rough around the edges, but still proudly sporting the colors.
  13. I recently hit GC to check out some of the less expensive Martin acoustics and whatever else might work for what I would spend for a guitar I probably won't play much, but hopefully would make me want to play more. All the shit was locked up on the wall and I wasn't in the mood to go get some jackoff to unlock them and stand over my shoulder the whole time. So I took a look at all the other stuff I could actually pick up. The best acoustic guitar I could find among the bunch was a used Cort for $200. I had never even seen a Cort branded acoustic guitar before. Sounded better, played good, looked pretty nice, but it wasn't quite what I wanted. Most of the other crap in there was probably made in factories around the corner, but with more well-known brands on them.
  14. The fuschia of rock & roll.
  15. I know the room will be unanimously thrilled with this revelation. Pickguard screws seem pretty close to right.
  16. Tony D was deceptively strong, too. He was always seen as a speed runner, but then he would run over your ass.
  17. Shit, going to HEB is one of my few highlights of any given week. Not that it's that great, but everything else that once brought any interest has either died or turned to suck.
  18. MLB sent the memo out to get Ohtani in the playoffs. Fuck that bullshit.
  19. Strange blast from the past. Spinal Tap moment around 11:00.
  20. Never in doubt. Always trust the Rangers bullpen.
  21. I don't know that I would call that an error. Looked like a funky hop and angle that would have taken a great play to make, and I'm not sure Jung even touched it. If it were an error seems more likely on Seager, but it was a difficult pickup going past Jung.
